Hey guys!
Seems the Snapdragon SoC in the Samsung Galaxy S supports GLONASS. Source: http://www.smartphoneclub.nl/nieuws/snapdragon-processor-ondersteunt-glonass-satellieten/ (dutch)
Anyone know how to turn it on?
Galaxy S+ has the snapdragon SoC. Galaxy S has Hummingbird SoC.
Galaxy S uses afaik BCM4751 chip which doesn't support GLONASS. Newer version of this chip does - the BCM47511, which is used in Galaxy Note. See http://www.broadcom.com/press/release.php?id=s624273
It's pin-compatible with the old chip so some hardcore modder could swap it ;-))))

Nfc is a hardware thing. I would take real dedication for that to happen.
Perhaps there will be a future release by Samsung with NFC support.
The different releases of the Galaxy Note are frustrating.
There's either:
- A version with LTE and NFC, but without dual-core Exynos;
- A version with dual-core Exynos but without LTE and NFC;
- A version with physical button, one without;
- Of course NO version with an option to switch from TouchWiz to the native Android UI;
How about one sole version with LTE, NFC, Exynos and a UI switch option? Oh, I see, that would be a device which would stay relevant for more than a year...

Where could I buy one of these?
Soon you can add NFC to any phone:

I know that the Infuse and the Galaxy S i9000 have the same partition tables; not sure about the S II though.
Ayway, I know the hardware is different, but does this development make it any more feasible that 4.0 could/would be available in the Infuse someday?
Thoughts?
Wondering if we can now use the Galaxy S2 ICS camera driver on our touchpad. Since both of the devices use the same APQ8060 chipset and ICS just came out for SGS2 today. Anyone?
The international GS2 uses the Exynos chipset. I believe only the T-Mobile GS2 uses that chipset.
I know SGH-T989 and LTE uses that chipset, hopefully they will receive the ICS update soon
My guess is the sensation/EVO 3d is closest hardware wise and the sensation just got ICS I think, 3D should soon
Sent from my PG86100 using XDA
I have no idea. Help please
Short answer: no
Long answer: Your Galaxy Note has the Snapdragon S3 SOC, our Galaxy Note has the Exynos 4210 SOC, both of which are totally different. Also, both have different radios, recovery location, etc., so flashing a ROM for the N7000 onto your note will mess it up and vice versa.
