I don't care that I'm posting this in the wrong thread. I need help and have been ignored for 2 days.
I tried flashing a KDZ the other night to get to GB, the phone took the Firmware and went to a P920, it didn't however go to GB. So I followed the steps and tried getting far with it.
So I'm stuck here, I've got firmware installed I THINK! With a P920 and no service and won't even read my SIM card.
H E L P! PLEASE. If I can't find someone to help fix, I'm going to be going to Taiwan with no phone, yet the less my wife and mother are going to kill me.
I don't know if the KDZ is on the phone and don't know how to tell.

Sounds like you flash the wrong kdz file. Go find the right file and flash it

You have P920 firmware on a P925 device.
Please answer the following.
Does the phone turn on?
Does the phone boot to the homescreen?
Are you on a GB baseband?
Do you have CWM installed?
Once you have answered the following, I can continue.

So I had an old cyanogen mod flashed on my phone and nothing was going wrong. I think I flashed it in late November 2010, early December 2010. So I was fine with that and then I got bored. So I flashed the Dilli ROM and the market stopped working so I flashed to Serendipity and that's where the real problem started. Every time I would get a call, I would lose service automatically and the call would fail. I just thought it was a problem with the way I flashed it. So I then flashed the Phoenix ROM hoping that would fix the dialer problem but it didn't. I am currently on the newest phoenix ROM and I can download apps from the market, send and receive texts, make calls and even use the internet. The only thing I can't do is receive calls. I know when a call is coming because the phone starts to ring but before it shows me who is calling, it automatically loses service and fails the call. Has anyone else ever had this problem? Is there anything I can do? Any information would really help. Thank you!!
Have you tried flashing to stock?

You might need to flash to stock then flash a different rom

The fact that you flashed multiple roms without knowing how to flash back to stock is idiotic. Flashing back to stock is the one thing you should know how to do because it can save your phone.
Read this ENTIRE guide and follow it step by step or you will continue to run into the problems you are having. These anomalies cant be diagnosed by us because your phone probably has files from numerous roms on it by now. Flashing back to stock and using a master clear allows you to diagnose issues much easier.

Hey noob, how about next time you post in the CM7 sticky instead of opening a new thread?

Because I'm an idiot
That's most likely the modem. Find out what modem CM7 uses and as long as it's the same base as you're using now (i9000/i897), find the CWM for that modem and flash it.

You call that a slam? Tearing him apart? You must be a liberal. The ROM-specific stickies are here for a reason. All these posts outside the stickies just make sharing that knowledge you speak of harder. Why is it so hard to comprehend that if there's a sticky with a dedicated subject that maybe that's where any posts on that subject should go? XDA is also about rules and they exist for the benefit of all.
Please use a search before opening a new thread or post rom questions in the provided Q&A rom thread.

I have a droid charge, and have no experience with LG's ....
My brother has a revolution running stock, and due to lag he wants root + room + kernel...
Now he has no idea on how to get any of this done, so he asked me ...
So I need help with:
-revolution rooting method step by step
-how to get a working version of CWM on the revolution (links please)
-Most stable ROM
-Most stable kernel
I know it is a lot to ask, but I will only have the phone with me for a couple of hours this weekend to get this done.
I will be thanking every helpful post, but i wanted to thank any help offered in advance.
Take a look in the development section. There are quite a few step by step procedures there.
Sent from my VS910 4G using XDA
as previously said, check the development section. check what version of GB your bro has, eg 2.3.4 or 2.3.6. if he has 2.3.4 its easy to root and flash everything. MT's guide as to do everything can lead the noobest noobs to very acceptable revo.
Sent from my ASUS Transformer Pad TF300T using XDA Premium HD app
I asked him, and apparently he is on 2.3.4 ... so one question what would be a stable 2.3.6 rom at this moment for the revo? With what kernel?

I honestly don't mind helping people. There are however two previous posts that direct him to the correct forum with all the answers he needs. I was putting it into words he could understand because obviously the last two posts trying to help were futile in their attempts. Not being a jerk, it's just not hard to find the info you need on here. It's not like it's a huge forum with 1,000's of posts to go through.

