hi.
sorry, new here, first post.
searched the forum, didnt found.
i bought a p1000L from a guy who had it from elsewhere in the world. used and unlocked. the serial says P1000LGSMH.
(it has a little antenna to watch tv, if this helps...)
of course i wanted to update it to the gingerbread. i took a gingerbread from samfirmware.com, and flashed it with odin.
as there were localized firmwares, i took one that didnt had any specific location, that i believed universal or so.
it doesnt start anymore not in normal, nor in download or repair. ok, brick, but here's the catch: the keys glow and it makes the little music. kies knows there is something there, but dosent connect. heimdall finds a compatible device, but doesnt connect either. odin doesnt know nothing.
so is there a way to unbrick this, or is it dead boot ?
Hmmmm.... did you look here ?
my bad. odin finds it too. the com port is yellow.
but, it doesnt go into download mode.
it kind of boots a little, glows the keys, and vibrates a bit.
if i turn up or down the volume, it bleeps and vibrates.
but screen is black...
i watched the thread you pointed, but all of this serves when you can access the download mode.
sometimes, but not all the times, i press the power bouton, it boots with the little sounds and vibration, but black screen. then, i odin/heimdall find the device.
but if i press power-volume down, it never goes to download (at least, odin/heimdall never find it)
update : now, kies asks me to reconnect the device in pc mode, because the current connection mode is not suported...
find a rom that you know works for your tab and odin it. even if it doesn't look like it recognizes it, it probably does. besides what could it hurt....AS LONG AS YOU FLASH A ROM THAT YOU KNOW WILL WORK FOR YOUR TAB. good luck!
odin recognise it, but doesnt want to send anything in there.
i tried various that "should" worlk, but as i cant enter to download mode, just nothing happens.
would there be an other way to force download mode ?

ODIN doesnt want to send anything in there. or YOU dont want to send anything in there?
If odin recognizes it then i dont think heres a reason for it not to flash files to the device..
anyway, download a reliable rom, kernel and model then flash it using odin and see what happens

Hmmmm... sounds very weird to me. If Odin finds a device, it means it can connect to it. What error(s) does Odin return when you try to flash something ?
my com port is yellow, and he knows there is something.
error message is :
<ID:0/003> Can't open the serial(COM) port.
<OSM> All threads completed. (succeed 0 / failed 1)
i donwloaded another tar, that is intended for the p1000N (i got L, but its latin too.), just to see what happens :

Hi,
Try again but with the *.tar.md5 file renamed to *.tar
Odin just checked the CheckSum and found it OK
I don't know about the differences between the "N" and "L" machines, but I would'nt recommend flashing ROM's not specified for your device.
ok. tryed the N.
it installed, but couldnt get anything else than the blinking samsung. (witch is a huge step i think.)
i think that one of the big problem there is that the samfirmwares that i think i need are hosted on multiupload, and, or the link is dead or the site is dead.
i found area and operator specific firmwares for the L, but they are no use.
more, the phone and csc files dont exist in those.
any other idea where i could find one ?

Yah, ok ... what revision of Odin are you running ? There seem sometimes problems with the newest (1.8 i believe) , so maybe try find an older (1.7) version.

If you've installed any usb filters or anything libusb-related (including messing with heimdall), you must uninstall all of that before odin seems to work properly. If your on AMD hardware and have AMD's USB filter driver installed, I would even suggest removing that too (however it hasn't given me any problems).
And if odin still doesn't work for you, you could maybe try heimdall
i switched computer. on that one, completely free of samsung stuff, intel based, i got this :
i had a try in heimdall. heimdall uncompress the package into a folder, then simply says there is no firmware.xml in the pakage and then trash the files and do nothing.
With heidmall, I had to use manual flash from command prompt. In short, you have to take the tar, extract it somewhere, and then take heidmall and put it in the same folder with the files.
I made a zip file containing what you need for heidmall (except Samsung's actual drivers, but I guess you have those installed already), but you just need to throw the files that the readme asks for in the same folder (take the tar, extract all the contents to the folder)
it finaly worked !!!
thank you so much guys.
i found out something else, and that fixed the problem.
in fact, whatever i installed saturday work, but not well at all.
it showed an interface (the locale interface), BUT, the screen wasnt lit. so he was displaying something but didnt have the corect screen driver, nor the touch driver.
and, figuring that, i could enter a download mode, i had to destroy my eyes trying to watch what it displayed. after a while, i saw a kind of triangle, so i assumed it was a download mode. there, odin would work and send in the humbertOS, and the rest was easy.
lesson learnt. never do the first tutorial i find.

