Well I like what everyone has done.
I am using Gingervolt, blitz 2.1 Gingerfussion 3.8 and ics tweaks
Now for some reason atleast once a day my phone will start to vibrate. The only way to stop is to pull the battery.
Has anyone run into this/
Is there a fix that I have not found while searching these forums?
Your best bet is to kill anything that involves vibrate on your phone. I used to get that every now and then, and thought it had something to do with using setcpu. When it happened after I uninstalled setcpu, turned off all vibration and haven't had that issue since.
Sent from my VS910 4G using xda premium
I had that issue until I used setcpu and put the minimum at .768. Hope that helps
Gingerfused Gingervolt 1.3 + Blitz
I believe it's an issue with blitzkreig. BK 2.1 was suppose to fix that problem but I guess it didn't for some people. This only happened to be twice then went away. Others haven't been so lucky. But I would try maybe not overclocking too much and keeping the min above 245. You can check out the Blitzkreig thread in the development section too. Other people mentioned the problem there as well.
By the way I use CPU Master. Not sure if that makes a difference.
I have had this problem as well and it doesn't happen so often but I found that instead of having to do a battery pull you can hold the power button and it will stop mostly annoying that it does it since you can't stop it or do anything except restarting
Haptic Feedback
This has happened to me as well. I thought it was because of blitzkrieg 2.0 and 2.1 but still did it after reflashing to stock kernel. I think it has to do with haptic feedback because it starts while pushing home or back buttons.
I will try setting min cpu to 765.
I have not had to pull battery, it just reboots after about +/-20 seconds.
My phone does the samething vibrate for a long time every 4 to 6 hrs n then reboot not sure what to do. I uninstalled setcpu n super script running blitz 2.1 n gingervolt 1.3

My girlfriend's Revo is vibrating non stop once or twice a day. It is running gingervolt 1.3 and that is it. She runs very few apps and I am going to go through the list to see if there are any apps causing problems. This vibrating issued existed before rooting and installing the gingervolt. I attribute the problem to reside with the code Verizon uses to activate and install bloatware. From what I can see there is some Verizon encoded bloatware that cannot be stripped out (that is not network CDMA verification code).
I can say this phone is frustrating and really wish that android phones would be released with without carrier tweaks. I switched back to an iPhone just because at the end of the day I still have battery life, no carrier bloatware, and the music integration with my car is less problematic. The thing is - it kills me to have an iPhone from geek standpoint. I applaud google for taking a stand with the carriers and revoking the developer phone status on the samsung CDMA dev phones. The carriers really need to stay out of the firmware of these phones and just apply their configs for the device to work on their network and leave it alone from there. This would yield to more frequent official updates and possibly an android device that is much more stable (provided the manufacturer doesn't screw things up with their overlays). Sorry for the rant.
With that being said has anyone found additional solutions to vibration issue?
Thanks,
matt
The vibration issue is the phone getting stuck in the shut down process. People who run blitzkrieg have this issue, but its nothing major so hasn't really been worked on. Those not running blitzkrieg kernel, try Gingerhome ROM, then go back to gingervolt to see if that fixes it. If its constantly doing it after that, let us know.

well I've come down to the conclusion that it has something either to do with that or the notification light. for instance i only get the reset when the blue light comes on. so maybe it has something to do with the blue notification light? is there any lead on where the promblem resides?

From what we have found, it seems to be related to the vibrate function.

***Update***

Alright, I am throwing this here.
For some reason when I send a text, it takes 5-10 minutes for it to go out. I thought, well, maybe its the program, just not saying it sent it. But indeed, last night, I sent several texts to my wife, her phone next to mine. The first message I sent was received 5 minutes later. The second one, which I sent within a minute of the first, took 10 minutes. The third, again with in a matter of seconds, took 15 minutes. WTF, right? So I did some homework, and looked into this. I tried Handcent, no go. It must be with in the system itself and nothing related to the program.
Now on the reverse, it takes 15 seconds to receive a message.
I came on the web and did more homework, talk about account sync bogging down the phone, so I cleared that issue. Nope, still got lag. Reboot. Nope. Soft reboot, again, nope. Still lags. Problem with the ROM? Nope, I have seen this issue reported on a stock phone, here in the forums.
My option, as I see it, a factory reset. Please tell me I am wrong. On the plus side, I do a reset, and I take on Verizon's stupid update, and then push Clock and decrap.
Do it in clockwork not from inside android privacy menu. I definitely think its ur phone as I don't think anyone else has this issue. (At least I don't)

