[Q] Stock roms question - Galaxy Note GT-N7000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello everyone,
I have tried searching the Note forums section and checking out Sammobile's site but neither answered the question (that I could find).
I have my Note and it works great but the one I have does not offer support for asian languages (specifically Japanese input). I know there are apps I can get to input Japanese but I was hoping to get more native support in Swype. There is a huge long list of stock roms available but I am unable to find out which ones support Japanese as a language. Does anyone know if one does, or do none of them have it? If multiple ones do then maybe someone could recommend the best choice to me.
Thanks very much

I am guessing with 105+ views and no replies that either Japanese input natively is not that big of an importance for note users or no one has actually dug deep enough to check on their own notes. I am still looking for the information so if anyone does know that would be extremely helpful.

I did some research and stumbled upon an app called Japanese IME Kaede IME V3. I know you were looking for native input support but you could use this as a replacement for the time being.
Unfortunately, I couldn't find anything regarding native japanese input for the Note.

[Q] Japanese Language Support?

Hello. I wanted to know if the Unlocked LG P990 phone has native Japanese OS language support? I live in Japan and thus it is rather essential, though in terms of text input there are keyboard download options.
I bought the unlocked Galaxy S i9000 phone last year and it only had English, Chinese, and Korean. I concluded that Japanese would be impossible unless the phone was released domestically, however I bought the Nexus S and now the Xperia Play, and both have all OS supported languages available for selection. I am not sure if this is due to both having Gingerbread however. It is that fear that makes me ask this, for the 2X is still running Froyo.
Thus, if anyone could help me out here I would greatly appreciate it.
Edit: I have just learned there is an application called "MoreLocale 2". Perhaps this would work even if the Optimus 2X doesn't support Japanese.

Looking For Tablet ROM With More Complete S-Pen Support

Hello. I have written an app that helps to improve the accuracy of the S-Pen. It works only on Note phones because Samsung has compiled some S-Pen device driver interfaces out of the tablet ROMs. It is not clear why they did this. I have asked Samsung but gotten no replies. I have confirmed that parts of the kernel code is commented out in the open source kernel code (and you can see that some of the interface files found on phones do not exist on the tablets). It seems that the tablets suffer from the same issues related to the S-Pen as do the phones and I have many people asking me to make my app work on their tablets. I cannot do so with the stock ROMs because of the missing interface files.
So I am wondering if there any non-stock ROMs in which the S-Pen is more fully supported. The missing files are located on my phone in /sys/class/sec/sec_epen/ and the two files I need are called epen_hand and epen_rotation. If anyone knows of any ROMs for the S-Pen equipped tablets that provide these interface files, I would appreciate knowing and may be able to direct some folks to using them.
Thanks
It's going to be good if we can use Pen in our tablets
but i guess you need to post this Thread In Developing Sector because what you need is Developing general is just for simple Questions and things like that
I hope you can do it ^_^

Oops. You are correct. Sorry. Please ignore.

Simple question: do these work on all phones yet?

Ok, so i'm assuming this is a common question but failed at search and there doesnt seem to be much in terms of FAQ on these subforums.
I've read that the samsung watches only work with samsung phones. is this still the case? what is the point in rooting the watches? does it allow to be used on other brands? does the other phone NEED to be rooted to use it?
many thanks and really sorry if it has been answered many times before.
I've been offered one (i think its the original gear not gear 2) for a decent price but dont know if it'll work on my sony z1 unrooted.
cheers
You really don't even need to search...just read some of the threads
The watch is only fully compatible with devices running android 4.3+ and touchwiz
You can however get a fair bit of stuff working on non touchwiz roms/devices with workarounds

Chinese characters not needed or wanted.

I have recently purchased a Xiaomi Mi Pad 4 Plus. I did not understand how intertwined the Chinese language would be on this device. I knew some apps would be in Chinese and that I could either uninstall or disable them. However I was unaware that Chinese would be incorporated throughout the system despite my selection of English as a setup language. I am sorry that I cannot read Chinese (I wish I could!). I realize the tablet is made in China but so was my last phone (Huawei) and no Chinese on it. What do I have to do to translate this on the pad? If it has to be rooted then it's going back to the company with a long note.
Unlock, then install Global ROM

No root required, but Unlock yes.
Go through Unlock procedure (incl. 30 days wait), then install the Global ROM (https://xiaomi.eu/community/). This has proper translations and no Chinese native Bloatware.
Thank you for the quick response. I only seem to have one further problem. When I get to that website, how do I find what I'm looking for? Am I downloading the new MIUI 10? That wasn't quite what I was expecting if so.
If it were me (and it was since I also have one) I'd flash https://download.pixelexperience.org/treble_gsi/
It brings the device back in line with "traditional" interfaces we're used to in North America.
It's going to be far more complicated than rooting, but well worth it in my opinion.
Even deleting everything I could that was Chinese off the stock ROM didn't fix all the Chinese.

TWRP possible?

Hi,
I've bought the 128Gb Version, but there are just 6 Languages to select (Taiwan 709 regional code version), UK and 5 Asian. I want to try to root it and add German to the selectable languages. But to have a fallback I want to back it up it first, of course. Official TWRP is not available for this device. Unfortunately I'm not able to compile it myself. May someone know that another version for a different device will work, or is able to provide a proper version?
Can't find much for this device, what is really sad, because I think it's better than the most people think. Also bought the Desire 19+ for my wife, and she is really happy with it.
I'm sure there is a way to backup and restore using Qualcomm Download mode, but sadly I don't know how if a boot image could be extracted, then root could be achieved. I'm certain someone on here could easily do this, but there is no interest in this phone or HTC in general Such a shame, they were one of the first Android manufacturers, and worked along side Google.
Yes, really very sad -and can't see the sense to limit the provided languages. It also will limit the count of interested user.