Beat with me guys, I am very very new to this board, and I apologize if I post this in the wrong area.
Lemme start from scratch.
My phone is not rooted or anything like that. BUT I wanted to update my software for the Captivate to 2.2 using samsung Kies.
Not sure what happened, I though I had the correct drivers installed and what not, but it gave me the screen with the phone, exlamation mark, and computer.
I can put my phone into download mode, and I installed odin3 one click downloader. The problem is, when it gets to the part 'file analysis' it gets stuck there.
I watched a video on youtube and his went automatically, so I'm not sure at ALL what to do. If I can fix this myself, I'd love to. If not, I will go through AT&T and see if I can get it replaced.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Not sure how to fix it, but if you have to send it into samsung say it got screwed up somehow while trying to update to KB1, in truth that is what happened, plus if you say that they will try to fix it fast
If you have access to another computer, download ODIN and try it on that one. Odin works on my laptop but not on my desktop.
CM7 Inspire 4G
What you have is a soft brick. Keep trying to get into download (try both 2 and 3 button methods) and then retry Odin. Look in Dev subforum for the "How to flash a ROM" sticky as there is good info on how to do this.
Samsung was absolutely no help lol.
Well.. I guess I can try this on another desktop.
Jeez I regret trying to upgrade man. Shoulda waited and learned more.
Has anyone had odin3 get stuck at file analysis before?
What model is your Cappy? You can find the model number underneath the battery (on the phone itself). It should have a number like 1006,1007,1008,1009,1010,etc.
Also, it'll be a good idea to try this alternate method in the mean time:
Make sure you know how to go to Download Mode, and that you have the drivers installed properly.
Windows 64bit
Windows 32bit
This is the manual (or "full") Odin, it's taken from a post by icezar1 in the Development Forum:
Do not use this if you want to send your phone back to ATT or Samsung for warranty!
Do not use this if you know you flashed a -LOW- ODIN package (when opening the PDA***.tar or CODE***.tar you will find inside boot.bin or sbl.bin)
Use this if you want to go back to stock before flashing a custom ROM.
Use this without worries if you changed your boot screen image or if you flashed the secondary boot loader which allows you to enter download/recovery with key combos.
Download the package from here
How to:
Remove sdcard and SIM card from the phone
Extract JF6_secure.zip somewhere.
Boot your phone in Download Mode
Run Odin3 v1.3.exe
Plug in your phone via USB
Click on the button PDA
Choose JF6_secure.tar.md5
Click start
Wait and do not unplug cable until it is finished

Just for clarity sake, those are not the model numbers, they are build date (first two are year, second two are month). The model number of the Captivate is i896 or i897.
I know, I keep saying that they're model number though for some reason. Thanks anyway I guess.
Thank you venomio this 1.3 is working much better.

