If this is true, this will include the v20o baseband as well. Which can be extracted by flashing it with this tool, and look for the files in the temporary directory while flashing (AENEAS_FW.fls, psi.fls, R375_SIC.fls and slb.fls). How do you know it is based on v20o, since you are running it and can confirm the issues are not there? Or have you confirmed it some other way?

I have extracted the baseband files from the CIS v20b KDZ. They are different sized files from V20m baseband, but still show as baseband 1035.21_20110725
The build.prop says ro.build.date=Wed Jan 25 15:02:00 MSK 2012, so it looks like it is the most recent build to be released. I'll leave it to one of the experts to do all the deodexing etc...
Editied to put the RIL in the zip along with the fls files.

If you still have the ROM in your phone, can you please upload the RIL as well - if you don't mind?

Now, if anybody could try and flash the bb, and see if you can get Fastdormancy complete with any of the v20o roms + ril out there it would mean I can finally leave my old v20m rom alone. Don't have time for this today

The ROM isn't actually odexed in the first place, so I might actually try making a CWM zip out of it, or at least a few bits of it. Cooking up a whole ROM is still a bit beyond me

How did you extract the bb. Using the r&d tool

if you can provide it, i will deodex, root and share

Flashed BB and RIL. BB is as usual 1035.21_20110725 .
It works, able to connect network. Can't say anything about call quality though. I copied the RIL using root explorer and restarted.
Both GETRIL and LG RIL Version identified it as unknown. Sent it to Trym Hansen so that he can include it in the next version.
PS. ROM right now is Flexbomb by Civato. The built in V 20 l/m RIL too works with this BB.

YES SIR..!!! Ofcourse I will do..

Feeling quite pleased with myself, I just managed to take the KDZ from this and Hell_97's v20o CWM zip, and make a working CWM flashable version of the Russian v20b
There would still be so much work to do on it to make something I could release on here, it does make me appreciate the devs who spend so much time tweaking their ROMS for the community.

Really? Strange.
I have downloaded this kdz file sometime back, not knowing what it is, from LG site. It is 215 MB
Both the links shows different file sizes. ( 134.32 and 125.9 respectively)

Thanks. My ADSL broke two days ago, so that's why there's not been any database updates. Will take at least two more days to get it fixed. (Writing this from a tethered O2x on EDGE :-()

[MOD] CM7 update Baseband RIL

It came to my attention from Tayutama in the CM7 nightlies thread that alot of people's problems with CM7 is issues with the new baseband we have all upgraded to. I went ahead and tested the newer basebands RIL with CM7 and voila! alot of bugs have been fixed and everything is running *MUCH* better now.
Edit:
Paul posted a patch for this awhile ago that I didn't realise, heres the link:
RIL Update
Hope it helps you, cause it surely helped me.
Credits to Paul for the patch.
could you elaborate on the specific bugs resolved by this?
Thank you.
aMpeX
does this change the baseband then? or does it just fix issues with baseband 405?
Thanks a lot.
Will i have to run this fix everytime i upgrade to a new nightly (or stable)?
This does not change the baseband, what it does it update the RIL in CM7 to be more compatible with the 405 baseband.
Thanks a lot.

Unfortunately, yes. Until cm_arcee decides to update his baseband and the reflect the source changes in CM7, we have to keep using this.
I can't determine how many bugs its solved since I only applied the fix an hour ago, but operation seems much smoother and not as many *hiccups*.

Hi,
I can't flash booth zip files(modaco/XDA). I'm getting a error(bad).
Hey dudes, the zip file is incomplete - the update-binary and update-script is totally missing...
Interesting is the libraries are same on size but different inside. So where you get it?
i've manually put the lge-ril.so and also the libril.so from Fr15 inside my CM /system/lib.
3 hours the phone is running without reboots, freeze, loss of sounds or problems of any kind.
Without this fix I experienced a lot of sleep of death and frequent loss of sound.
Hope this can help
Here is what I've done

[Q] Optimus 2x, BB,Ril,Rom ??

Hi Guys,
I'm currently running the lastest CM Nightly and have never changed Baseband or Kernel.
The question is should i? and is there a better rom to be using?
Hi!
I believe you've got a good ROM now. The latest CM nightly is pretty good I think so there is no need to change that. (Although, you could try Temaseks CM7 KANG, but that's just my opinion , link in signature btw)
BB is another story though. You should ask yourself: Do I have good signal and call quality? If so, then there's no need to change it. At least I wouldn't change it. What I would try to change is your RIL (if it's necessary though). Download the GetRIL app on the market and let it check if your RIL and BB match. If they match then keep it that way . If not change it using that app.
Kernels on the other hand are optional. If you want to overclock your CPU, or if you want a ramhack then you should flash a kernel. Right now I believe you've got stock CM kernel on your phone, which is pretty good, but not the best. Take a look at the ETaNa Kernel thread, (link in signature) There you'll find more information about what this kernel does with your phone.
Oh and one more thing, you don't HAVE TO change your rom etc. I mean, it's not like we're forcing you to change it right? When you're happy with what you have right now, why don't you keep it like that? But, it's your choice obviously

cheers guys, where can i find the latest basebands as my call & signal quality isn't great
I think the first thing you should try (also because it's the easiest thing to do) is to get "GetRIL" app from gmarket or gplay or whatever it's called now and see if your RIL and BB match. If they don't, get the matching RIL and see if that has improved quality. If it has, great, no further action necessary... if it hasn't then you can proceed to experimenting with different BB

