Hi! I would just like to ask if i can install I9000UGKG3 (Bell official GB firmware) to my international SGS i9000. I understand that I9000UGKG3 is for i9000M. The reason why i'm asking this is because i need a firmware for my phone that supports 850mhz as i am now in Canada.
I don't mind installing a more latest version of GB that supports 850mhz as well if someone can point me in the right direction.
Thanks!
You only need to install the UCKG3 modem to get 850Mhz not the whole ROM.
Just flash the ZIP in CWM, you may need to enable 850Mhz in service mode

I was reading the thread about the hack to be able to flash a ROM from another region onto your phone by changing some system registry values. Is it possible to use the Froyo 2.2 ROM from another region and the modem firmware from the released US 2.1 firmware package in order to flash a US T-mobile Vibrant phone and still have it function on the network, but be running the 2.2 OS? Would this work?
I believe that this version of 2.2 is only for the i9000 version of the galaxy s; the t-mobile version is T959.
Has any one with a I9000M tried this ROM yet?
Do you know if the 850mhz band is still available?
If not can we flash JL2 modem?
Flash JL2 with odin. JV1 doesn't have the proper bands.
So the JL2 modem is compatible? Nice
Is it possible without loosing any functionality to change firmware from the original Korean JPD version to the European JS5?
My phone shows following data:
FROYO.ZSJPD version 2.2
Kernel I9000 ZSJPE
PDA I9000 ZSJPD
Sales code VD2
CSC I9000 ZSJPD
Phone has no Simlock.
Now my Inc S comes with 3G at 900MHz ,Is it possible if I use other radio baseband to flash such as baseband from Canada which can use 3G at 850MHz.
Is there 2 kinds of them were separated by ability of hardward?
It's all hardware - Flashing wont help in this case.
Hi all, I've read that T-mobile Tab users are able to flash their tabs to the European firmware to enable the phone function? Has anyone flashed an asian firmware to be able to get the phone function too? Will it brick the T-mobile Tab upon flashing the Asian firmware on it? I guess its possible since the Asian firmware supports the 2100 band and you'll be able to get 3G out of it?
I guess the 3G will work if you are using the T-Mobile Tab flashed to an Asian firmware with a foreign sim and you are not in the US.
