right i got a problem with the google talk app after installing quarx black rom with recovery and fastboot (and updating kernal). everytime i start the app it just shuts down and puts me back to the menu.
i have reinstalled the apk and files but this hasnt solved the problem. any ideas what i can do because its causing problems with downloading from the market.
I've recently flashed a new rom (rocket rom v10). Did a full wipe before that, so I used titanium backup to restore apps and data. But I recently found out that every time I reboot, I lose settings/data. For example, my user dictionary gets wiped. I also use power strip, and my configuration for that also disappears. I've tried reinstalling that app but that didn't fix it so I know its not that.
Any help would be appreciated.
Have you tried wiping cache as well? And starting from 0? And then move something and then restart again and then see if that fixed it. If it does then restore. And if it keeps resetting after that then something is corrupted.

Hi, I've Installed the upper mentioned ROM from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1079463 using the same instructions (i already had installed xRecovery). But when my phone boots, the startup application starts, in which i need to setup a google account, but i keep geting messages that all other background apps that i had are shutting down and i need to click on Force Close.
I'm using XPERIA X8, the latest official update of android 2.1 (It's sth like 2.1.1.C.0.0) baseband is xxx015.
The worst thing is that even launcher doesn't work.. I have 2 launchers installed. GoLauncher and the one that comes with ROM.
And when i try to use the one with ROM i get error
Code:
The application Launcher (process com.android.launcher) has stopped unexpectedly
The same thing happens with GoLauncher.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance
use flastool to recover your device and try once again,if it dosent work again then u didnt full wipe.
try using other roms
Try full wipe on recoveRy,clear cashe and dalviu

Tried, both times, and tried with full wipe, wipe dalvik and all other cache.. Still doesn't work. I will now try the FROYExp from TeamMex and will see if that works..
Just out of curiosity, if i have app2sd installed, would that cause any problems?
Just to update.. Worked great! after removing app2sd

Sudden wake up seems like a broken app issue. If you reflashed ROM and the issue persist, that problably means you didn't make "clean install" i.e. didn't wipe all system partition, factory reset, wipe cache/dalvik.
If you indeed made clean install but still have the problem, try fixing permissions at recovery. Also try installing app that tells you which app keeps waking device (GSam Battery Monitor or Better Battery Stats), and uninstall that app. I had similar issue, caused by CPU Control app - which crashed during one reboot. It was waking devide while trying to adjust governor/clocks.
If that don't help try to reflash ROM again (ensuring you make clean install) but don't install any apps. Try most minimalistic ROM you can find - without any stock apps.

actually like when i used cwm ICS builds it got disappeared by itself for unknown reasons!,and of course im glad of it
and yes,i had a clean install with every thing wiped and i have checked permissions and logcat myself, but there wasn't anything strange!
by the way those apps u suggested was really useful for me,and i've found many interesting thing inside the phone
I just doing the app2sd Darktremor, then suddenly the phone is brick. Trying to flash the stock, done. But Play Store isnt available on the drawer, so i rebooted to recovery mode. Choosing the wipe dalvik, factory reset, and battery stats reset. Then, the phone is brick again. Tried to flash rom, but still cant boot to system. Help me please.
You probably bootlooped. APP2SD can't brick your device.
Also about Play Store dissapearing, that's normal. You need to log-in to your Google Account then Play Store will pop-out from the drawer.
Actually, it's your own problem for using a SGA script on a SGM.
But when you say it can't boot, can you boot it into either recovery or download mode?

install titanium back up pro and check if you have any residual copy of google play and then convert to system app
Otherwise, download the google play from google somewhere and use titanium back up pro to convert to system app..