Also, not every BB works perfectly on every phone, country and provider... So yeah, as said before, first try a matching RIL and then look if you connection improves...
i've got the getril app and its showing that i dont have matching ril and bb but when i downloaded it to be matching and it actually caused me to drop more calls and have other problems,
restored so they arent matching but im getting better reception and generally internet works most of the time.
so my question whats the point of them both supposed to be matching?

In the post that I have posted for the baseband are also the RIL to flash!
So, did you try to put this new RIL? Any improvements?
Like SP1996AC and I said, you should have started by changing only the RIL. This is the easiest of the operations and could have fixed your problem.
Like they say in America, you start by picking the low hanging fruit first.
You climbed the tree and found out that the fruit on the top wasn't good... now you have to climb down again and try the other fruit.

Thanks for the reply. I did try the suggested rail but it was worse which is why I went back to a mismatch. I will try the other combinations but at the moment its working OK so might stick to this until the weekend.

if everything is working then don't touch it. if you have problems with static noise during call then it's baseband problem - some of us had that, as cm7 overwrite your baseband with 218 one and not every phone is happy with that baseband. it's essential if you have nandroid of your original rom. reflash it and check which was your original baseband. then return back to CM7, find correct baseband (there's excellent thread by our local hero, tonyp. you have link in previous posts) and flash just a baseband. use getril to find correct RIL. or feel free to experiment with different basebands, but once again, if everything is working okay then don't touch it.
CM7 does not change your baseband, only the RIL.
As stated before, use Getril to make sure the baseband and RIL match. Only change your baseband if you're having battery/reception issues.

I noted that into the phone-info screenshots the amount of reported available ram can be different by some megabytes, sometimes it appears to be 420, sometimes 404 (mine has 404 mb of ram).
Is this dependent by the baseband/ril ?

I don't think so....
Yes, I found myself that the baseband is irrelevant to that.
I installed two different baseband and the amount of reported ram remained constant. Apparently the only parameter that can affect that is the ramhack parameter.

[Q] Europe Open v20B Changelog?

Hi,
was surfing internet and saw that there is a new firmware for Europe Open
http://www.lg-phone-firmware.com/index.php?id_mod=15
Last time tried v20A, some bugs (sometimes no data connection, power button not resposive, power drain).
Any user with feedback for this v20B?
Anyone with link to changelog?
Need my phone to be stable with constant data connection and good battery life. So will wait for feedback. Thanks.
indeed & a downloadable .kdz-file
what can you do with a kdz file??
edit:
I also found this link https://mega.co.nz/#!aM03DRyL!fU7VLzge7Fa6mjfJX-GpcRyLqxJuporJlvuoUQWPaQk
also a V20B, but a smaller filesize.. ???
I took the risk and installed 20B, using this method http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2069723
You really have to read all before going, because I almost lost it half way.... but finally succeeded.
Android 4.1.2
Kernel 3.1.10
Build JZO54K
Software P88020b-EUR-XXX
So far so good. I really hope for better battery performance.

I picked the one from LG firmware and I also could not find a changelog.
No visible changes, 4.1.2 remains. Maybe some kernel adjustments?
I flashed it back when bigboypl leaked it few days ago, found no obvious difference to 20a
In V20A there is also the same kernel 3.1.10 build JZO54K. Only 3 MB difference between V20A and V20B.
Most noticeable change in V20B is Master Key Vulnerability fix.

if it's the same as leak, it's not fully patched. without going into details, only one of the two vulnerabilities is fixed, and that vulnerability is reportedly already fixed in 20a. more info can be found on a thread by @BigBoyPL with leaked 20b.

I was running on V20A (Zaiben actually) and it wasn't fixed, that's why I have created the modified core.jar.
Guyz you probably not following lg normal firmwares. V20B for Europe, Baltics and others is available.

Does the official Europe v20b have any improvements?
Sent from my LG-P880
Why there is no V20B at LG Mobile Support Tool ?
Is lg-phone-firmware.com official source of LG Firmware ?

Yeah, LG would put a "donate" button on their website for sure
as a non-developer user, the only changes I noticed was more bloatwares (google books, google movies )
I just deleted the bloatwares and installed eprj kernel, no changes in performance or anything, don't know about bug fixes.I recommend you guys to not install it, you'll have lots of bloatwares to deal with
Update is available also in B2C system. Look at this:
