Hi,
Do someone in here know how to ov. the cpu? I know that BinDroid have a kernel that allows overclock, so i tried it when I had flash rom and kernel successfully. But I'm not available to change the speed in SetCpu....
Any ideas?
I just want to see if i can get a big difference...
Ps. I read on BinDroid's homepage that some guy runs his on 1.72ghz..

What version of the kernel have you flashed? Only v1.1.1 has OC capabilities, I'm using that and it works just fine with CPU master (free from market)
Go here and download latest version and flash with CWM http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=20878531&postcount=2
The rom OC'd to 1.92ghz doesn't make that much difference to benchmark scores, but the rom itself does feel a lot faster...

No, i have RCMix3d.. but last time I installed the kernel it went through successfully even though I had RCMix3d... But i think that was the earlier version, so they may have change something that won't allow you to install it on another rom..
Well you will need to have BinDroid installed to use the OC kernel.

What is the maxspeed the kernel allows you to clock? And is 1,9 stable for you?
Can you tell me what the UV/OC settings you are using as standard on this phone? I want to know if my incredible s can meet the same settings. I am currently using oc/uv beater 2 if that helps.

Yeah 1920mhz has been stable for me, but having it set at that does reduce battery life quite a lot, but I know that DutchDanny is working on a kernel with more governors to try to improve battery life...
Kernel should work on other SXL ROMS as well. This is not BinDroid only.

This is the latest available stock kernel (2.6.32.17-g9a2fc16) for Sense-based Incredible's. Nothing has been modified by me, it's the actual binary built by HTC. It's included in my 10/13 stock release (from a few days ago) but figured anyone on Sense may be interested in it. Before anyone asks, I don't know what's different. We don't have the source for this yet and HTC doesn't exactly provide a change log.

I've been running it for a few days now and it seems rock solid to me. So, experiment with it and enjoy.
Thank you ! will try.......

Yes on both. The custom kernel will remain an option, albeit unchanged since source is not available yet to update it.

I'm using this on Lou's redemptive revo rom and it's sweet so far!
Works great on Skyraider 3.3 charging speeds have doubled, almost 1 percent a minute. Fast, stable, and battery life seems as good as stock 2.2 kernal...maybe even better just havent had enough time to do a full test yet.
Thanks for this.
Tired of Kings kernals always slowing down my phone and maybe with this and perflock set to be disabled on boot with SEPCPU I can keep my screen off profiles to save on some more battery life.
Just won't be able to o/c yet but not like I did much before anyway.

I flashed Onecosmic's ICS RC3 and Have downloaded NStools from market but so far all the frequencies I've tried for Overclocking are not stable. So I was wondering if someone has succeded in overclocking the rom with stability could share their values here. All the stuff, live oc,processor frequency and voltages.
Hi. Have you read this guide ?
why do you want to oc, first wait til there is a stable version of ICS ;-)
Im running Onecosmic's ICS RC3 and allready now its fast

Ya I've read that and I've triead almost all frequencies shbmitted their and i can't get a stable configuration on any of them. And that is for glitch kernel and Onecosmic's RC3 is using Platypus so i thought that maybe I can get some different settings that will work. Anyways, thanx.
Do you have problems with oc only in ICS? Maybe try another kernel! I used RC2.11 with a few different kernels, but a little oc (1200+5%live oc) always worked for me.
I overclocked it to 1460

So from what i understand u have not used live oc and have just oc'ed ur processor?
End result???
So did you finally succeed? I have tried quite a few voltages, and the maximum my phone has stayed up with any OC/Custom voltage setting is a few minutes.

It's not that I'm not satisfied with the kernel I run, it's just that I'm certain there's some better one out there.
EDIT: What do you think of the kernel labeled Tiamat_N1-v4.1.0? From here: http://tiamat-dev.com/mahimahi/
the kernel you mentioned is what i am currently using as testing so far its working good with MIUI 2.3.23 and it offers up to 1.2GHZ overclocking which is not stable on my nexus at least

Okay, try to go as low with the minimum as stable
With max freq I don't go over 1.2 GHz, some use up to 1.5 but that guzzles battery
For gov I use intellidemand or lionheart depending on the kernel
Sent from my HTC Incredible S
I use SetCPU with max: 1,4. Everything above freezes my device and screws battery life. gov: ondemand or lionheart
My sweet spot for oc is 1.2 max, with ondemand/lionheart gov. I don't see any need to go beyond that as all apps and games run well and smooth with that setting. However i've try max of up to 1.5 without any freezing or crash problem.
Also using oc daemon to set oc values, this eliminate lag (sleep - wake), experienced when im using oc apps such as setcpu (thanks markj for the guide)
Sent from my Incredible S using xda app-developers app

Even though i think that 1Ghz CPU is more than enough on Android 4.0.4, it is very laggy and the situation is terrible. I need to go over 1Ghz like I did on other custom roms. I do not want to install a custom ROM because I do not know what they contain and I dont trust them. I just need to flash a custom kernel, and boot up the phone with the ability to go over 1Ghz (overclock). Any custom kernels (not ROMS) that you have tried and work with Android 4.0.4 ??
