Warttack over at the MIUI forums as taken over for nix and has posted the latest MIUI port the Incredible. I have been using it since he posted it with great success!! The items I have noticed are:
MIUI Music app has been updated to include folder and min size limit to prevent non-music files from being played.
With the correct kernel the new google maps works great
improved lockscreen
more control over themes
overall improvements to speed
Quote from warttack's post on the MIUI forum
"I'm Kind of out of time right now to make a beautiful post but I'll do it later.
for 12.18 the main changes was the new theme system and a traffic monitoring app
i really did this in a rush so you guys dont stay behind and was my first work on n_i_x's port so i would appreciate if you guys report. i've tested it for awhile now trying out every function i could and the system is stable, i did add invisiblek's kernel #21 with some goods( incrediblek Kernel #21 post ). so enjoy it and let me know how its going.
dont forget this was n_i_x's work so he deserves all the credits
other credited people involved in this project was MarkHUK, Koush, Cyanogen and all the devs at MIUI and around the globe...
recommended: full wipe since system has changed from 12.11
I'll come back with a better post ASAP. "

THIS IS NOT MY WORK, I AM JUST POSTING IT ON XDA
Great to see someone took over for n_i_x. This is a fabulous ROM and the people that port them and support them are amazing. This stuff is way over my head, great job to all. Thanks for the heads up!
link doesn't work
This link works:
http://www.mediafire.com/?7yvcvrn5wdx42x7
That one is directly from the MIUI Dev Forums
Also the OP's link does not work because for some reason it has http://http:// when you click on it, so take one set of it out and it will work.
MIUI-Dev reported issues?
Saw this on MIUI Dev earlier and was wondering if warttack was going to post on XDA, I'm glad someone did.
I saw he used invisiblek #21 as the kernel, which I'm already using and love, but a couple people at MIUI Dev had to go down to #18 because of touch screen issues. Is anyone having issues with this release?

I have not had any noticable issues so far. I do think 18 is better on battery life
I think the touchscreen issues are the guys with the non-AMOLED screens, the new SLCD or whatever it is. I have an AMOLED on mine with no issues at all so far.

AMOLED here, touch screen becomes unresponsive.
When I open up the default phone dialer and push the number 1, the dialer application force closes. I have 12.18 with default kernel. I have had this problem with every previous MIUI version and kernel combo I've used. SLCD screen and everything else works fine
AMOLED here and everything works great!

My wifi will not stay on with this rom. It constantly cycles through turning off and scanning. Did the same thing with 12.11.1. I have a AMOLED DInc and used the kernel that came with the rom. If anyone knows what the issue might be that would be great. Tried wiping everything and rebooted my router. Still doesn't work.
The issues with unresponsive screen are not amoled or slcd specific.

New release coming shortly for 12/24 that should address some of those issues..
I hope .24 comes out for the incredible as soon as the other phones.
Only issue I'm having is that File Explorer keeps force closing.
EDIT: Time stamps on incoming text messages are still 5 hours behind.
Any word on the 24th release?
I'm still running 12.11.1 and loving it. Adding the multi-touch manually was a little goof though. Looking forward to support for new versions post-NIX.

Why use stock messaging? It sucks on any rom. I use Handcent, my times are all correct.

Just flashed this ROM. Beautiful.
hi,
first of all, i want to say that i am not the developer or related by any means to this rom.
I just accidently came across this rom and wanted to share the link to u guys.
Updates-
12.05.2011- v1.85 available through Rom manager.
06.05.2011- Liquid nexusbread ver 1.8
http://liquidsmoothroms.com/node/1
Been running this rom for several days and it's working flawlessly! Love all the options for changing color in the status/dropdown bar, etc. Not sure if these were implemented in CM7.0.2 or not. This rom is really nice, I happened across it on ROM Manager. Lot's of cool features/options and very fast.
I am downloading the rom as we speak. This is very exciting news!
EDIT: This is not the Liquid Metal Tom although I automatically assumed it was. This rom is very fast and the stock browser works almost flawlessly with flash content compared to other roms I've tried. I have my phone overclocked at 1440 Max with the performance governor and I am very impressed at how stable it is. The phone hasn't crashed yet! This might honestly be my daily driver.

I went to high school with the dev of this rom and it was originally made for my nexus s... until I swapped for a G2x. If you get a chance, send him some donations. He's unemployed and could use the support.

Has all the goodies of CM7 and more.
This is a really awesome rom. All of CM7 stuff, plus more. Definitely lots of good stuff here!
why is this posted in a droid/verizon forum? it also seems awful tiny for a rom that supposed to offer as much as cm7.....it's nearly half the size
Pics please
Can anyone post some pics?
Is this better than CM?

The dev had a Droid x and now has a thunderbolt. He made the rom for me but by the time he finished I exchanged my nexus s for a g2x. He's been doing roms for a long time now. Since the og Droid.

just got done with the CHANGES & CREDITS now i m gonna install it
I tried this a while ago. And it seemed nice. But it only had english as language. As i remember the download was only 57mb, so maybe the dev could ad the languages again. So this could be used.
THANKs
another GREAT ROM for Nexus S
Will this rom receive any updates in the future?
Sweet. Will have to try this out ... when I get my phone back from Samsung

This ROM has proven itself far superior to any i've used earlier. Its fluid fast with a exceptional battery life and so many options to mod the ROM.
The rom has been removed from Liquidsmoothroms.com. Maybe theres an update coming.
there are NO gapps included, just a heads up. I believe it said the latest gapps were installed