I'm in the same exact situation as the OP. I'll try the instructions posted below and report my findings.
check your build number first before you flash using odin. certain build may not work with odin one-click.
an usb jig will help you out if you cannot get into the download mode or just in case:

I accidentally flashed wrong ROM (SII CheckROM) on my Note and now it has stopped booting. IT is stuck on the Galaxy Note N7000 screen and screen starts misbehaving.
I cannot goto CWM recovery all I can still make it to is Stock recovery. How can I Unbrick this state?
Are you able to get into download mode? (Power off, then power on holding VolumeDown + Menu + Power all together until the screen comes on?)
Then you'll be able to flash a rom via Odin...
if you can get into download mode, which is what i assume you mean by stoke recovery you can flash the rom using odin on the pc

I have the same problem, I accidentally flashed a galaxy s2 kernel, and my screen misbehaves after logo. Now, I can't get into download mode since it says low battery. I've been trying to charge it with wall charger, even though back cover gets warmer, it still says low battery. I've purchased an Anker universal charger, left the battery overnight, nope still no luck, should I buy a new battery ?
Bricked Galaxy Note N7000 or Incorrect ROM Flash Easy Fix
Ok simple you won't see nothing on the screen because the bootloader is wrong.....
Just put the battery in then do following.
1. hold vol down+home+power for 15 seconds...
2. release then press volume up...
Note: Don't worry about seeing anything on the screen or any keys light
it will be blank this is because bootloader is incorrect
3. open odin you should see comxx in listed flash the original bootloader back
into phone this will/should resume visual display.
I have attached necessary files to resume
Load File in PDA NOT BOOTLOODER

hello all,
my case was a bit different, after the ics leak, i rooted and flashed rocketrom without problems, then i flashed kriskelo also without problems but wanted to go back to rocketrom, the problem is that the device got stucked in the galaxy note gt 7000 screen with the rooted triangle after i tried to recover rocketrom via cwm, i have back ups from all the roms, lcy, rocket and kriskelo except from the GB but the phone doesnt boot, i tried odin but it get stucked in the "network connecting" and it doesnt go far...im downloading now the stock gb and will try the antiguangenius way, just a small question, do i have to flash only the bootloader (file attached in the post} and then the stock rom or just the stockrom directly in the pda? what is the nt7000 bootloader file?
extra info, my phone enters in cwm recovery without problems, and if i connect the usb on it with the galaxy note gt7000 screen, i get the yellow flag ( i assume is the download mode, isnt it?) so its not completely bricked, i see all the menu from cwm and can also recover, but it wont boot anybody could help? im afraid how much it would be bringing it to the SSC...
thanks in advance

Sorry with all due respect, how can one accidentally flash a SII rom onto a N7000 or a N7000 rom onto a I717? Do you people think we all are stupid because we don't flash roms that were built for other devices onto our Notes? Why don't people think before they flash? I mean it's known that men cannot think clearly when they see a naked women with big b.... but I did not know that this effect also takes place when they see a phone and a rom

Nope, and nor do I get the windows noise when you have plugged in a USB device like a mouse or something!!
I have re-installed the Samsung USB drivers twice both times it said they were already installed but I done it anyway
Does this sound fixable? Would a phone shop only try same recovery options that I am trying?
ok, let me get this straight..
you have download mode, no recovery right?
if you boot into download mode, then connect the phone, it doesn't get detected (blank screen) ?? have you tried charging the device then trying to connect again? or simply remove the battery then re-insert?

I have given up, been trying since 10 this morning
Samsung has gone right down in my estimation due to this, all I done was install KIES and was when phone connected it prompted me to install an updated firmware, then got error at 4%
Never had this with HTC so if I cant get a warranty replacement am screwed!!!
Was Your phone locked or something before this happened ?
Maybe you could try a new Rom File...

I have tried 3 different firmwares 2 of them FAIL in Odin while 1 gets stuck on "setup connection"
It is in Warranty so are Vodafone going to want to attempt a repair or will it be a straight swap?

