well i read the forums but i didnt discover the same problem as me ...so again is the stock x8 rom not supposed to work after i flash the kenrel or am i doing something wrong?(ican get to cwm).MOreover,do i have to load the custom rom file first, then flash the kernel, then flash the loaded rom?

dude, flash nAa v10. after you flash it, the kernel logo will appear followed by the battery sign.
press power button, the phone will boot and the kernel logo will appear.
you will be sent do CWM Menu.
if you have a compatible ROM for nAa kernel, do a full wipe and reboot and see if the ROM boots successfully.
if you dont have a compatible ROM, do a full wipe, install CM 2.1.8 and then reboot.

U have to unlock bootloader first before flashing kernel,
this is the step (with stock kernel and rom installed and root) :
- unlock bootloader
- flash kernel
- enter cwm
- wipe data
- install custom rom
- wipe data again
- restart system
and ur good to go

You cant load stock rom with a custom kernel. Just flash GingerDx Rom and you should be fine. Flash the kernel first using the flash tool, then flash the rom using CWM and then turn on the phone

ty very much guys( especially bahmonkeys)!I should have known that

No problem im here to help!!!

Here is a newbie guide to unlock the bootloader
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1436924&page=2
After you unlocked BL you can flash the kernel with flashtool (with the latest one)
-Don't forget to copy you're rom to SDcard!
When the nAa logo appears hit the back button and you're in cmw menu.
full wipe->instal custom rom-> reboot your phone !

first flash your kernel and then install custom rom...

[Q] GingerDX

Hey Guys
Am kind of lost At the Gdx instruction thingies
Okay i know how 2 install it
..
So
i have the 2.1 ..
With all the required Stuff
the baseband number...etc
So is it now like always?
P.S: My bootloader is unlocked ..
So again is it like always
install ZIP From either Xrec.. Or CWM??
And about the recommendation 2 install The Linux
is it Safe???????
Completely Safe i mean???
And what are the benefits of Linux + GDX ?
..
your answers are gonna be the reason 2 either install the Rom Or not :/
So please HELP?
I did like this :
1.FULL wipe
2.flash gingerdx v017
3.flash linuxdx
And everything is good Is it safe? If you did everything all right its safe now with latest gdx with latest linuxdx i have=NO LAG AT ALL, EVEN WITH MANY APPS INSTALLED AND LOW RAM! ! i really easily recommend it to you
Sent from my X8 using XDA Premium App
If you read carefully GingerDX v014+ requires CWM for install it, for v013- versions you can install with xRecovery.
And GingerDX is safe, little bugs in some versions but with solution in almost all.
In my opinion the battery drain is the most important issue, with the Governor in ONDEMAND my battery drains just in the night 20%, that's a lot. Now, with Smartass, the battery drains just 3% over night.
I don't know about the performance with LinuxDX Kernel. I can't help you with that.
I'm sure that in the respective post you can get more information.

3. install rom from X8 recovery

Guys for the love of God don't Get me confused ..
Just flash the kernel, ater that do afull wipe, and then flash the ROM in CWM-Recovery.
And if it´s not stable, flash stock ROm with stock kernel again and flash ONLY GingerDX without the Kernel.
Dude
while flashing the Linux
it stopped ..
And told me 2 tick the God damn USB debugging !!
DAMN I FORGOT 2 TICK IT BEFORE !!
And the phone now won't Go ON..
At ALL !!
it just shakes ..
Then nothin
Am trying 2 Fix it with Sony ericsson update service
But the installation is STUCK!

Damn????
you should flash by flashtools .
Or the battery is low.. it happened to me once when flashing my gf's x8. It took a while for me to realise it. Lol. Just a suggestion, based from my experienced.

