[Q] CM9 flashing from Hyperdroid [solved] - Galaxy Tab Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

flashed slim_build_02162012.zip, then got messege Install complete and Back menu button disabled. Cant acsses flash menu now(blank screen). What should i do now?

did you mean you lost CWM recovery by saying you lost the "flash menu"?
did you flash the kernel as well?
(copied from spike1985 link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=22613757&postcount=146)
-flash rom
-flash kernel
-flash gapps
-reboot to system
-reboot to recovery
-flash gapps again
-reboot to system
now that you are stuck, you can try flash a kernel via odin, maybe even hyperdroid kernel, just to get CWM recovery back.
Then use it to redo the correct steps.

Strange, just clicked several times the volume buttons and magically cwm said that back button was activated. From there i was able to proceed with normal installation

1. put update-cm-7.1.0-GalaxyS-signed.zip to your intSDcard's root.
2. go to CWM and do a Nandroid backup.
3. wipe data/factory reset + wipe cache + (dalvik cache)
4. install .zip from sdcard = update-cm-7.1.0-GalaxyS-signed.zip
5. if you want market, gmail etc. flash gapps.
There you go.
Edit: here is quoted instructions

Two recoveries
Now i have tried installing cwm through rom manager and successfully installed it, now if I go into the recovery mode through rom manager it shows the new recovery but if I go into the recovery mode through the combo (volume up button home button and power button) it goes back into the old recovery ie dark core recovery, so that means I have two recoveries in my sgs? Please help, thanks in advance
Because you're on Darky's ROM, you already have CWM. You don't need to install new one through ROMManager.
Only thing you have to do now, is wipe and flash.
With Darkcore there is no need to install the CWM Recovery through the Rom Manager. Anyway ist seems installing CWM with Rommanger does not work with the SGS. (I didn't try because i always got it with a Custom kernel but i read it a few times). Instead you have to flash a Kernel which includes the CWM Recovery
To the installation of the CM7-Rom. I usually flash a Samsung Stockrom before flashing a Custom Rom. It seems to be the "cleaner" way. But if you go after Erakko's Instructions you will get CM7 as well I think it's on you which way you will prefer.
I Cleaner install would help to make the transition easier...
go back to stock, then to cm7....for a much cleaner install....cause switching between custom firmwares leads to a few bugs at times.
Sorry but getting confused on what is a Nandroid back up, is it the back up option on the CWM or on the darkcore recovery?
It's a CWM-backup.
Nandroid restore table:
BACKUP -> ACTIVE = RESULT
Samsung -> CM =
Samsung -> Samsung =
CM -> CM =
CM -> Samsung =

cm7 to cm9 problem

followed the instructions to update from cm7 to the cm9

after the cwm flash phone reboots and shows the following:
1) AT&T white screen (from what i've read thats the pbl)
2) quick flash black screen
3) AT&T white screen again
4) a very quick list of text from what looks like cwm but too fast to read
5) repeats
Any ideas what went wrong?
I do have my phone back up and running but on Gingerbread via One Click K12 with Boogs kernel now. Had to use my home made jig to get into download mode...
Boot into recovery and flash the Glitch V14 Kernel first then CM9. It should fix that problem.
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA App
thanks for the reply, i'll give that a try once i get back to cm7
No, you just need to flash the ROM twice as the first flash sets the new partition layout and boot.img(kernel for MTD ROMs). Wipe EVERYTHING but SD card and boot.img in mounts and storage. Then flash again and flash GAPPS without rebooting!
hmmmmmmm, my memory is for crap, but as i recall once the rom flashed the first time the phone tried to reboot and went into what i would think would be called a boot loop. i wasn't able to boot into recovery to flash the 2nd time even if i knew to do that...
as i said though, i may be wrong.
To get out of the bootloop I usually do a battery pull and then do the 3 button combo to get to recovery and flash the second time
ok, i'm up and running although i thought at first something had screwed up again. Since i was coming from stock/rooted gb i used these instructions this time:
- First time flashing ICS to your Captivate (or coming from another ROM)?
Root your device and install ClockworkMod Recovery.
Reboot into Recovery using 3-button-combo
Do a Nandroid backup!
WIPE (wipe data/factory reset + wipe cache partition)
Install the ROM from internal sdcard using ClockworkMod Recovery
Optionally install the Google Addon
Click to collapse
after first install i went right into the bootloop i described in my first post except this time it was the cm screen twice instead of the at&t. I used the 3 button hold to see if it would go into recovery, and it did
On b-eock's suggestion i then flashed the rom again...this time i got to the screen with all the tiles rotating across the screen, but after a few min i got an "encription" error and message that the process was intrupted and i had to do a factory reset... i click "ok" to see what happened and on the next boot i was up and running
Thank you gentlemen for the assistance

[Q] Stuck at Samsung Boot Screen

Hi guys,
I just flashed the _AllianceROM_JellyBean XXLSC_ALpha1 via rom customizer from JB RocketRom V1. I am now stuck at samsung boot screen and i can't access my nandroid backups generated using CWM as the TWRP doesn't detact them . I would really appreciate if some1 could tell me how can i solve this problem.
Thanks!
Have you tried doing a factory reset?
Use odin and download mode to go back to any stock rom as a second option
I didn't have the chance to enable usb debugging before this happen. Is there any other solutions for this?
Why do you need adb? Boot into recovery and do a resrt