I think it will be a repair as its not a hardware fault I think.
Use ODIN 1.85. Maybe a last try before returning it to Service Centre ?
And don't change any option in ODIN. I think you have changed it.. Maybe I am wrong lol... Just wondering...
try to flash any custom kernel only with odin, not firmware, and if the kernel flashed, try to go to recovery and then full wipe and flash any rom.

restart your phone again in download mode b4 trying again in ODIN... donot continue where its stuck
The issue with mine is i have no history on this phone... its my co-workers who got it from a friend who is clueless about his own damn phone.... bought from a local guy.
anyways im in guam and i have no way of checking if this model was on a custom rom or what not or if the unit was pure stock all around i cant go into recovery mode at all only into ODIN which tells me to download a custom OS ... i myself am not a tech guy so im new to this just reading around but you all are well aware of what firmware and what not your unit was on but me i have no clue due to it not being able to fully start up and not charging only through my laptop port which at that wont even help cause my laptop tells me its not recognized but i have the drivers downloaded in already and have kies from my previous androids i had.
so my search is to find someone who can help me out here with me not knowing at all pretty much being blind to what the units firmware or ROM was even on and so forth.

that is as far as i get then it just says fail...... my phone will only charge when connected to my laptop but not to my wall charger. my phone can enter download mode but not recovery mode.
when connected to my laptop the driver doesnt recognize it but it can be detected on odin but on kies it wont.
more help
okay ..... so its either the rom itself you are trying to flash or something else ....
first : what do you mean when you charge it from the plug it wont go ?? this is a real problem ... if you have another charger try it with first then if its not charging you'll need to service that mobile via samsung service center cause you cant do anything with an empty battery ....
if my guess is right then it a faulty charger and you need a new charger ... thats it , after checking this step you can try downloading another rom which i am sure it will be all right cause i am already using it :
try this link :
http://www.hotfile.com/dl/198300717/4646e97/N7000JPLSB_N7000OJPLSA_XSG.zip.html
download this version of odin too :
http://www.4shared.com/get/U6DTV0GA/gt-n7000_flasher__pit.html
you'll need to uninstall samsung kies , reboot you pc ,
and install samsung latest usb drivers :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2038555
Note : DO NOT FLASH ANY FIRMWARE UNLESS YOU HAVE GOTTEN DEVICE IS READY TO USE AND ALL DRIVERS INSTALLED SUCCESSFULLY
afterwards you will extract odin and the firmware (md5 file + dll file "important" ) on you desktop in a folder and then you'll use odin in administrator mode then you make sure you note battery > 50% at least then make your note in odin mode ( vol down + home + power , then vol up to enter odin mode )
plug your note to usb and let the pc reapply drivers then youll put md5 file in pda bar and pit 16 gb in pit , also check your note internal capacity ... maybe you are lucky and have 32gb or even 64gb
okay then press start .... normally it would take less than 10 minutes to complete , 8 minutes 15 seconds of waiting then you have your note booting , unplug it from pc when odin says ok ( blue ) or pass ( green ) then here you go ... Jelly bean !!
teah man still no damn luck it keeps on failing and if it aint failed yet its like passed 30min. and still nothing changed.... do i put the PIT and the PDA or do i do it one by one.... do the GT7000 PIT first then the N7000 PDA after?!....
a step by step video would do more wonders than just reading.... cause i think my issue is way different cause i dont even know if this phone is unlocked or what or anything about it cause i got it bricked. stuck on boot logo and HARD RESET isnt accessible and im in GUAM.... ya know where GUAM is?!......
Me having same issue guys :crying: i am following this thread please experts help us !!
TRY booting in recovery or download mode.
recovery : volume up+home+power at the same time
download : volume down+home++power at the same time.
let us know if you can get into both or any of these modes

Well, I´m with the same problem here on this side but i thinck this might work:
Check this link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1901191 I dont know if this is going to work but i am going to run this in my samsung.
After that, I will reply you.
can someone help me...my n7000 just went off...i tried to start it,but loops on samsung logo. i used odin with stock rom...all went right it finished with Pass from the first try...but then again the phone didint want to start...i started updating apps and then looped again...every time it shows battery totaly empty...i tried a couple of times with odin and even pit file...even managed one time to start the phone, opened setting etc...battery indicator showed its full, and then suddenly phone just restarts and i cant do nothing?!
last time it rebooted automaticly opens android recovery and stays on that screen....? i cant do nothing....every time i plug it into charger he starts up and opens recovery ?
tried charging over computer usb, from a 220v,even from a dock....but he as soon as i plug it he opens recovery ?? any help...i think the main problem is battery....would it help to charge it in some other device or something ? or i screwed things big time ?
I had the same issue here.use odin still cant help
Anyone can help here
I stuck here.

