I know this is prob something stupid but I woke up this morning and the little headset icon was at the top of my screen and I cant hear anyone on the phone n they can't hear me unless I put it on speakerphone. Sorry for the silly question lol

Grab some canned air and blow out your headphone port. That may clear whatever the phone thinks is plugged in to the port
Sent from my VS910 4G using xda premium
Weird. Or after that, plug a headphone in and out seeing if it senses and changes the speaker vs headphone. Reboot is another option.
Sent from my VS910 4G using Tapatalk
Yea I tried rebooting and taking the battery out. Neither of them worked. I just thought it was wierd cuz it happened randomly u know. I can't find my headphones to try that either. I Just didn't know if there was an option to choose to turn that on n off. I think it might have something to do with adrenaline shot script or something
Sent from my VS910 4G using XDA App
And all of the sudden my phone randomly works again lol. I got a call n the headphone icon wasn't there. Thanks for the help guys lol

OK, so I've had this issue a couple times before today, but today it's happened three times. My touchscreen capabilities cease completely. I will be doing something on my phone and put it back in my holster, and when I go to use it again I have no way to interface with it. I'm on the 1.1 ROM. Not sure what's going on. The only solution is to do a battery pull... Anybody have any ideas?
Sent from my VS910 4G using XDA Premium App
Have you tried just turning the screen off then back on? Works for me... although my screen randomly gives out while using it... lol

I have all kinds of issues with my screen. Sensitivity gets out of whack sometimes. Typing is a ***** sometimes. I dont know if its a screen calibration thing, or LG, but its a huge pain in the ass sometimes.
Sent from my VS910 4G using XDA Premium App
Turning on and off doesn't bring it back like it did with the Moto Droid. Kinda disheartening....
Sent from my VS910 4G using XDA Premium App
Dang... I was hoping someone else had had this issue and knew of a fix... Oh well, not yet any way lol!

1 thing u can do is go to verizon store and show them ur touchscreen not work and they send u a new phone through warranty at no charge
Alright, I am throwing this here.
For some reason when I send a text, it takes 5-10 minutes for it to go out. I thought, well, maybe its the program, just not saying it sent it. But indeed, last night, I sent several texts to my wife, her phone next to mine. The first message I sent was received 5 minutes later. The second one, which I sent within a minute of the first, took 10 minutes. The third, again with in a matter of seconds, took 15 minutes. WTF, right? So I did some homework, and looked into this. I tried Handcent, no go. It must be with in the system itself and nothing related to the program.
Now on the reverse, it takes 15 seconds to receive a message.
I came on the web and did more homework, talk about account sync bogging down the phone, so I cleared that issue. Nope, still got lag. Reboot. Nope. Soft reboot, again, nope. Still lags. Problem with the ROM? Nope, I have seen this issue reported on a stock phone, here in the forums.
My option, as I see it, a factory reset. Please tell me I am wrong. On the plus side, I do a reset, and I take on Verizon's stupid update, and then push Clock and decrap.
Do it in clockwork not from inside android privacy menu. I definitely think its ur phone as I don't think anyone else has this issue. (At least I don't)

Nope. Still 5 minutes. At least my Adw home replacement is working correctly now.
Try sending a text with wifi and post the results
Sent from my VS910 4G using XDA App
I run on wifi at home. Still the same results.
Sent from my VS910 4G using XDA Premium App
And I downloaded handcent again, but its still doing the same thing. I lost swype again, but I downloaded SlideIT.
Sent from my VS910 4G using XDA Premium App
And this popped up right away.
Sent from my VS910 4G using XDA Premium App
Hmm thats crazy I'd flash back to stock and get a replacement
Sent from my VS910 4G using XDA App
LOL
Now how do I safely back track to default? flash stock then unroot? do we have the stock programming on the forums?

I occasionally get something similiar. I'll send a text and it stays stuck on sending. Rebooting doesnt help. The only thing that ive found to somewhat fix it is to put the phone in airplane mode.

Indeedy do. Now what would that system have to do with airplane mode? Hmm, my connection is more active on the awakening from the airplane mode. If I send a message, I get it stuck in sending. 5 minutes usually. But it will say I sent it 5 minutes earlier. I froze the stock messenger, lol, 10 minutes.
But when I initially send, I can watch my connectivity to 4g kick, for a second, and then nothing. Surprisingly, even 5 minutes later, it won't budge. But when I kick it out of the airplane mode, it goes nuts communicating with the tower, and completing my last messenging task. There needs to be something that I did when I snagged the rooting, and rom downloads. This didn't happen to me before, and it has happened to no one, currently. So I could go back to stock see what happens, run wifi, and download the root, and rom again and see what happens after that.
Yeah exactly right. Flash stock unroot.

