Hi everybody!
After installing the DocRom XXJPO v9 with lagfix Ext4 ALL (a=e4), schedule kernel, I/O, etc.. and tweaks, and I get 1563 in Quadrant's benchmark(I've just installed, i never ran the test before)...It's a very low value, isn't it?What am I doing wrong?
Thanks!
Take test scores with a grain of salt. It's not the best way of assuming something is wrong with your phone.

Actually if u look at the other scores unless something has changed I'm pretty sure that is still the highest s ore on that list. No worries.

Uh, yea. I get something between 900 and 1000 depending on the day with official 2.2. Mostly I assume down to the piss poor filesystem speed. It almost always looks like it has hung on the writing test.
Thanks for the responses!
I've read that some people got 2000 and even a little bit more. I guess they overclocked!!

People may be using an overclock but to the people with the 2000+ scores are using the EXT2 binds option/OCLF.
When using OCLF quadrants shows huge scores in the filesystem part whereas it may not reflect the actual performance of the phone.
Personally so far, hardcores new K10C kernel is by far the fastest I've used yet. He's updates a few things in K10C and my phone is really, really fast. You notice it more in the app drawer and when the phone is under load. I'm also using the all EXT4 option.
You should give K10C a go and see for yourself.
Paul, I'll have to wipe to install this new kernel?
... Quadrant scores are pretty meaningless. Only be worried if you feel lag when you're using the phone.
my scores breach 2000(by 3) but im not overclocked. look at my signature
I'll try this new kernel, PaulForde, thanks for the tip!
nwsk, you're totally right, but sometimes I notice some little lag in my live wallpaper, and I don't have lots of apps in background. That's what made me think about it, install Quadrant and compare the results with some others.
By the way racerboy3801, I see you have BUJP8 v9 installed...[offtopic]Have you noticed any differences with JPA/JPO?[/offtopic]
I had a chance to try it in corp store, but the result is disappointing.
Only 15xx? Are you kidding me?
With same Tegra 2 CPU, my A7 can achieve 2400-2500.
What is yours?
Is your A7 running stock firmware?
Quadrant is 1995 on stock.
Quadrant 1867 37.769 Linpack
As I thought dualcore means nothing reason I love my Nexus s with its 2825 quadrant score people better wake up as to the marketing that's going on

1913 for my Streak7. Tested right after restarting.
1900- ish with about 250 MB RAM available....
39-ish on Linpack...
For those that may not know...
The quadrant score doesnt really mean anything right now. Reason being; Froyo doesnt support dual core, so until HC gets ported, you will never see the full potential, even though its already there. Anf even when it does get ported, it really depends on which filesystem we get this running on a custom oc kernel. For instance, etc3 has trouble with the read/write db, even though the kernel is super fast. And rfs and jfs dont have that issue as much, but usually arent as fast as say a voodoo kernel.
Dont rely on quadrant or linpack. Right now, but not for long, the DS7 has the fastest processor on an android tablet, but we cant even use it to its full potential. This is why I know we will get HC, its just a matter of when we will get an official release from Dell/T-Mobile.

Thank you for clearing this up. I did read about Quadrant and 2.2 not supporting Dual Core a few months back.

yea dude i love that phone
I'm at 2350 on the stock Bell 2.3.6 firmware.
Rooted and debloated but no overclock.
single core
This may be a stupid question not sure im pretty well versed in android anyway quadrant standard only shows one core on system info anyone know why? Is this normal?
Mine is 2332 running SteelDroid 4.0 with not a lot of debloat done to it.

Quadrant is pretty garbage imo. I keep seeing videos on youtube of 2 phones starting quadrant at the same time, 1 phone finishing 5-10 seconds ahead of the other but still losing the benchmark #'s with most results (fps in the testing) appearing the same. If it was decent the faster phone would always get the higher benchmark, 2 phones render 1k frames, phone 1 in 10 seconds, phone 2 in 20, fps on phone 1 must be higher... etc etc I'd try maybe smartbench or glbenchmark

I've started using antutu benchmark since it breaks the score down and allows you to run custom tests

If you're looking for other benchmark apps with other numbers I found this thread where a user posted a list of benchmarks on an optimus 3d (basically same hardware as our phone) after installing an optimus 2x performance tweak. Good for the list of benchmarks and numbers for you to compare, thread is here

Ultimately - I think not?
If the phone feels quick, and it runs your programes then i would not worry about benchmarking... But if it feels slow and sluggish, then i would try out one of the many benchmarking programes out there, and see if there truely is a problem...
I have tryed it a cauple of times and found that my note ran perfectly well, and that it was I whos was mistaken..

They are good tools to tweak your phone as long as you know what look for but of course one single benchmsrk cannot tell the whole story so I use a combination of benchmarks and applications that i am familiar with when evaluating rom/kernels or overclocking settings.

It surely does make no difference if you score high or low. What matters is that you should be satisfied with ur phones performance.

what i really noticed is that the memory and I/O scores are kernel specific and the more scores you have the more fast the operations on ur phone becomes..
i personaly have achieved highest scores of I/O using notecore /hydracore
This one is really not important. Haha.
Leave this app eversince I bought my notes.
As long as smooth, good battery life, what else u need?
U win nothing even if ur benchmark higher from others.

So, i'm getting a really low 3D Mark score for a "gaming" device like this, i think that Nvidia do something wrong with the Tegra 3 GPU, i got it running at 650Mhz and i get like 3000 points... other devices on the same range get a lot better scores... what to do to get better 3D on our 4X?
Well this is my score...I'm not sure our much other devices get, but from the results our O4X is in the same range as the Note 2...so I guess that those results aren't that bad...
Btw I used the official CM10.1.0 rom with stock cm kernel...

Are you running anything else? I ran at stock speeds (no overclock anything) and got 4100-4200 on five straight runs. I have no idea what a normal score for the Tegra 3 is supposed to be.
I get same result. My kernel nothing touched from defaults.
I think it is ok all tegra 3 devices get similar scores one x+ gets about 3800.

for benchmarking, stock rom > aosp rom > cm based roms > other roms, from my experience. even when you bring custom kernels to the table, it's the same.
edit:
f.e., on quadrant, stock with custom kernels could go around 6100, aosp rom we have went to 5500, cm based went up to 4800, while others went up to 4500.
Stock with what customs? Im using iodak is there a begter kernel? Mc4 lags as hell even at 520mhz gpu a 1600mhz cpu

yeah, that might be the issue. unfortunately, tegra3 in our phone didn't quite live up to my expectations, which sux since even nexus7 has better performance than our phone. didn't try dead space either, so cant really tell. i did try vice city and nfs, they ran quite good on stock for me.

Does it? 3DMark benchmarks disagree.
I did manage to reproduce the OP's results though. I installed TegraOverclock and suddenly my 3DMark results were the same as the ones he posted. If I uninstall it I get the attached image.

and i can post my image of benchmark with 3200 score, overclocked . since my score is as valid as yours, we might as well take the average that's on the website - and the average number says that nexus7 performs better than o4x.
on the other hand, i dont game much these days, and the games i do run, run well enough. so, it's just a benchmark, a number; however i have expected tegra3 in this phone to have higher number than tablet with practically identical chip in it

While it is indeed just a number, it does actually measure something. Unless my configuration is somehow exploiting it specifically to achieve those scores, you might wish to see why you underscore so much and fix it. The phones are identical after all, and no one is talking about fancy coolers or the like as exists in PCs.

I did some testing, and may have the answer for you. The vanilla iodak sets the CPU to 1.7GHz and the 3D and 2D GPU to 520MHz, all of which are maximum values, hence the very good 3DMark scores. If you use an app such as TegraOverclock and set those values you should get the same scores or at least very close to them. I did notice that any attempt to apply an overclock to the GPU was instantly rejected. If I tried to set it to 600MHz it was immediately set at... 300MHz, so as far as I can tell, 520 is the highest possible.

it puts to 300mhz because is the minimun, in 520mhz the minimun is 200...
Edit: flashed back V20C, getting 3570 stock, i will flash Iodak again.. and test... without donwloading tegra overclock...
Edit again, this is with iodak v6 stock settings it seems that thegra overclock app reduces the performance of our devices...
Stock kernel has its gpu running at 200mhz base, scaling up to 416. Custom kernels can increase that, which leads to higher scores. I got 4k by increasing gpu to 520mhz. I don't see how just having tegra oc installed could break anything