Indeedy do. Now what would that system have to do with airplane mode? Hmm, my connection is more active on the awakening from the airplane mode. If I send a message, I get it stuck in sending. 5 minutes usually. But it will say I sent it 5 minutes earlier. I froze the stock messenger, lol, 10 minutes.
But when I initially send, I can watch my connectivity to 4g kick, for a second, and then nothing. Surprisingly, even 5 minutes later, it won't budge. But when I kick it out of the airplane mode, it goes nuts communicating with the tower, and completing my last messenging task. There needs to be something that I did when I snagged the rooting, and rom downloads. This didn't happen to me before, and it has happened to no one, currently. So I could go back to stock see what happens, run wifi, and download the root, and rom again and see what happens after that.
Yeah exactly right. Flash stock unroot.

I was wondering if blitz supported the voltage adjustments as maybe it would help us that get a decrease in battery life because of blitz? Ik its UC already but thought fine tuning it to phone could help even more?
Also, if you were to use this with rom toolbox would the CPU settings interfere? Would you have to remove rom toolbox?

Okay thanks I'll try it out.
A few things that people seem to forget when comparing battery life. One person can get twice the battery life than someone else for many reasons.
A few:
1) are you in a 3g or 4g area? 4g will use more battery because of dual radio (recommend to switch to CDMA only mode when in a 3g only area, OR when you don't need 4g connectivity)
2) What options are running? (Wifi, GPS, Bluetooth, etc) Don't have any of those features on, especially Wifi, it will suck your battery down quick.
3) Your CPU app (Such as SetCPU). Is is set to Performance, OnDemand, PowerSave? I don't fiddle around with custom settings, just use the stock of those 3 and notice a major battery improvement with just the stock PowerSave.
4) Is your screen brightness on manual or auto mode? Auto mode will take 2-5 times as much juice as it's constantly scanning and changing screen brightness.
5) (almost forgot this) Most importantly, make sure you are in a good signal area (at least 80%) before complaining of poor battery life. Anything below 80% signal can cause your phone to search hi and low for a better tower and better signal. Anything below 50% is likely to draing your battery in half the time, or even less. Constant scanning for a better signal uses up a LOT of juice. I've had past phones that lasted for 2.5 days on a single charge when in full signal. Down to about 10-12 hours in poor signal and similar usage in both areas.
5.5) Those who don't yet know... Don't complain like the ones on Verizon website/reviews where the only thing that some will complain, or markdown on, is battery life. You are using (by assumption you reading this in this forum) a 4g, dual mode phone. NOOBS: This means there are two radios/antennas in your phone that are working together. One on 3g(CDMA) and one on 4g(LTE). This automatically makes your 4g phone use more battery. Don't like it? Go buy a 3g only phone... :O
Make sure to also not have any 'task manager/killer' running. These apps are not only bad for your phone (been proven), but they also use more juice than they save. At least in my experience and from other posts I have read.

We're you using standard or extended battery?
I have not had any rebooting issues but I have only had vz8 on for a day. I don't know about battery life but I will keep monitoring it. I hope that it is better as I would only have 2 hours of actual usage but it I did not use my phone, the battery would be 70% after about 10 hours. I hope this update improves battery life during usage. This was on stock battery.
I was using GV1.3 as GV2.0 would drain my battery very fast. If I was not using my phone, GV2.0 would drain it to almost nothing is a few hours. It was horrible. This was because of the over clocking of the CPU and even if I dialed it down to close to stock, I still had battery issues.
I haven't had battery, reboot or screen issues with mine. I use the extended battery and even with moderate to heavy use, I can make it all day with no charger and if I have light use, I could probably go closer to 2 days. I do like the feel of the stock case as opposed to the extended, so if battery life is much better, it could be worth the update. I am still on GV2.0 and my phone is very smooth. Also wondering if anyone noticed better signal strength on the network or with their wifi.
I haven't had any issues yet with ZV8... I updated, rooted, deodexed, removed bing and all the bloatware. My stock battery is at nearly 17 hours with heavy use and im at 15%