Hey all,
As per title, A while back I rooted and installed a few custom roms on my unit before sticking with one named
"GT-7000_SweetROM_V11.1_LTA" and all was going well until a "super user" app update and a "low battery" met in the middle and my phone lost power and turned off.
Now my phone will not boot and freezes on the samsung logo, pressing vol up + power + home will, not bring up the recovery mode
but vol down + power + home will take me to a download screen, Odin, if my research is right.
I've read a few posts with the same symptoms as me but with different reasons for getting there in the first place and I'm unsure of what to do.
If my reading has been correct I'm not hard bricked but am in a bit of a spot and PC Odin can help me out, but then there are different versions of Odin as well.
Just some more bits and peices that I can think of to try and give you all as much info as possible. here goes,
I do remember Philz ???? something on my phone and was able to switch between roms by placing them on the external micro sd card and using vol up + power + home to navigate a menu.
Whilst writing this post I have had my unit plugged in via usb and it justs sits there with the battery icon showing but it shows no movement ie: the little cirle will not spin nor will the green charge level go up. Also it tried to install "mobi" something onto my pc.
Another problem I'm having is finding a valid download link for PC Odin any help there would be cool.
If you need anymore info I'll do my best but I'm very new to this, many thanks
E2A: have downloaded Odin and phone is reconized there just need to learn how to use the Prog
Download and flash PhilZ kernel 15.5 odin version. Flask on via odin (put it in pda tab and flash) and see if you can get your phone working again or can get into recovery. If not download and.flash whole stock jb rom. There is also a ltc rom odin version recently posted in one of the two dev threads.
As how to use odin for note, find the famous sticky thread by dr.ketan in our n7000 forum.

Yeah low battery which doesnt seem to be charging acording to the widget but I can enter download mode whilst plugged in to usb but not recovery
just for info my phone acts the same wether plugged into comp or the wall socket with samsung hardware
guess Im screwed eh?
thanks
I would try a new battery.
Sent from my GT-N7000 using Tapatalk 2
I'm sure the battery is fine it's the phone thats mucked up, I've not had any problems to idicate my battery was failing
Are there any other avenues I could explore? I'm willing to get a new battery but then I could have 1 phone and 2 dead batteries and no way of charging.
When I tried flashing PhilZ kernel and the jb rom with Odin it was Odin that did its thing then reported to have failed, the phone had power to it the whole time and was showing the download screen with the message "do not turn off target".
thanks for you help so far

Thanks for helping out :good:
Drivers are up to date, installed kies then uninstalled leaving the drivers behind.
USB, have used all the ports on my pc
Changed cable, used the wife's S3 cable
Ports, I can open ports easy, thought that was just router tho
PC, not sure what you mean there but running Win7 with decent spec.
Still the same outcome, fails on connection
thanks for taking the time tho

1. Install the latest drivers from: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=961956/
2. Reboot
3. Disable all antiviruses
4. On your phone:
a) Boot into download mode
b) Plug your phone into your PC (only plug it into the USB 2.0 ports, don't do it on 3.0 or 1.1 or 1.0 etc.)
c) Follow the on screen instructions saying something along the lines of "Press volume up to continue" - you want to continue
d) Check whether Odin has detected your phone, if it has continue to step 5
5. Flash a stock ROM or kernel
6. If it succeeds, boot into recovery and perform a factory reset <= ONLY IF IT ISN"T ICS
OK.. Odin is not able to get to the PIT mappings.. There seems to be some connection issues. Check with newer version of Odin.. Also probably a different pc.

You said something about PIT and Ive seen some posts on it, I guess that roue is last resort?
