Anyone seen this? With my Droid 1, once I paired it with Ford Sync in my Escape, as long as the blue tooth was on on the phone, the connection between the Droid 1 and Sync would just start automatically.
Now, with my Droid 3, sometimes it does and sometimes it doesn't. If it doesn't I can force it to connect by activating the phone menu. Then it says it can't find the device, I will try to connect one. It successfully connects. Same if I ask for blue tooth audio. It will establish the connection on demand. That's OK except that if I have an incoming call. Any ideas?
Update your Sync software? http://www.syncmyride.com/
I know mine was kinda crappy until I updated it. What car/sync do you have?
Oh, and wipe out everything too. Redoing it from scratch helps.

The car is a 2010 Ford Escape Ltd. SyncMyRide says I have "Sync VersionGen1 - V3.1" if that means anything to you. I know I updated it once a few months after I got it in July 2010.

Hi, my main phone is a Desire, but I am helping my brother set up his new Nexus One. I am very familiar with the OS, but am having problems getting Gmail to sync properly. For some reason, it only seems to sync when plugged in!
This is using WiFi and 3G connections. I have checked all the obvious settings (yes, WiFi is set not to sleep)
I have both phones unplugged, and send an email to each. The Desire gets it (the LED blinks right away) while the N1 doesn't. But as soon as I plug the N1 in, and the lock screen is unlocked, the email comes in.
There has to be something I am missing here! Please let me know if you have any ideas. Using the OTA 2.2 update, and LauncherPro, if that matters. Everything else is stock, since I just did a hard reset trying to figure out the issue.
Thanks!
Can anyone confirm whether this is a bug in the 2.2 firmware?

Definitely not. Sync works just fine for me.
I have no idea how I am going to troubleshoot this.. Any ideas?
OK it seems to sync fine on 3G, but not Wifi, when the screen is off. So even though we have WiFi set to never sleep, it is sleeping anyway it seems.
Ever since I updated to the latest update which is 4.4.2 as of now, my built in Bluetooth for my car keeps disconnecting and connecting to my phone.
I've tried various resets and reconfiguring the profiles and connecting the Bluetooth and still nothing. It always disconnects and connects nonstop every minute.
Before this it wouldn't do that. It would connect without a problem and stay connected with no issues.
Anyone know what the deal is? I've asked HTC but like always their customer service doesn't know crap about anything.

Also it's a 2013 Mercedes. I doubt the system is outdated.

Just submit a technical support email via the HTC website. I've already sent one for an NFC issue not being able to send webpages and URLs to other devices. The more issues you report, the faster they can get to resolving them.

Are you using completely stock? I know Bluetooth is one of those things that the custom ROMs have a bit more issues with, and I recall seeing that some of the kernels required updates for Bluetooth functionality.
Ive tried everything but rooting and going custom again. Don't think that will solve it. It doesn't stay connected and no calls can be made or received. I've seen it was an issue with nexus phones with the same update.

You've stated that you tried everything, but can you see if you can connect only as an audio device and not Handsfree or Messaging? While not ideal, it helps rule out some potential points of failure.
It's always connected as hands-free.

You're not alone. Since upgrading to 4.4.2 on a bone stock HTC One, I have had the same disconnect issues or better described, it constantly pairs and unpairs, and my contacts will now longer load, I have a 2012 BMW 328i with iDrive. I tried the latest firmware update for my iDrive, but the problems persist. A Google search shows scores of Nexus users who have upgraded to Kit Kat and have lost their bluetooth because of the exact same issues. However, I'm not seeing very many HTC One owners running 4.4.2 with Bluetooth connectivity issues under 4.4.2. I've counted only 5 thus far - you, me, and 3 others.
My wife's Galaxy Note 3 connects to my car with no issues, I've been looking , but have yet to found a solution.
I briefly had a problem connecting to my car stereo after 4.4.2, but the problem was that it would no longer auto connect. I found out that in 4.4 now shutting of Bluetooth on my phone when not in use prevents it from auto connecting to the stereo when I turn it back on, so I just leave it on all the time and it works well.
All stock btw
For whatever it's worth...

I understand that Handsfree is the goal. If you disable Handsfree on your phone, and attempt to connect as only an audio device, is it successful?
Just trying to help debug things. The only Mercedes that I can use as a reference is an older model. I have successfully used my 4.4.2 phone with several vehicles, so I'd like to get a handle on where the problem is to help offer a solution.
I may have fixed my problems - I've had bluetooth working in my car (2012 BMW I-Drive Nav) for the past 2 days, My HTC One with 4.4.2 OTA pairs as soon as I start my car, my contact list loads up within 3 minutes, my inbound and outbound call history appears, and my emails are copied to my car for voice translation.
i think the problem was duplicate google contacts. For some reason, I had 2-3 duplicates of all my goggle contacts on my cellphone, all probably caused by failed sync sessions. I looked at my linked contacts setting under the contact list menu and manually deleted 344 duplicate google entries from my cell phone. I took the phone back to my car, started it up, and to my surprise, the contact list loaded up quickly.
Previously, my bluetooth would pair with my car, but would unpair after 5 minutes while trying to download my contacts. It would disconnect after 1 minutes while in a call but also while trying to download my contacts. Now that it's able to download my smaller contact list successfully, it stays paired and I have not had any disconnects while in conversation.
Hopefully, it stays fixed. If it doesn't, then my next step is to delete my Facebook and Linked In contacts which I really don't need. Give this a try. Perhaps it will work for you as it did for me.

Million thanks! It finally works . I never thought the contacts would be the issue, I cleaned up my contacts and removed Facebook sync and after a few hours it's been connected without any issues. Thanks!