My signal has been amazing, previous versions I would have a hard time staying connected to 3g/4g at my home (I live between 2 mountains). Now I switch occasionally between 3 and 4g but never cannot connect to a network. Wifi doesn't seen to have changed much for me, at least as far as range is concerned.

Ok... I installed ADW Launcher and it uses Google Search, but long press on search does nothing. I've searched a little and found nothing... Any tips?
So when updating to ZV8, we can keep root but not have CWM correct? Can someone please clarify this for me. I know there are instructions on how to save root from V7 to V8, but is there a way to flash CWM either manually through adb or another method? Do we lose GV due to CWM not being available, or it is mainly because the new updates don't exist in GV at the moment. I'm sorry if I seem confusing in any way. I just got my Revolution yesterday and have been used to working with the development of an HTC Droid Incredible 2. Thanks in advance!

Going to be down and out for a while, having problems with my replacement phone (random reboots) ARGH!
In order to trouble shoot it, Big Red wants me to leave it booted into safe mode (which means I can only use system apps) for a few days. If it happens again in safe mode (OMG this phone is worthless without any apps!) they will do a warranty swap and give me a different phone. They didn't say what phone they'll give me but put it in the notes that if I call back in with the same problem to give me a new phone.
Everyone keep your fingers crossed that it does is soon, it's going to be a pita not having Google Nav, Pandora, or WiFi Tether while at work
Edit: They tried to tell me that it's a known issue for the phone to reboot when switching between 3G/4G. They also tried to tell me it could be an app that's causing it or a corrupt file on my sdcard and that's why the replacement phone is having the same problem. Sounds like a load of BS to me.

Hopefully they done a better job then last time lol. I'd be happy if I could keep a data connection in a full service 3g area

I have had random reboots to i just went back to factory settings and im fine now nothing has happened like that.... But it could possibly be a app...
I get random reboots with the stock zv8 , screen freezes are quite often as well as losing data connection in a full 3g service area . My replacement was supposed to be here friday but it hasn't made it yet

I would of tried to bargain them into given you a more higher up phone like the Nexus or a Razr or a Razr Maxx

Sometimes they won't budge all depends on the rep you get.

True. I have a feeling that I'll run into the same situation as Kane did since I have the same problems and I have a feeling if they give me another Revo it'll just do the same thing.
I tried to get something a little newer, but the rep wouldn't budge ... I'm ok with getting a bionic, it's what I wanted to begin with but it wasn't out at the time.
My third phone didn't have the random reboots, it would become unresponsive and the only way to get it to work would be to either press the power button on and off or pull the battery.
sometimes when doing things my screen becomes unresponsive and i have to lock it then unlock it for it to work.... grrrr. iam running brokenout 2.0.1 on zv9..... any suggestions?
That's a revolution/gingerbread thing, it happens to all of us (some more than others) at some point. Different devices respond differently to certain roms and apps there's really nothing you can do about it.

I've gotten the same thing a few times since I put BO 1.1 on my phone as well. It never happened before then. It could just be a coincidence, though.
Do what i did and get rid of that p.o.s. lol. I called verizon and got mine replaced with a droid 4. Some people got a razor, spectrum, bionic or incredible.

Better get used to it since you'll have that problem until the day you get rid of this "phone"
I just flashed BO 2.00 and it was happening more often. I just installed the patch hopefully this helps.
Revo #4 isn't even 24 hours old yet and the thing has rebooted twice. Screen in unresponsive plenty... Hell, the screen wouldn't even respond OOB. Vzw is sending me a Droid 4, can't wait.

Call and complain, you never know what you could get unless you get on the phone.