Oh well, I broke it pretty bad, so I downloaded everything to fix it. I went to IRC and waited for someone with a bigger brain than mine to come along. Much to my dismay it was Regn. But mt was not toI far behind. They got me going in the right direction, and Cube came on and sealed the deal. So far everything is working good. I do have one issue with handcent doubling my messages.I cleared out the default, so that doesn't pop up, but handcent is giving me doubles. Thanks again. And I did wreck my phone on purpose, I saw enough threads to know where I was going, just not enough head knowledge to get me all the way there. God bless you guys, even Reg !!lol.

I started getting the double received messages with handcent for some reason. I just recently had changed to gosms, and now use stock and no more doubles with either.

I had to do the UnbrickableMod on my Captivate. That went perfectly, however, a couple days afterwards my screen turned to this. The color is like this from boot, even the AT&T animation has this color. I tried flashing to stock with Odin and doing a master clear, that didn't help. Anyone have any ideas?
Sent from my Inspire 4G using xda app-developers app
Shoot, I have no clue.... :banghead:

Not knowing fully the internals of the Captivate, is it possible that the cable that connects the screen to the motherboard isn't attached fully? Your picture looks similar to what happens when a component video cable doesn't have one of its plugs in all the way.
Thinking back to my old 8525, it had a ribbon cable that was directly under the directional pad. After a while, it would come loose and make the screen go all white, looking similar to yours prior to doing that.
Ill check that out, I'm pretty sure all the cable are tight. Thanks for the idea!

Nope, I tore it completely apart again. It still looks the same.

Hello, my I9000 is about 4-5 years old, I've been having trouble recently with the audio port.
Some headphones will go in but pop back out, like it's on a spring. Some will go in but my phone struggles to recognise them, when it does the slightest movement will disconnect them.
I've had a look to see if anything is stuck and I can't see anything inside the port.
Anyone have any tips or solutions that may help?
Sent from my GT-I9000 using xda app-developers app
Problem solved.
Inserted a cotton bud (q tip to our American friends) into the audio port and cleaned it out, came out a little dirty. Now it accepts all headphones and even sounds better than before.

OK so the weirdest thing happened just now. I was charging my atrix HD when I went on it to check a phone number. Then it started opening apps and going on xda then other apps. I had no control over it. I couldn't even turn it off. I had to do the power and volume down thing to shut off. It was very creepy. I was just looking for a minute while the person did what they did. It was like when a person from dell controls your computer if something isn't working right. At first I thought it was being laggy but no! It kept going settings were changed and the person tried playing music on it! I turned it off before he could but the wierdest part is that I had turned of my wifi and set my phone on airplane mode so it can charge faster. No communication what so ever. Right now its off and I plan to keep it that way until someone can tell me what to do to protect myself. Also this could have been happening before i went to go check my phone. Which was like 15 minutes before I checked it. Please help

Maybe you installed an app that had a RAT or some other virus in it
Sent from my Atrix HD using Tapatalk 4
That's what I'm thinking. A bad app. The likely hood of it being hacked are slim.

I'm guessing you handle it like you would handle a virus on a computer and just wipe everything and start over.

android is very hard to hack probably a virus delete data in cwm
Best thing to do is just wipe.
Easy way to do it is to go to Settings->Privacy->Factory Reset
It was probably a bad app.
Click thanks if I helped!

Another thing to be aware of is I've noticed Motorola's screens (at least on the Atrix models) are kind of finnicky. If there's a little bit of moisture around they just start registering touches on their own sometimes.
With my battery life being... less than ideal.. I find myself plugging into all kinds of chargers along my travels. Some non moto chargers make my phone go nuts, exactly like what was described - apps opening etc. Have experienced this several times. Feel the other explanations are possible of course but highly unlikely.

There was a story on the news recently that someone's iPhone was hacked by trying to charge at a public charging station. I would be weary of these charging stations.

Airport WiFi connections are VERY insecure. Basically they monitor everything that goes through. Text messages, calls, anything. Maybe they also have access to control phones?

I agree with above post non oem chargers can make the phone act funny especially the cheap dollar store chargers get an oem cable the you will know that it will work for charging and data.
