is it okay to charge the Note over night. it needs around 3.5 hours for a full charge. if i leave it on charger for 6-7 hours is that okay?
or should i charge in the morning before leaving home? like 2 or 2.5 hours max without touching the 100% mark.
which is the best option? thanks
I think You're fine to charge it overnight. When it is charged, charger stops pushing 'juice' to it. Always use standard charger n you'll be safe.

Some ppl say its okay to keep overnight, sum don't. I personally dont keep the phone on charge overnight. (and it takes 4hrs to complete charge)
Why wouldn't you leave the phone on charge overnight ?
That's the thing everyone does, you can notice that when phone is fully charged, it stops charging (you can notice that by the temperature of the phone) ...
Its a normal thing, so you don't have to worry about it
If there were any problems with that, phone manufacturers would warn you by making big noticeable notification that phone is fully charged and that you have to unplug it immediately
I set mine on the nightstand, plugged in, and unplug in the morning. Done this with every phone I've ever owned. Works great.
I charge it over night every night. Nothing happen to it

My 4-week old rooted NC (1.1 / Autonooter 3.0) has been plugged into the BN charger for a few hours. The battery level shows 98% yet the LED on the BN charger is green, strongly suffesting that that's as far as it's going to go.
I've not let my NC get much below 40% battery level without recharging.
Anyone else seeing this behaviour? I realize that rechargable batteries have a finite life span, but I'd sort of like my NC to last me a couple of years.
Perhaps I should let the battery get below 10% before recharging...
There is no such thing as memory effect. Discharging your battery is the worst thing you can do for it. If it says 98% is the most it can do, then your battery statistics need to be wiped. You can get a more accurate mapping of % to charge level by doing a full charge to discharge cycle, but this leads to premature battery death, and I do not recommend it.

Thats normal, the charger operates in low-current mode and will keep charging till it gets 100%. Let it plugged for another 1 hour and you should see the 100% full charge then.

You dear sir are correct, most devices have being doing that for awhile.
Even my pro2 and diamond would take 2 hours to get from 98% to100%.

I was under the impression the charging capabilities of this phone were insane? My note 4 is charging very slow even with the phone off. Ive toggled the Fast Charge on and off (battery page in settings) and regardless of what i chose its very slow. I think my Note 3 charged faster than this. Is something wrong with my charger or my phone? Should i echange it for another?
Exchange it. With the included charger mine charges in about an hour.

The way fast charge works is with wall adapter and cable that came with phone and screen off. Another way is phone off. Takes a bit over an hour when phone dead
NOTE 4
Looks like I'll exhange it then, cause with the phone off, it took about an hour to go from 25% to 38%. Its strange cause my note 3 was usable while using GPS, and phone connected to car charger, not even a 2.1amp one and it would charge quickly. Note 4, actually went from 38% to 52% in about 3 and a half hours the same way
Mine is the opposite, charges fast and and drains fast. When I unplug it will go from 100% to 95% in 5 minutes with no use and screen off. I tried several battery app with no success to fix the problem.

Fast charge will only work screen off. If u using GPS then phone is awake and u get slow charge
Also make sure fast charge is clicked on.
NOTE 4
Did you take off the plastic stickers from the charger? Mine started fast charging after I did that. I think it was covering part of the connection somewhere.
I hope u connected to ac and not USB check battery in settings make sure it says charging ad and not charging usb
Yes mine says it is charging via AC. I havent removed the plastic from the charger, ill try it. The weird part is, last night i had 5 percent battery. At around 2:30 i turned off the phone and connected to the charger. I wake up around 9:30, a whole 7 hours later, and the phone only charged up to 89%. It takes 7 hours to not even charge full percent? Is that normal? Granted, if i turned off the phone or even had it on, my Note 3 charged within 2 hours or less even from dead. So i should just exhange the phone right?

Bad phone
NOTE 4
I've noticed that the phone can be fully charged in an hour. Is it bad for the battery to charge the Turbo all night like I used to with other phones?

I personally don't charge my phones through night, I prefer to fully charge them just after I arrive home and before I'm going to sleep, and my battery health in my last phones has been healthy and not decreasing the performance so quickly.
I think the whole point to get a Turbo charger is this, to be able to make the phone charge quickly and don't let them plug to the wall the whole night.
I leave phone for charging overnight on 2A charger, but it seems that after it's charged to 100%, current drain continues, since phone is still hot in the morning. If I leave it to be charged at midnight, it should be done in 3 hours max, so there is a lot of time to cool off. This does not seem normal and I did not have it with any other phones. I will try with motorola charger and report.

and its normal if you leave it in the charger all night, it will reach 100%, then drain a little, then charge it back, over and over. oh, and hot, what temperature? battery and CPU temperatures?

Bad signal. App/WiFi/radio scanning for connection.
Just switch the N6 one night in Airplane mode and check if the N6 is hot in the morning.
The problem is that this does not happen every time, but it's definitely not normal.
I leave my N6 plugged in ALL night, and when I unplug it in the morning, it is NOT hot..... So my only guess is that you have some apps running in the background. make sure the camera app isn't running, or any other apps. or better yet, put it in safe mode tonight, and see if you have the same problem tomorrow.
The only time my Nexus 6 is uncomfortably hot is after I play The Simpsons Tapped Out (this also drains, on average, about 20% of my battery within 30-45 minutes...) so I would echo that there may be an app running in the background that is causing the cpu to have issues. Have you checked for wakelocks with something like Better Battery Stats?
I just noticed that I only get the batterycare message when I charge the phone before bed via a cable. When I charge it overnight wirelessly it does. It have the message (how it will charge to 90% by 9am or whatever). Does this mean batterycare isn't working when we charge wirelessly?
hey... do you know how you got Battery Care to show up? I have my phone for just almost a week now... I charge long overnight before sleep and wake-up around same timing, but still don't have the Battery Care showing up.... I tried toggling off then ON again before sleeping but still doesn't show up... do you know how I should fix this?
I hope it has nothing to do that it's a fast charger right? the standard fast charger that comes with it.....the QC3.0 one..
Thanks
Cheng
I used an XZ and now use an XZ Premium and have found the Battery Care feature frustrating for the reasons you cite. It only works under fairly narrow conditions. And then it has to "relearn" after a factory reset or firmware flash.
My workaround is plug my phone into a fish aquarium light timer overnight and program it to turn on (begin charging) at a time that results in the phone being at 100% when I wake up. That way the phone doesn't sit on the charger at 100% for hours on end...which is what Battery Care aims to do.
And it works for any phone.
I also use an old Sony Charger from my 2012 Xperia T. It charges really slowly...which results in a lower amount of heat in the battery and hopefully prolongs its lifespan. I don't need fast charging overnight!
I've only been using a wireless charger, "have them all over", since I received the phone and I get the battery care notification when the battery is below 70% otherwise the message doesn't show up.

I don't use Battery Care, just wireless charging, primarily at night, with a table top fan going all night as well.
During workweek usage, I don't even bother topping off nightly, this phone does well between charges to skip a day &/or, just throw it on the charger when I wake up & take it off on my way out the door for the day. I don't worry about having it @ 100%...,50-60% will get me through a 12hr shift w/room to spare.