KERNEL - this you flashing using FlashToll from PC
ROM - zip file that you installing from CWM or xRecovery
Proper order (I assume that bootloader is unlocked already):
1. Make backup of apps using TitaniumBackup then xRecovery or CWM
2. copy new ROM to SD
3. turn on USB debugging
4. disconnect USB cable
5. shut down phone
6. run FlashTool and press "flash"
7. press and hold "back" button in phone and plug in USB
8. wait for flash is done ("flash complete ... disconnect ...")
9. disconnect USB
10. turn on phone and start tapping screen to enter CWM
11. using CWM menu install custom zip
12. do full wipe
13. reboot
14. wait.... it can take up to 5 mins
15. install Titanium and restore apps
If it will not run you just flash back stock kernel, then seus for stock rom, root it, install xrecovery or cwm and restore backup.

[Q] Bootloop with nAa10 on X8/E15i [SOLVED!]

Hi!
I had a problem with my smart (if you call me, it reboot, something reboot automatically). I was using GingerDX v21 and v22. I downgraded to 2.1 via PC Companion but doesn't works.
So, I decided to use MiniCM7. I followed this tuto http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1068553 and the bootloader unlock tuto too http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1254225
Well, I did everything correctly, I guess. I see the nAa logo when I turn on my smart and I can enter in CWM-Recovery.
I have installed the MiniCM7-2.1.8-shakira, MiniCM7-2.1.7-shakira, MiniCM7-2.1.6-X8, GingerXperiaRay_V004 and PrimeHD20 but I can't pass of boot (bootlooping).
I don't know if I did something wrong. I had instaled too E15_nAa-09_2.6.29.6-nAa-09 and E15_nAa-06b_2.6.29.6-nAa-06b (first I tried v10). I everytime wipe all data.
If I install the original kernel and rom it works normally. I don't know what I can do. I do the same process three times, wiping all, installing, etc. and nothing!
What I'm doing wrong? There are some possibilities of my smart don't support it?
read this first http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1011071 to go back to 2.1...
then root, install xrecovery, unlock bootloader, flash nAa kernel you need ,and then
install MiniCM7...
try this method
1.root
2.unlock bootloader
3.flash nAa v10
4.then your phone will have CWM and flash the rom minicm7.218
5.flash google gapps gb
6.reboot and see it bootloop or not??

is this working?
First of all i would like to thanks all the Developers for their Incredible work on this site. I am using this site for a long time it helped me in solving many issues. I flashed many Custom ROMS on My X8 & X10 never had big issues so there was no need to post just becuase there was already so much of information here. But from last 4 days i am messing with my X8 when i tried flashing Jelly Bean Rom. Previously i was using 2.3.7 in my x8.I cant say i am very good but i am not new to these Roms. I actually searched alot but failed so i am here for help. In order to use Jelly Bean my x8 is having Bootloop issue. I follow all the instructions from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1789713 regarding Kernel http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2136211. I follow each guidelines but still Bootloop . Not only that i cant use any other custom rom now everytime bootloop. SESU repair my phone but i cant use 2.1 now after using custom roms in x8 for longtime, It feels pathetic Now i dnt want Jelly Bean in x8 anymore i ll be more than happy if i get 2.3.7 back
I tried different Roms , Kernels but everytime same result "Bootloop"
Rooting fine, Flashing Kernel fine,, Rom instalation fine. Had doubt regarding Unlocking Bootloader ( Whether its properly unlocked or not). so Flashtool says Its "unlocked" but it also said it cant be "unlocked officially". So i tried another way to with s1 tools from this link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=23680742&postcount=1 and r is smaller too RUNNING S1_EROM VER "r8A029". Now i am really confuse. tired and fed up 4 days GingerXperia, JellyBread.Jelly Bean everything failed
But i want to add 1 thing which is related to BLU because i cant dial *#*#7378423#*#* service menu from my x8 is that the clue or issue. Plz members help me out. Thanks in Advance.
Please Help
Damn ..
I have tried many times with naa kernel to flash rooms, but stuck in bootlop.

