Was wondering if anyone made any themes for us stock motoblur users
Sent from my DROID BIONIC using Tapatalk 2
Would also like to find some stock themes..
The only way to 'theme' a stock unrooted phone is to install a custom launcher like adw or go launcher and apply themes through the launcher..other than that u cant change anything without root.

Do a search here for "BigDX" he used to do stock themes for the bionic. I haven't been active in the android development world lately so Idk if he still does it. You might only find themes for older versions, but its worth a shot.

Still need root and boostrap/safestrap recovery
He never said it wasn't rooted, just that it was stock. Some of us are running rooted stock and customize things to our liking. I know you can customize your notification bar up top with Rom Toolbox Pro but I believe you have to be deodexed First.

For those of you familiar with the Black Glass X theme by 928Droid, I have ported some of the keyboard colors and images into the Bionic Keyboard.
Below are the screenshots along with the install for it.
This install package must be installed from Bionic Bootstrapper, which means you must be ROOTed. You also must be DeOdexed. My Auto-DeOdexer is in my signature.
I have this running on my phone from the install package, so I know it works. This does not mess with the swype keyboard at all. This only replaces the LatinIME.apk file which is for the standard Multi-touch Keyboard.
If you have issues, just let me know.
Again, as I always say, USE AT YOUR OWN RISK. If you mess up your phone.... it's not my fault.
ENJOY!!!
I added the Factory LatinIME.apk install as well for those that wish to revert back to the factory grey.

Do no need root for this to install? Is it compatible with Swype?
Flashed with no problems, I love the look of it
Thanks

Yes you need root, because it flashes through CWM recovery via the bootstrap....and no, it just replaces the LatinIME.apk. Swype is a separate application.
Worked great thanks!!

I edited the OP so that it answers this. I have not themed the Swype keyboard.

Ok... I guess I forgot to specify this in the OP... you must be DeOdexed in order to install any themed items. I will fix the OP to explain that better. If you are rooted, there is a link to my Auto-DeOdexer in my signature.

What version of UNL3ASH3D were you on when you flashed this? I was on 1.1 and i lost the multi-touch keyboard altogether...had to re-flash the ROM.

Installed 1.1 over 1.0, let v1.1 boot. Then, rebooted & installed. Never had issue whatsoever.
Im getting ready to flash v1.2. If I get frisky, I'll wipe and install fresh, and let you know if I have any trouble.

You can only change the kernel and baseband on these phones with a OTA update from Motorola. Our bootloader is locked.
You can return the phone to stock software with one of the FXR apps that are available. But the baseband and kernel will remain unchanged. I used this one successfully last weekend: http://rootzwiki.com/topic/5484-r3l3as3droot-and-43v3r-root-for-the-bionic-v21/
Will the method mentioned on the RootWiki site also remove the bootstrap/CWM if installed?
Yes it will
So basically I can load bootstrap and cwm from koush and something like liberty and then go back to the way it was when unboxed with no sign of any changes? The reason I ask is I am still in my 14 day return window.

I just got my new Bionic and was updated to 902.
I rooted the device and was doing a restore (using Titanium) of some apps I had on my original Droid.
By accident, I restored ADW Launcher - which I didn't want.
How do I get rid of it? I can't uninstall it, and can't seem to flash a stock ROM since I can't find one that works with 902.
Any help?
Uninstall or freeze with titanium?
Tried to uninstall via Titanium, but when I reboot it is still there...
The issue is that now ADW Launcher is my launcher - and I can't get the stock launcher back. somehow, I think ADW replaced the stock launcher. How do I get it back?
Try using r3l3ased and for3v3r root to go all the way back then path saver to bring you back up to date. Or install the liberty rom because it lets you install Blur

Can i install liberty on 902? That sounds like the easiest way forward...

I believe so. I have a thread named path saver that links to instructions on how to install path saver and liberty with .902. You can find it in bionic general. For some reason, the original thread that I linked to was in general android development and not bionic development. I swear xda needs better moderators because the bionic page is so disorganized.

Try home switcher for blur don't remember the exact name but I believe that should do it or try cleared ng defaults first the downloading that app

can someone please port liberty from the D3 to the D4? i think all it needs is the LTE support and a change in the keyboard lighting code.
Is Liberty already available as a Safestrap ROM?

Safestrap for d4?

i tried installing it today (D3 version of liberty) and safestrap installed it and the init d "speedy" hack fine, but it wouldnt boot.
I'd really like to see sense roms ported. I had core cell for my hd2 and loved it. Miss it lol

Did you make sure you were using a Safestrap compatible version? Remember a safestrap rom is different than a regular rom.

i just took the D3 version of it that i was running on my d3 and flashed it. didnt boot though.
Can you give me a link to the thread where you downloaded the rom you are flashing?

If you read the first post, it explicity says "cwm only". It is not a safestrap rom. Also, liberty is based on the Droid 3 stock rom. If you want to port it, here are the first steps:
1. Get an updated Safestrap rom that incorporates the lates Motorola patch. (We will want the performance and battery boost it gives the d4)
2. DeOdex the ROM from step 1.
3. Prepare a sort of blank slate to start with, by ripping out everything not necessary.
At this point, we can start adding the Liberty customizations.

I am in the process of doing this. I am currently trying to work with Hashcode to try to put together a Safestrap version of the D4 stock ROM with the latest OTA patch. I'm going to try to deodex and deblur it.

Is it your motoblur LT deodexed? If so that is what I have been waiting for. I love gummy but would go full stock if I could change some or the icons safely. like the green battery icon. It just looks retarded with the blue 3g, 4g and wifi icons. If I knew how to deodex a rom I would attempt it myself, are there any instructions available for doing this ones self? Thanks for what you have done and are attempting.

Unfortunately, it is not yet deodexed. I just spent the last 3 hours trying to, and the resulting update.zip looks fine, but it won't boot. For now, though, it is very debloated and slightly deblured.