I'm glad it worked out for you. I'm on my 3rd day with a reduced contact list and so far, no new issues. Now all I need to do is find an app that does a better job of managing my contact list. HTC Sense makes it very easy to add and accumulate in my contact list, but cleaning it it out and keeping it clean is a painstaking process.
Glad that fixed it!
crap! this solution also worked on my galaxy note 2. :good:
Anyone else having trouble connecting to Motorola Connect? It hasn't worked in a few days for me. My Chrome is up to date. I've tried installing and uninstalling. I've got a rooted Verizon Moto Maker edition on 4.4.
After 444 tonight I had huge issue tried everything... Then I turned off Wi-Fi and let it sync using Mobile data and that worked. Turned Wi-Fi back in and it still works.... Funny don't know why that worked but try and see if that helps

I've been having problems with MotoConnect for the last couple of weeks. It will open fine and then the plugin will crash or I get several messages about not being able to communicate with the Motorola servers. As the above poster mentioned, sometimes if all else fails turn off the WIFI and see if it will connect with mobile data, assuming, of course, you can get a cellular signal where your at.
Hi all,
Purchased the watch couple days ago, yesterday was my first day to really put it through it's paces. Everything seems copacetic except for the WiFi syncing. I've got cloud sync turned on in the Wear app, and WiFi on the watch is set to "Automatic". I verified the watch is indeed connected to a valid WiFi network, with no exclamation points, etc., and I turn off BT on my phone (but keep it's data connection on.) I then try sending a text from the watch, no luck - "Try again from your phone." fail message. I send myself a text from my wife's phone to my phone, the phone registers it, but the watch doesn't. I go into Keep and delete a note on the phone, the watch still shows it. It's not until they reconnect via BT that everything syncs again. Oh, and I tried it on three different WiFi networks (2 at work, 1 at home), no success.
Here's the only thing that I can think of being different. The very first time I turned WiFi off on the watch, there's was a small Yes/No splash screen that came up saying something to the effect of "turning this off will prevent you from syncing"... I THINK. Honestly I can't recall what it said precisely (I was too excited playing with the watch), but the multiple times I've toggled WiFi since then, I have not seen that message again. Anyone know what message I'm talking about? Of course since it hasn't come up again I'm convinced it's the reason WiFi syncing isn't working now. I even factory reset the watch and cleared the data on my Wear app, hoping to get that message back. (It could be completely unrelated, it's just bugging me that ever since I chose "Yes I'm sure", syncing has not worked.)
Thanks in advance for any ideas/suggestions.

Did you ever figure this out?
I have the LG WATCH R with the Urbane rom and have the same issue. It shows connect to Wifi just fine but if I am away from the phone, I cannot send anything...just like when I have no connection.
I think the pop up you mentioned just had a option to prevent the warning from coming up again but should not affect the option to disable and enable the cloud sync.
Nope, afraid not. I posted it to the Google Android wear forums and a couple of "experts" replied to me with suggestions that did not help (factory reset, mainly.)

Yep that has been my "solutions" too so far. I am not sure how the Cloud Sync works do you? It is linked to your Google account? If so, I have 3 email accounts..could that create an issue? I am basically looking for anything right now
Here's what I did find out: my daily driver phone is a Moto X 2nd gen running Lollipop. I factory reset an old Samsung S4 and set it up with a Google account I'd just created. I then factory reset the watch and paired it to that phone. Wouldn't you know, the WiFi notifications worked!
I then factory reset the S4 again, this time using my main Google account to set it up. Factory reset the watch again also. After pairing them, the WiFi notifications did NOT work!
So, I can only conclude the issue is caused by how I have my main Google account configured, although right now I've gone through all the settings twice and verified that I have all of my sharing settings (like location) enabled. Argh.

Well my LG Watch R is now able to work with Wifi for real but only at home. Not sure what I did...I just deleted my accounts from Settings and added them back.
At work, though even when it shows connected, I do not receive any info from the Phone which is very lame since it was at work where I could really use it.

I have 3 google accounts so I actually deleted only two that are not my primary. Then I went to the Sync options and made sure all was checked.
Then also for the Location I removed any other devices that are showing under my account that are not my Phone (tablet and older phones) but not sure which one of those did the trick.

Huh, okay, I'll give those a try. Thanks.
I did open a ticket with Android Wear Support and was told they were going to escalate the issue and I'd be contacted in 48 hours. That was Sunday. I just asked for an update and they replied that they have no solution ATM and no time frame to provide one. Heh! Oh well.
I just got a V40 ThinQ yesterday and after I got done setting it up I went to go home and quickly realized that this phone doesn't pick up the Sync Bluetooth system in a 2012 Ford. I tried syncing it through the USB port in the car it told me that the phone was an unsupported device. Am I just going to have to wait for an update that will allow this phone to be supported by that system?

Reboot the whole system on your car. I have 2012 Ford Fusion and had that same issue wgen I first got the V30 last year. Also had it pop up when I got the G7. Bluetooth can sometimes be weird with LG devices and Sync.
I gotcha, how would I reboot the system? Do I just Master reset in the system settings?

You can do that if you want but you will lose all your sound settings and any program ex AM/FM presets you have set. Sync reboot is right after master rest or at least it is on my car.
I Googled how to reboot Sync but all it pulled up was master reset.
Same here, I did the master reset and it surprisingly kept all my presets and sound settings. I found out that I was actually missing a step to connect my phone. It didn't have anything to do with the phone or the radio, just human error. Thanks for helping me out though, really appreciate it.
