Hey
Running aokp ROM 4.1.2
I turned on my phone this morning and noticed my set wallpaper was missing. I tried to locate it but my photos were all gone. I went into another photo app and they showed up so I am lost what to do.
Shortly after my phone rebooted and was loading for 5 mins. Eventually it loaded up and still I can't not access my photos in gallery. Very strange so I forced closed the app but reasons i dont know as i cannot get it back as normal!
Is their a way i can just use quickpic as it shows all my pictures and delete the gallery stock app? also i am wondering if their is a camera app that would work best with quickpic, as the stock cam will try to find the stock gallery app to store my pics to.
Thanks if anyone can help me.

So I've had no problems up until a few days ago when if I try and take a photo on the camera it appears to work but the gallery icon in the corner of the camera still shows the last taken photo and opening the gallery also only shows the old photos. I also had an issue where I was receiving text messages and I could read them in the notification bar but when I opened the text to reply the new one wasn't there, I deleted a bunch of other messages but this didn't work but when i deleted the thread for the specific contact when a new one arrived it worked fine.
I've tried turning the phone off and one and I have a reasonable amount of space on the SD, so I'm baffled why I can't take any new photos!
Any help would be great, cheers!

I had a near identical issue where I would take a photo, the gallery icon would not update, and the photo was never saved. Also if I opened gallery no camera photos were there.
I backed up my DCIM folder, deleted all the images in 100MEDIA, updated my rom (ARHD), and it started working again.
I would try deleting all images in 100MEDIA then rebooting first.
Did you change the date on your phone?

No never touched it. I think the root of my problem was after upgrading from a 4.2 to 4.3 rom I manually moved my pictures to the new directory structure. The sense camera app does not appear to like that it did not write those files itself.
hi all
i've formatted my completely stock HTC ONE after upgrading to 4.3 and i found 2 issues:
1. when i transferred my pictures and videos from laptop to the phone all photos and videos were showing the same date of transfer and when i view them in gallery the videos appear all one after another , not like how i took them...few photos, one video and one zoe...etc. Its like showing all photos and when scrolling down all videos...
is there a way to fix this? i have a lot of photos from my travel and i would like to keep them in the correct order.
2. my apps where automatically re installed cz i backed everything up on my google account ( an option in the phone ) so i found some of the apps have those old three dots in the lower side of the screen for the settings, the ones cancelled by the 4.2.2 upgrade. anybody knows how i got those back??? shall uninstall and re install again?
any help is appreciated
Thank you
Jamel

Hey guys, need a little help here and wanted to see if anyone else had this problem. My pictures are being saved to my microsd card. If I use quickpic for my gallery, delete a pic, it's gone from the gallery. If I restart the phone, it's back. I've tried going in through astro and deleting the files, and it just hangs, won't delete anything. I was able to go in through the camera app, then review pics through the camera app and delete from there and it worked, but I have no idea why quickpic, the stock gallery app, and astro all can't delete the pics! Any help would be greatly appreciated.
And just to clarify, I'll delete a picture in quickpic, so it doesn't show up there. But if i go through astro and look in my pictures, the pics are still there, so when I restart the phone, it reloads the pics into the quickpic gallery.
Use build in file manager to delete stuff from SDCARD, google screwd everyone up by locking up sdcard functionality , the only way to fix it is by having root.

Wow, that's unbelievable, I used the built in file manager and it worked, that's ridiculous that you can't even delete pictures from the stock gallery app either. Thanks for the help!
Man, what a pain. how can this even be an issue? unbelievable!
Not true. You can delete photo's from the stock gallery. I just did it with a photo located on my external sd card.
Also, from what I understand about the external SD changes Google made, it would be mostly the application developers fault if something like that doesn't work correctly. An app can only write to it's own folder on the external SD, but can read all. When uninstalling, the applications folder is also deleted. I imagine this would be very tricky with pictures as you don't want to store them in 2 locations. I guess this would actually render a stand alone gallery app and file manager app useless in Kitkat when dealing with external SD files.
Also, it says this on Quickpic's page in the play store, "Can't modify the external storage in Kitkat." Sorry bro.
Hello everyone,
I have 2 note 4s from T-mobile and recently started to have issues with images.
On my rooted note 4, i cannot seem to save any photos from from text messages into the gallery.
On my non-rooter note 4, i cannot save any pictures from text messages or anywhere else. Also I cleared the cache of the media storage and that wiped everything out and I thought after restarting, it would all come back, but it has not. I have checked using Root Explorer, all my photos are in the DCIM/Camera folder but the items are not in the gallery app.
Can someone please advise what can be done in order to get this fixed because it has been going on for over a month now.
Anyone???
Check if there in not ".nomedia" file in your picture folder. Delete it if you have one. Another trick you may try. Move your pictures to another folder, open gallery and let it rebuilt tumbnails. Close gallery and move pictures back. It did help me once.