Hello, im helping a friend root he's phone.
He is stuck at the "Sony Ericson screen"
This is what we have done so far:

- Custom recovery (CWM)
He then went into CWM and clicked:
- backup nandroid
- delete dalvik cache
- reset factory
- install zip from sdcard: Presto ... install it...... . .. . .
- Restart phone.
it gave me an error "bad restore can't restart" then It automaticly jumped to another submenu "no" "-yes -- restore CWN" underneath a warning: may not able to access the restore" I clicked yes and it restarted but never got further then booting

I dont have this phone, so I didnt know you needed to have custom kernel and unlocked baseband.
How can I get the:
1. Latest baseband
2. Unlocked bootloader
to unlock the bootloader you have to check This
for latest baseband update the phone with Update Service

Help?

Right, to cut a lonnnnng first post story short, basically, rooted my phone yesterday, went well, installed some rooted apps and was having fun, one app, 3D something, from Google Play. it asked me to restart my phone after setting superuser (i thought this was quite weird) anyway i boot locked my phone - got the typical "Samsung GALAXY Note GT-N7000" and the phone woundnt move from there, i can gt into vol+ home and power and vol- home and power still. so after some research i found i had to flash therelivant stock ROM using odin - so i did. and it worked. then at somepoint today my phone got stuck in a boot loop consisting of the GT-N7000 screen then the samsung spash screen. when i do vol+ home power, i get in red text "E:/error%20in%20/data/recovery_last_kernal_log.txt" - what does this mean? and how(if at all) do i fix it?
i have curently re-flashed stock ROM and vol+ home power & "wipedata/factory reset" and so far so good......
any help or shed light would be a great help
Phone is Samsung GALAXY Note GT-N7000
Flashing the stock rom won't change anything if you have not wiped data. It just restores the system. What rom are you on? JB or ICS? To get everything to factory standards, install philz kernel.
Then boot into Cwm and choose wipe data,-clean before new rom flash.
Once it's done, choose reboot download and flash the rom again with odin. This way anything that the "3d something" might have done will go.

yeah any kernel will do as you just need recovery... once the kernel is installed, boot into recovery.. You should see CWM based recovery.

[Q] Able to get into recovery mode, but nothing appears after Samsung logo

[PROBLEM SOLVED] I flashed the custom ROM directly and everything is up and running! Details are below Thanks everyone!
==========================================================================================================================
Experts please help!
I have been surfing my whole day trying to root my Note I (N7000) and flash a custom ROM.
My kernal is XXLSF and I flashed PhilZ-cwm6-ZCLSF-CHN-5.08.5-signed.zip.
I rebooted it after flashing. The Samsung logo appears but then, it blackens and nothing appear on screen.
Now, I can get into the recovery mode by pressing the volume up, power and home button.
I am planning on flashing a stock ROM from SamMobile. Is it okay? WIll I brick my device? What should I do?
I am so frustrated right now:crying:
Your help is much appreciated. Thank you!
From this post, "None since I switched to the CWM4 and CWM6 recoveries (no more superbrick risks under 4.0.4 ICS kernels, only CWM5.x was affected)"
Should I flash a stock ROM that is under 4.0.4, but not the lastest 4.1.2?
What is the XXLSF kernel? May be you flashed an incompatible kernel. Yes you can boot into download mode and flash stock rom.. It will boot up the device again.. Before rooting next time, read instruction more carefully.
If you were intending to flash a custom rom, you can do it without flashing a stock rom as you have access to recovery. In the recovery mode, select mount USB storage>connect to PC.. drives will appear. then place the custom rom zip file on to phone. In recovery mode, choose clean before New rom install and then flash the new rom.

because I have never updated my Note I, the kernal version is very old.
The kernel now is not OLD as its now updated to Philz. You can directly install the PAC rom.

Anything on the internal SD card that you stored using camera or music or videos will not be erased doing a factory reset. For that you will need to choose..format /emmc in the recovery mode. /data is one that app stores on the phone.
