Droid Won't Boot. Stuck At M Logo - Motorola Droid and Milestone Q&A, Help & Troublesh

I am looking at a phone for a friend of mine. It's a original Droid. It will not boot to the OS, it just sits at the M logo for hours and hours. I have got it into recovery mode by powering on and holding up on the D pad. I then used RSD Lite to reflash VZW_A855_FRG01B_QSC6085BP_C_01.43.01P_SW_UPDATE_01 to it. It says it finished and passed, but still sits at the M logo. Any ideas?

::tap tap tap:: Is this thing on?

Guess not. Thanks for all the help. Sure am glad I own an iPhone.

can you try with another custom rom?

So i hope someone responds to this.
My og Droid is stuck at the M logo. i can get into bootloader and Clockworkmod revoery mode, but i cant actually boot into the OS.
So when i first got it a few days ago, i did a factory reset. I then rooted it, which worked, and then installed rom manager. i made a back up twice to be sure, then tried to flash to Kfazz's Jellybean ROM. It said success, but after that i was in a boot loop. I read on how to fix this, but adb wont find the device until it is in the OS, so i popped out the battery and restored from my backup, but now it just stays at the M logo. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance

The M logo is the bootloader's logo. Since the droid has unlocked bootloader it is possible that something messed it up.
Can you restore the stock bootloader?

So i tried it and im not actually sure how to reset the bootloader. Thanks again and any help is always apprecieated.

Go into recovery and wipe data, cache, and dalvik cache. Then try and boot it up. If that fails download a new rom wipe everything above again, then flash the new rom, the m logo is not the bootloader nothin u did had anything with the bootloader. I have this problem once in a when flashin a kernel or new rom

Did you wiped cache/dalvik/data after flashing it in recovery ?
Of course, I did. the phone boots alright, but hangs up right away in few seconds, after notification area says "Preparing SDCARD".

boot is okay, I reach the home screen ( lock screen sometimes ) but Doing anything just hangs it itself. I'm now trying to roll back to stock via odin. Reflashed the cm9 multiple times with absolutely no use. Complimentarily, I wiped data / cache / dalvik /batt. stats everytime.
I hope u have flashed gapps also during the installation.and if it is not working and it is a pain now so go back to pre-rooted gb rom from the signature of sahil sir.then re-flash cm9.

Did Samsung take the phone, and replace the mobo no questions asked? Or did they charge you for the mobo?
Did you try to flash from stock ICS?
No. They Didnot charge me.

Can't revert to 3.2 after JB flash, Odin seems to work fine.

I may have waded in over my head and need help back. Curious to checkout the jellybean AOKP build. I flashed my Tab 8.9 LTE (SGH-i957) via odin. Now I'm stranded with it. Stupidly I didn't have Clockwork Mod recovery BEFORE doing this so I have no backup of my Honeycomb.
My i957 appears to be in a boot loop replaying the Android animation. I can boot from into Jelly Bean via CWM 5.5.0.4 recovery which I installed AFTER my initial JB flash.
I've tried reflashing the [ROM][3.2]Contingency ROM 3.2 numerous times as per http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1658243
Odin goes through the motions as expected, but it never boots past the Android animation. When shut off the green battery animation appears when plugged in as normal. I can boot into recovery and download modes of course.
I'm stuck on how to proceed. Is ClockworkMod Recovery complicating this? Can I switch to a stock recovery mode?
I've been picking through the forums. Trying this and that, but no success.
I'm using Windows XP. Kies will recognize a device but won't connect. Odin seems to be fine. I've used it before to root it and my previous Tab.

Sometimes first boot takes a long time. You are putting the stock rom in the pda slot right?
Other option is to let the battery drain

Thanks for the advice. Yes in the PDA slot without a doubt. I drained the battery - even pressing the power button until it stopped vibrating.
After a brief partial charge. I rebooted. Still no luck.