Hi!
Just brought an O2x 2 days ago, my last phone was a Moto Defy and i noticed a few things around here.Theres no 'perfect' rom available i looked around in dev section and reading the feedbacks i just cant decide which rom to use cm7 seems buggy...and the rest of the roms is lacking serious features like CIFS, USB Host mode etc. Im statisfied with the stock v10c but the power button is messing with me and im missing CIFS modules i couldnt find it.So if anyone have a suggestion which rom/kernel/baseband to use feel free to comment i would appreciate it!
Hi there.. i think "trial n error" method is the best.. seems that not everyone is satisfied with the "total package" had with them.. like mine, modding my stock rom is enough.. using custom kernel, change to % batt mod, and so on.. so far a bit satisfied.. else waiting upgrade to GB is totally slow.. My point is, nothing's perfect..

you can find the update stock firmware here
Code:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1035041
and i think on LG o2x there is no cifs.ko and tun.ko modules.if you want that module i think you can flash other rom like cyanogen or modaco
CM7 is perfectly fine for most people nowadays. Try it sometime, I'm sure you'll like it! Only thing that isnt working is the FM Radio.

Samsung rom's will always stay laggy unless they change the filesystem. Cyanogenmod is by far one of the smoothest rom i've tried on my Sammy (not that i've tried em all).
An other option would be to lagfix your phone, there are numerous threads that explains how to do that (I dont have time to search for it at the moment).
yes, CM7 is hell of a good rom. i rarely see lag on my phone, i mean, i dont see at all,.. the only problem is, when i change the background of SMS/Messaging pin code, sometimes it enlarges the background, and any live wallpaper won't work there, but STILL GREAT. and i occasionally see lag in other Samsung based roms out there, 2.3.4 / 2.3.5
Try flashing a kernel that incorporates lagfix. Semaphore, speedmod or Dark Core work really well and it's dead easy to install them. Then, convert your filesystem to ext4.
After that, try applying these tweaks, they work wonders on our phone's memory management and speed things up quite nicely:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=15948434&postcount=1127
You just need busybox 1.18.2 (read the first post in that thread for a link and more instructions)
cm7 my friend , thats all you need , try it and u will not remember the word "lag"

Custom roms always have higher quadrant scores but they are always laggy. If you want a smooth experience, just flash one of the final builds of Froyo 2.2.1. ZSJPK was the second latest 2.2.1 build and I find it to be the best. It's virtually lag-free.
Try CM7 really good rom, or MIUI rom good one as well and lag free.
Sent from my GT-I9000 using Tapatalk
cm7 and miui are, like mentioned, lag-free. But they drain battery faster than stock or stock-based ROMs (at least in my experience). It's a trade-off but it could be worth trying them out.
cm7 is basically "The Way Google Envisioned Android" as in, there's no branding or manufacturer's crap on the phone.
MIUI is what I like to call "So You Got An Android But Like iPhone's Looks Better". I tried it and it was too iPhoney to me. But you might like it.
+1 to CyanogenMod 7.1 stable (CM7.1) - google it for their website, you can't really miss it.
No lags at all. And according to my experience, my battery gets drained as fast as with any other rom (i've tried several stock and custom 2.2 and 2.3.x).
I am staying clear of nightlies however. Stable works great for me, no point screwing up with that.
i know CM7 is good rom and lagfree....because the rom size is only 95mb...but i like few things in samsung...like slide right to call and slide left to msg and few little feature.... we are sooo ****ed up with this great hardware but stupid firmware!!!....**** YOU SAMSUNG

Hello!
About a year ago I lost my Milestone, just found it within the inside pockets of my jacket
I want to give it to my girlfriend as her X10 Mini pro is getting hardware defects and very limited in playing games and such. I noticed FroyoMod 2.6.0 running quite choppy on it, probably (partially) because of the nice UI and extra options. My question is: which ROM would be the best to have a smooth running phone, advanced layout features not required. Either 2.1, 2.2 or 2.3 would be good. Preferably a stable ROM, of course.
Thanks in advance, Bullehr.
Hi!
I am currentlz using HO!NO! Mod 7.1.5. But I replaced LauncherPro with GO Launcher Ex. I also used Supercharger Script, which frees some RAM
My MM is super snappy now, no lags, no freezes.
Just give it a try
I was close enough to buy a new phone, but now I'm satisfied again ^^
Cheers,
Regaddi

Hi!
Since your girl friend doesn't play games usually, I suggest CM7.1.5. It's stable and smooth running. And Ho! No! 7.2.0 is another good choice. And I also suggest you to remove the 3d gallery and install Quickpic. If you can edit the SystemUI.apk and change the black status bar and scroll bar background into transparent will be better~
Have a nice day~
Have you considered MIUI?
I'd been using CM7 form over six month on my Milestone (A853), but last month I decided to give a try to MIUI and was gladly surprised.
What kept me from changing before was the iPhone-like GUI, which I don't care about, however your gf may like it. On my case just switched back to GO Launcher.
MIUI Camera works just right. Also MIUI SMS and Phone applications are too similar to the ones I'd been using so I didn't even bother to replace them.
Overall my phone doesn't reboots itself anymore, and is fast and responsive.
Unless you gf is fluent in chinese, goto en.miui.com and select one of the variants. If english is your language then you may go US, UK or Scotland. I like US better cause it respects my Alarm+ (shows in status bar), and also has a 4-way reboot option I use.

When I tried MIUI I also was surprised by its beautiness and smoothness, but it took like 1 day, and my MM began to reboot randomly and became stuck and inresponsive like hell...
I don't know exactly what happened there, but when I switched "back" to CM7 I was definately more satisfied with my phone again. I guess it might have something to do with all the MIUI-Apps (and there are a lot).
Just my experience.

CM 7
CM 7 should be goo and stable for her to use it.
MIUI is quite awesome in that it's responsive, comes with good stock apps and is fairly well customizable, although I've replaced the stock launcher with Launcher7.

Based on your condition, I think CM7.1.5 and CM6.3.6 is suitable for you.
