I have my W8 installed MiniCM7 2.1.6 and nAa kernel-08, everything seems fine, but I can't send text messages.
I can receive messages, but get an error when sending.
Can anyone help?
Bump for answers.
It happened to me once
- Turn off the phone
- Remove yout Sim card
- Put another Sim card of the same company
- Turn on the phone
- Try to send a message
- Turn off and put your Sim in yout phone.
Thats it!!
I tried several SIMs, some could send but some couldn't.
The mobile company person told me that may be a problem about wrong "text messaging numbers". But I can't find anywhere to configure that.
Still don't have answer...

I was trying to fix something on my connection settings and I guess I moved one of the settings by accident now I can only receive text messages and not send them. Can anyone tell me what I might have done wrong and how I can go about fixing it. Would a Hard reset fix the problem?
just to make sure.......are you sure its a settings problem and not a problem with you operator?
I didn't want to call them saying they messed up my text settings when they might not have, plus I don't know if my connection settings are any different from a standard Tilt since I put different software on it. Should I give them a call any way?
the only setting that i know of for text messaging is the center number which i think is stored on your sim. try popping your sim into another phone and see if the problem is still there
I put the sim card in another cell and was able to send and receive a text.
Hi, I have serious problem with incoming SMS on my HTC Diamond. Sometimes happens, that incoming sms doesnt arrive. Only the LED ring lights up and thats all. In SMS inbox it writes message, thats SMS memory on SIM card is full. I have 10 SMS on my SIM card and 15 SMS in my phone memory. Does anybody have the same problem? How can I disable the warning "SMS memory on SIM card if full.." and store all SMS on device? Does someone have a reason to make SMS to income? thanks
Try using Sim Manager in Programs to move all the messages and contacts out of your sim to the phone.
Your problem sounds odd, are you using a sim that had been used in another phone? From new my diamond has only put sms into the phone. Perhaps if your sim is totally empty, then the phone will revert to not using it. I couldn't see any setting in Sim Manager to choose where to put messages, but perhaps as you have messages already in your sim, you will have more options.
So, the SIM card was used in more phones before... I have on SIM only the SMS and no contacts... I tried the SIM Manager, but there is no posibility to move the contacts/SMS from SIM card to phone, only to move contacts from phone to SIM...
Is there posibility somewhere in win registry disable SMS on SIM card? I know about the way to disable SIM contacts, but no the messages...
Also I tried to send message to diamond, a few people sent me SMS and the message havent arrived... sometimes arrive, sometimes get lost... I thing it is serious problem
Hello, i have the same problem. Maybe someone have any ideas how to manage it?
Thanks
I still have this problem. Please help
Me to anyone able to solve this?
Whenever I send an SMS it is as if I can only send 1 per day. Let me explain, I can send an SMS fine but when I get a reply back then my response to it just sits in the outbox.
I exit the SMS program and then I cannot open it again (the option does not respond, as if it has hung, system works otherwise though) so I have to power off the phone, remove battery, remove SIM and then power it on with no SIM. I can then access the SMS program.
If I then delete the SMS from the Outbox and Deleted Items and Sent Items then sometimes (and only sometimes) the notification that the SMS has been sent will magically pop up. If that does not work then I power on the phone with a SIM and sometimes opening and closing the SMS program magically sends it, sometimes sending an SMS to myself fixes it and other times it just does not work at all and is very infuriating.
I am using the stock ROM and WM 6.1 with no additional programs installed.
What can I do to fix this and be able to send SMS messages normally? I even took my SIM out and put it in my old SE phone and I can SMS without any problems, only on the X1
Thanks.

That sounds strange indeed. Has it always been this way or did this error appear lately? If it appeared just lately I would try a hard reset. But if the problem has always been there I would try another sim card (demand a replacement from your service provider). How old ist your sim card? Old sim cards can cause several strange problems when used in current phones. It's easily possible that the card works with your old phone but causes troubles in combination with your X1.
The funny thing is that I took it to the Sony shop (I live in Thailand) and they tried a different SIM from a different network and it worked without any problems. They then put my SIM back in and it worked also.
My question is why does my SIM card not work well with the X1? I have always had this SMS problem since I got the phone (used).
Thanks for replying.