I flashed TWRP. Still the loop in normal boot. In recovery boot TWRP was successful flashed over CWM recovery. I tried flashing the stock ROM again. No change. I guess I asked for it. I'd be the first to say I'm in over my head, but I've never had issues before- all the way to my fun times with Maemo and my Nokia N800 & N810.
Is there another step for me? I suppose I could try on another PC, but Odin appears to working normally. I was able to successfully flash TWRP so I'm thinking that not going to help.

Yes I see that now in recovery mode. Rebooting from here still gives the AT&T loop.
What should I do else should I do from here to proceed? Reset? Wipe partition?

It has SGH-i957 on the rear, on the download mode screen and that how its always recognized by Google and by Kies (when it works). Its a U.S. AT&T LTE device. I've tried flashing again the ROM from Sammobile, but it still loops. Sigh.
It's BACK! A testament to never giving up and help from orlandoxpolice! In 3e I reset it and it rebooted.Honeycomb never looked so good.
Glad you fixed it. I was confused because odin to stock usually fixes everything.
Cheers

[Q] Bricked friend's Droid 3 (XT860)

Hey fellas, i'm desperate cos i've bricked my friend's droid 3 (XT860) while trying to flash cyanogen mod 10.1 to it.
I do not remember which version it was but i'm almost sure it was a 5.2.420 - Android 2.3.5.
I rooted the phone and flashed clockworkmod recovery using Rom Manager, wiped both data and cache, installed cyanogenmod 10.1 and gapps, and wiped data and cache again. After rebooting, the phone was stucked on the 'Dual Core' logo. I can go into recovery but i no longer have clockworkmod installed nor can i try to reinstall the ROM again.
After trying some stock flashing and getting a boot failure error message, im now with this AP Fastboot Flash Mode (S) (Boot Failure) Screen.
Could anyone please help me? It's my friend phone!
I'm sorry about my english.
Thank you for your time!
You can restore/unbrick it to the stock ROM, which will allow you to start over from a clean slate. I suggest using Safestrap instead of CWM/Rom Manager.

Unhelpful response is unhelpful. Though you have some good info in your signature:
Looks like you want to flash to the first ROM here: http://sbf.droid-developers.org/phone.php?device=21
Flashing instruction here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/...10GSijVrg/edit?pli=1#bookmark=id.rvj235ud4nkd

Do you have a better idea? Is the XT862 ROM going to brick his already bricked phone? Or give him a chance to boot it, and start with a somewhat working system (even if the radio etc. might not work correctly)... I don't claim to be a smart phone guru, but your response isn't very helpful.

If bootanimation appears, dont worry just wait for long time.try rebooting with battery replacement etc:both stock and androium takes a hell lot of time to boot for first time.or else you may try flashing CM roms or the nexus MM minimal ported by myself.the wont take much time to boot up :cheers

Both are same. A7000a is the model number and Lenovo A7000 Plus is official name of the Device.
I have tried two methods.
1st Method.
First I flash stock rom then I wipe data/cache/dalvik-cache.
2nd Method
I did same as above in this method but I wipe data/system/cache/dalvik-cache.
I have tried two method
1. Dowload only
2. Firware Upgrade
Third method format all didnt didnt work.
It shows some error.
A7000 and a7000plus are not the same.they got different architecture and kernel.a7000 got a 1.5ghz cpu whereas a7000plus got 1.5ghz,resembling to k3note.make sure you flash the proper firmware.choose firmware upgrade in spft.also i recomment flashing recovery only after first boot.if bootanimation appears it is likely to boot.

near broken phone after wipe

After I rooted my phone I decided to install a ROM in it. I Found MIUI 7 for the phone and with some instructions it told me to wipe the phone data, use custom recovery and install the .zip and it should be fine. but it went into a boot loop and never booted up. Then I went to download My-ROM v3.3 and still did not work. then I realised it needed the original EMUI to work.
So now I'm stuck here. its been 3 days and my phone still isn't working. my recovery is TWRP.