Stuck at samsung boot screen (the one with samsung logo and NOT galaxy note) is called bootloop
You need a fresh new system, try the following:
1- reboot into recovery (Home + Power + Volume UP)
2- Install a safe kernel - I recommend (Abyss GB Kernel)
3- In recovery >> Advanced >> reboot Recovery
4- when it boots up, do Factory Reset/Data Wipe 3 times
5- Do Cache wipe 3 times
6- Go to Advanced & do Dalvik Cache wipe 3 times
7- Go to Mounts & Storage & do FORMAT SYSTEM
8- Go to Mounts & Storage & do FORMAT PRELOAD
9- Now, Re-Flash Alliance ROM & Reboot - The ROM should come with its own Kernel
Furthermore, it is best if you did your nandroid backups in CWM just before installing a new ROM and while being on Abyss kernel (or whatever safe kernel you're intending to use) to avoid MD5 Checksum failure when restoring
Also, I would recommend you do MD5 Checksum on the Alliance ROM zip file and make sure it matches the one in the thread (you'll find it in the OP, almost always next to the download link - I use MD5Check for windows
P.S. If you can't get into recovery, you got a brick issue, refer to brick threads
Best of luck

[Q] Fracked up my phone need help!

Hello everyone, I am so desperate, I rooted my Galaxy Ace GT-S5830, then with root uninstaller by mistake (HUGE MISTAKE ) I uninstalled the main menu, now everytime I starth the phone all i see is a black screen with the notification bar (I can scroll it down) but then nothing, if i reboot it never starts again, I go into recovery mode, and select factory reset, but NOTHING.
I found a tutorial on how to flash a rom, but how do I flash Cyanogen Mod 10.1?
To flash CM 10.1 you need to read the OPs post on that thread, there are instructions on how to flash it.
Once you have flashed it successfully you will be sorted
Do you need a link to the cyanogen mod 10.1 thread?
Sent from my GT-S5830
Download the root file,CWM Recovery and CM 10.1 ROM and copy it to your SD card !
Then go to recovery and root your device again and then flash CWM.
Now do factory reset, wipe cache and wipe dalvik cache.
Then go to "install zip from sdcard" and select ur ROM !
Reboot ur device and done
alright! i fixed my phone! it booted now! I flashed stock rom, now I have a question, how do I install cyanogen mod?
thanks for your help!
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2011671
Is this the one that you want?
if it is this is how to install it:
-Boot into recovery
-wipe data/ factory reset
-wipe the cache partition
-go to, advanced/ wipe dalvik cache
-Install zip from sdcard (it will be called something like cm10rom.zip)

No matter what i flash in odin, the result is the same: bootloop

i wonder if there is a way out of a bootloop that works no matter what, as long as you can enter download mode.
after reading for 3 days and flashing everything i could (flashing stock ROM, WIPE_I8190.tar.md5, PARAM_I8190.tar.md5, "LeFreu" I8190 серв. укр) it all gave me the same result: bootloop.
i made a back up before flashing a custom ROM (Dmod V6 and Virginity V3 as they seemed like the best ones) so if any of u help me access CWM recovery or TWRP i could do a restore and make my phone work again.
NOTE: the only way i managed to use CWM recovery the first time was rooting with odin "I8190XXALL2_I8190OXXALL1_HOME_rooted_by_avicohh" and then downloading rom manager from the playstore
the attached screenshot shows my device info from factory, can anyone help me restore my phone?

i need serious help.
i have a galaxy s3 mini gt-i8190 and im stuck on a bootloop
i bought it in new sealed condition and it came with this firmware (see attached screenshot)
and when i tried to update it a window popped saying that my device was modified and that software update were not available.
i decided to root my phone so i could install a new rom.
i downloaded all the software i needed including drivers dor the usb samdung devices and enabled usb debuging in developer options
then i used odin to flash I8190XXALL2_I8190OXXALL1_HOME_rooted_by_avicohh
then i tried flashing custom recovery via odin also
everything went normal but custom recovery was not sticking, meaning no matter what type of custom recovery i flashed (twrp, cwm) i ended up having 3e stock recovery.. (NOTE: the 3e stock recovery before AND after flashing rooted ROM, had always a broken android on the floor with an exclamationg sign in its chest) so i tried another method:
i downloaded root checker from the playstore and rom manager. after checking i was rooted (wich i was) i flashed cwm recovery and succesfully was able tu boot into cwm recovery. i did a back up in both, internal storage and external sd, and procedded to flash Dmod V6. i followed the aroma installer and when it finished i selected reboot system now and got a bootloop.
i entered in cwm recovery and did a restore. did a full wipe (data, cache and dalvik) and tried flashing another rom: virginity ROM. followed the aroma installer and selected reboot system now, the result was bootloop.
when i was trying to do another restore the recovery told me that the system would try to flash stock recovery again and i choosed to keep the cwm recovery.
at this point my phone was able to turn on and boot normally. tried again to flash via cwm the virginity rom and got a bootloop again. so i went to do another restore and this time i choosed diferently (flash stock recovery) and when the restore ended i selected rebbot system now and got a bootloop AGAIN.
now i cannot enter CWM recovery (i guess that is obvious because i choosed to flash stock one)
i have readed 3 days now and tried everything that the forums say: flashing stock firmware, flashing WIPE_I8190.tar.md5, flashing PARAM_I8190.tar.md5 and still ended with a bootloop. tried flashing I8190 серв. укр (LeFleur) and nothing, absolutely nothing works.
i even downloaded Unified_Android_Toolkit_v1.2.8 and tried to flash stock firmware but nothing seems to work. all my phone does is bootloop, and boot into download mode.
can a serious developer help me solve this? im about to give up.... and that seriously affects me because im not a quitter.
any help would be greatly apreciated...