Got it done, and not thanks to your temper. All I asked was for a general recommendation of what ROM, Kernel, rooting method to use. I never had a LG Revolution, so I had no idea of the issues and bugs on Roms, kernel, or rooting methods for it .... If cant say anything useful just hold you 12 year old mouth shut!

Hello! New member here so please excuse me if I'm posting to the wrong forum or anything like that.
Not to take long of your time, I can't get my phone to boot. It shows the 2 LG logos and won't proceed beyond that. So I need to know if there's a way to flash a ROM and a Recovery with it like that.
Thanks for the help.

Just flash a stock rom and wipe your data. That's all!
Try giving a good title. Writing urgent wont make it. You have to give a clue of your prob so that people here could easily know if they could help or not.
Hope that helps. Just sharing what I learned from posting on XDA.

Hello guys,
I have a motorola milestone from Brazil, and I used to have a chip from TIM working normally (at 1800 Mhz band). Until then, I was on cyanogenmod 7 but it was to laggy, then I tried to install Telus lite 5.2 rom (eclair). Till then, I can´t get anymore my chip from TIM working again. I put other chips (CLARO), and they work normally. I changed from androidani menu the baseband and tried others baseband fixers. I recover my nandroid backup and the problem remains. In fact, my question is: Is it a problem with my phone or with the operator? May I be blocked or something, once it says that this operator is unavailable, when I try to set manually from settings menu? Every other things on my phone are working perfectly, like wifi, gps, but with this operator, I can´t get registered. Anyone could, please, explain what could be happening?
Is it a technical problem, I see now that TIM (1800) or CLARO (900/1800) so maybe its working only at 900 band.. Is it possible or it´s a block from operator?
Thanks in advance for reading and awaiting a possible answer!!
Someone please give me a light!! Anticipated thankssss

At this point I if I were you I'd go into recovery wipe data, wipe cache, do a factory reset, and then flash back to the stock factory image.
I tried already shimp208. I deleted everything, all 3 wipes, but I´m not getting to connect with RSD-lite. When I put in download mode, it appears as SF flash OMAP 3040 and I get flash bootloader, but the sbf files from stock rom from Brazil I didn´t get, cause the button "start" appears gray. When with the phone turned on, I can get MTP driver from motorola, so I thing it´s not being recognized by RSD-lite. Any other suggestion?? Pleasseeee?? Thanks in advance!!!

Are you falshing the SBF on windows or linux? I'd try using linux if your currently using Windows and see if that helps at all. Sometimes SBF on windows can be quite stubborn.

I made it shimp, through windows.. I installed sbf from stock thank God, but, anyway, Im only working at 900 gsm band, I suppose. I would glad to know if its an issue from my phone that get locked to this baseband (900) or if it was blocked by operators to work with their bands (850 and 1800).. Do u know if there's some zip to get radio reinstalled or something? Thanks in advance!

So the more I think about the more I think I might have an better idea of what to do. You said you tried the other SBF and it started ok but didn't get registered on the network so that leads me to believe it defiantly related to carrier network operation not the phone hardware being defective. It's possible that when you switched SIM cards that it did trigger a network block from the other carrier and that is is locking you out even though you switched back. I would recommend taking a look at these links for to unlock the SIM:
How to Unlock Motorola & enter Subsidy code instantly / Remove "SIM Network Unlock"
http://sim-unlock.net/sim-lock/75/Unlock_for_any_New_Motorola_Defy_Flipout_Milestone/
If that doesn't fix it then you could take it to technical support and explain the situation to them, and perhaps they can re-setup your phone to work with their network.
Well... I guess it´s not my problem, cause it doesn´t ask for any unlock code.. After all this, I suppose that or technical support as you said, or maybe carriers have locked my phone by imei, and it happened after I installed Telus lite v5.2....On that thread, it said that was take off some frequencies to get more lite as possible, but if wanted could be replaced the other frequencies with a zip.. but it never worked.. .. The strange part is that one of them is ok.. And it´s from 900 Mhz frequency.. I´ll try technical support at first.. Thank you so much shimp, for all your patience and support.. I´ll let you know if I get it working again.. Bye for now!!
