I just got my new Bionic and was updated to 902.
I rooted the device and was doing a restore (using Titanium) of some apps I had on my original Droid.
By accident, I restored ADW Launcher - which I didn't want.
How do I get rid of it? I can't uninstall it, and can't seem to flash a stock ROM since I can't find one that works with 902.
Any help?
Uninstall or freeze with titanium?
Tried to uninstall via Titanium, but when I reboot it is still there...
The issue is that now ADW Launcher is my launcher - and I can't get the stock launcher back. somehow, I think ADW replaced the stock launcher. How do I get it back?
Try using r3l3ased and for3v3r root to go all the way back then path saver to bring you back up to date. Or install the liberty rom because it lets you install Blur

Can i install liberty on 902? That sounds like the easiest way forward...

I believe so. I have a thread named path saver that links to instructions on how to install path saver and liberty with .902. You can find it in bionic general. For some reason, the original thread that I linked to was in general android development and not bionic development. I swear xda needs better moderators because the bionic page is so disorganized.

Try home switcher for blur don't remember the exact name but I believe that should do it or try cleared ng defaults first the downloading that app

You could also try HomeSmack

Hello fellow xda members. I had a problem the other day. I installed sgs tools and tried downloading a different launcher. It loaded the launcher fine but I wasn't satisfied. I tried restoring it but it gives the error "folder not found." I was wondering if anybody knows how to reinstall the built in default tw launcher and if I can possibly restore the layout.

I'm sure you could find the apk with a search.
Are you running a custom rom?
No, I'm runnin default android 2.2 froyo. Rooted, but nand backup doesn't work either. A few months ago, I tried backing up with rom manager, but after rebooting, their still wasn't any backups availible to restore. When I boot into system recovery, it doesn't even open cyogenmod reovery.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I897 using XDA App
CM revovery? Stock 2.2? I'm confused.
I tried. Google doesn't show any, only custom launchers and I don't want that.

Bump...
Did you manually check the sgs tools folder for the backup of your stock launcher?
I've been using the gingerbread launcher from the market and I really like it. Just putting it out there to think about it.
Sorry I meant clockwork recovery mod. THAT didn't work or I wouldn't be asking for a way to reinstall default tw launcher. Thanks for all the current ideas

If you still need it, I attached it for you. Just drop it in the system/app folder. Good luck.
Never mind.someone else got it.

The one from the market is super easy. And if you accidentally delete it, it's there to reinstall
This is the one from my phone. Dont know if it is what you are looking for as i am currently running Continuum, but good luck.
I think you might need the .odex file as well since I recall seeing that you are running stock 2.2. Did you delete that file?
I'm not sure. How do I check?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I897 using XDA App
You can use Root explorer or a similar app and navigate to system/app. See if there are .odex files for the corresponding apk's. If the one for the launcher is missing than that would cause the issue. What happens when you try to run the launcher? does it just force close?
edit: I was able to find the apk and .odex file from a stock 2.2 build. Just drop it in hopefully this works. Just unzip and extract the files manually.
I can't find it. All there is is the .odex for the tw launcher wallpaper

AOSP launcher2 for 5.6.890
Just install zip from cwm.
GBLauncher, Black status bar, % with the battery icon and extra animations: http://www.4shared.com/file/DSsT0mmb/GBlauncher3.html
Just GB launcher.http://www.4shared.com/file/p_kJVC-_/launcher2-Only.html
This replaces your launcher2.apk with a stock launcher2.apk
Works fine for me but install at your own risk. And do a backup first.

I will have pictures up soon.
I have found out how to turn the toolbar black. To save time/trouble I asked someone if we could use their systemui.apk. I will release a second version with that as an option when I get the ok.
Thanks for this, been using modaco gingerbread launcher on the market but this one has a much faster app drawer.
Also I just unzipped and installed it no need to flash it.
Flashed three times.. no error during install... still only motoblur launcher... I see the file under system/app... any recommendations?

