Try Lock 2.0 or Lockbot
i have both pro versions, I like how much you can customize lockbot but lock 2.0 has the music control that i love so much...
I like lockbot because there are more alternatives that do not look like the iphone.
He has also fixed the force close issue with his last update.
I need a way to disable screen rotation for some application, how can i do that? The app. is iphone today (dll version).

I'm using the last version /1.5.3/...and yes, it has this option, but there is some bug. If you know the today plugin- "Motohome" .. it hasn't landscape mode..and my idea is the same...i want to disable the landscape of Iphone today or Manila.
so I have found like 200 programs that will change the lock screen for my Captivate .. but they are pretty useless.
I love LockBot but it only works about 20% of the time.. most of the time I get the standard lock screen witch does not have a separate background , and also not safe most of the time, seems to unlock itself too easy..
it seems that lockbot for example, only comes up a few times, then stops, and then starts working agian.. and i thought it was the app killer programs but I uninstlled ALL of them just to make sure that it was not the problem..
ideas.. tricks. help? is there a way to change the lock by something that has to do with root or something like that?

There's a free app in the Market called "No Lock." You could try using that to disable the stock Captivate lockscreen.
Widget locker + root + "no lock" = sexy lock screen replacement
I run NoLock, and it always works. Never had any issues with it. Only need to unlock when I reboot

the no lock thing works all the time, but any external lock program seems to stop working, and thats the problem.
but i reset my phone to default and it seems to be working fot the time, i have no idea what stoped it.. we will see.

This works for me, catches it about 95% of the time. Only difference is, I don't use no lock.

You don't use no lock? How do you deal with the occasional moments of stock lock screen?

the lockscreen and homescreen only rotates when you have it connected to the dock. Curently you cannot rotate the the lockscreen, homescreen and app menu screen. This is a restriction that the xperia home launcher has, you can install an alternative home launcher from the the play store if you want to have the rotate function. Development for this phone is slow at the moment because of the issues that arise when you unlock the bootloader, once Sony sorts this, im sure a dev will be able to enable the function.
Use Ultimate Rotation Control from the play store.
You can set a rule that it forces landscape while in dock. It's working perfectly for me.