Something like that was happened to me too when I'm still using the stock ROM. Some people said that it is the problem with threaded view in WM6.1. But it ould be because of too many messages in my inbox or outbox. Since I'd like archive my messages, I backed up the message to new ROM and this problem never ever happpened again.
I recommend the following steps to narrow down the reason for this problem.
1. Perform a hard reset (or even reflash the stock rom)
2. Try using the phone on factory defaults (do not restore anything from a backup) for several days
3. If you still experience the problems try deactivating the threaded view for sms
4. Still not solved > order a new sim card
5. Received a new sim to no avail > might be a hardware defect
A few words concerning sim cards. Believe me, they can cause strange problems. There are people that used to have bad signal reception. After they ordered a new sim the problems were gone. Or cases where people could not get a working data connection > new sim solved it.
By the way, you told it in your post too:
"The funny thing is that I took it to the Sony shop (I live in Thailand) and they tried a different SIM from a different network and it worked without any problems. They then put my SIM back in and it worked also."
It seems that your sim card blocks the sms sending process from time to time. So to keep this post short, no matter to what result the above mentioned steps lead I would go for a new sim anyway.
I do indeed use threaded conversations. Stupid question, but how do I turn threaded conversation mode off? This is the first thing I want to try.
Thanks.

I have never tried this before. To look for how to do all of them. Googlefirst.
use registry editor, add
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Inbox\Setting s\OEM\SMSInboxThreadingDisabled
binaryvalue set to 1.
Click to collapse
Hmmmm, I was hoping it would be easier than that.
Thanks anyway.

To disable threaded view use SK Tools, Advanced Config or Xperia Tweak. The later two are freeware and downloadable here at XDA.
I've read the other threads on this forum about this for all phones, and I think it may be a memory issue, but I wanted confirmation before I go deleting a load of texts as I have important ones. [I presume there's a set amount of memory set aside for text messaging and i've reached that]
It just suddenly stopped receiving, but I can still send and they show up in the 'Conversations'.
To give some figures, in one of my text conversations with a contact I have over 6000 texts [Both sent and recieved together], and others around 100-200.
Would it be that?
hi !
Try this : Remove your SIM card and put it into any other phone. Now delete some messages from your SIM card. ( No you cannot delete SIM messages in HD7) , put the sim back into your HD7 and you will start getting messages again.
Atleast happened with me !
Try and tell if this works for you.

Hey,
I can receive texts and make calls fine, but I can't send any texts.
I tried toggling data connection on and off, but that's a no-go.
Any suggestions?
Hi, I also had the same problem when I first inserted my SIM into HD7. It used to receive messages. Make & receive calls but not able to send messages.
HD7 actually tries to get message center number from SIM.
When I inserted the same SIM in Nokia E72, I figured out there are 2 center nos.
1. Message Center No.
2. SIM Center No.
HD7 took the SIM center No. & was not able to send messages. I changed it to Message Center No. and voila... I could send messages easily.
You have to go to Messaging --> Settings & check which number it had accepted. Either you can try to insert into any nokia phone & see another number too or else you can talk to customer care to get your message center no & change the no. in the SMS Center No. in your HD7 --> Messaging --> Settings.
I am sure your problem will be resolved.
@badboy70; Is your problem resolved after the given solution?
I'm sorry for the late reply, I haven't tested it because it was a friend who tried to use my phone, because he wanted to use WP7 for a week to decide if he was going to buy a Lumia or not.
He's changing to the same mobile service provider as me when he buys the Lumia so it should work fine.
I'll see if I can try it out anyway.
(And even not being able to text, he's thoroughly conviced about WP and will buy a Lumia)