Using root explorer go to /system/app. Then mount r/w. Then rename blurhome2.apk to blurhome2.bak(to be safe) then(this is important) do not leave rootexplorer(you have no launcher currently) find where you have the download for this launch and go to it and click it and install it. That should do the trick.

when i renamed blurhome2.apk to the .bak version I kept getting a FC on the home application repeatedly, and it wouldn't let me back out. I used adb to rename the file back and just installed using the ASOP launcher app. worked like a charm!
It's good to see a piece of stock GB!
Thanks for all the help!
Can I flash this on a sensation? ?
Is this the 3d launcher? ?

Wouldnt having ADW or GoLauncher enabled at the time stop the force close issue until the stock one is installed? Does Home Switcher recognize it as installed once you get it all done?
Droid 1 Rooted (ChevyNo1 0.9MV Kernel, LGB2.6)
Droid 3 Rooted (Stock Kernel, Custom lite De-bloat)
When I loaded a Quick Contact widget onto the screen it seemed nothing happened. Then I realized they were invisible. I could long-hold (guessing where they were) and drag them to the recycle bin to delete the invisible icons. Weird, huh? Any recommendations on a cool contact widget?
Also, just an observation.. I was dicking with redoing my screen layout and was in landscape mode.. all of a sudden the launcher crashed and just for a few seconds I could see the motoblur launcher. The stock launcher quickly re-started and was working normally again.
By installing through the apk is it possible this launcher is just an overlay? The OP said it would replace the launcher, but I bet that's only during a CWM flash.
...
Because you couldn't get it to work with cwm I am not sure. I actually replace the file on mine. I don't touch the blur stuff. I always work from a fastboot flash, reset and and fresh root.
New post on OP. Black status bar and such.
had to restore default launcher. pdanet no longer works when this is active
Is my d3 a bad egg?
Scrolling through pages is really unsmooth for me. All stock launchers are like that for me. Obviously LP is butter for me but it seems like none of you have this problem...
All non stock launchers have caused issues for me unless you can actually change kernels and other system files. On CM on my droid Inc and inc 2 it was very easy to swap and it didn't cause issues.

So i have looked for handcent sms and go sms in the market and they do not appear...i got a link to the app in the market and on the top there is a bar that says the app is not compatible with your device? Is this a known issue?
I know there's been some market issues with liberty but I've been using go sms with it. I haven't had to download it since its been in my backup but it works fine, i'd assume if you can get the apk and side load it you'd have a work around.

i install it using titanium backup too but when i go to the market i am able to find it and actually just installed the 11/1 update. (Go SMS)
The latest Liberty fixes Market issues supposedly.

yes but you should be backing everything up so i don't see why it matters. backup, wipe, flash, reboot, restore, reboot, and youre right back where you left off.
Edit: I think he has a patch in the thread as well if you really don't want to flash the new ROM, but like i said its pretty quick and painless if you use Titanium
Hi,
I just recently got a Verizon Motorola Droid 4 phone and rooted it.
I then removed some applications I didn't think I needed.
It turns out that I removed one I needed (com.motorola.blur.providers.contacts) and now I have a few applications crashing and contacts don't work anymore.
Does anyone know where I can find a copy of the Stock ROM for my phone I can load to fix this?
Or a way to add that application back? I did back it up with TitaniumBackup before I removed it but it seems I can't restore it with that program.

I was able to find a system dumb and use Root Explorer to add the files ContactsProvider2_0.apk and ContactsProvider2_0.opex back to /system/apps and set the correct permissions.
Now my contacts works and I'm not getting any crashes from system apps now.
Was wondering if anyone made any themes for us stock motoblur users

Would also like to find some stock themes..
The only way to 'theme' a stock unrooted phone is to install a custom launcher like adw or go launcher and apply themes through the launcher..other than that u cant change anything without root.

Do a search here for "BigDX" he used to do stock themes for the bionic. I haven't been active in the android development world lately so Idk if he still does it. You might only find themes for older versions, but its worth a shot.

He never said it wasn't rooted, just that it was stock. Some of us are running rooted stock and customize things to our liking. I know you can customize your notification bar up top with Rom Toolbox Pro but I believe you have to be deodexed First.
