Can somebody explain me, what is different Factory Reset in our Galaxy S:
1) with Menu -> Settinngs -> Security -> Factory Reset Phone
2) In Recovory Mode -> Factory Reset
2) Factory Reset with typing Code *2767*3855#
Very important for my knowing and understanding, because thanks forwarding on answer.

Does same thing but with dif methods
Its in recovery cos sometimes you can't boot.
It has code because some devices have debug apps installed.

Thanks on quick answer, but forget one question:
Lose I Rooted and Superuser factor on my device after factory reset, or stay it after that?
Thanks
For me it stayed using reset from recovery menu. No idea if that's a guaranteed thing though.
super user will always stay even if you factory reset
Thanks mates all of you on answers.
Best regards
I have an HTC one (Sprint) and I have unlocked the bootloader. nothing else is done. I am now trying to sell it and want to erase all my data but when i perform a hard reset or factory reset it enters recovery mode and doesnt wipe it clean...does anyone know what I am doing wrong/have to do?? below if the version I have, I dont believe there is a factory image for it out yet...All i want to do is clear my data and be rid of this phone!!

This is probably going to sound like a dumb question... But now that I am unlocked and rooted on my GSM Unlocked Moto X, I'm going to do a reset and start setting it up for real. Is this better to do through settings or through the recovery? If recovery, what all options should I use?
Thanks.
Settings creates a command for recovery to run to do the factory reset (format /data). So, it doesn't matter which you use, recovery is doing to resetting in the end anyway.
Hey, I want to know if I can factory reset my phone when it's rooted and running a custom rom..When factory reset is done anything happens ti my phone...
So i tried to rebrand my chinese huawei honor 9 lite to an european version, i was close to finishing it, then i made a mistake and reset my phone. After my phone opened again all the apps were different color, for example the calculator was orange before i reseted after reset it turned to grey. Also the settings app before was in homescreen now i need to drag down from top of the screen to open settings and worst of all when i click the back up and restore button in settings its blank i can factory reset but it doesnt reset back to the the start where i select language it resets back to the phone homescreen where i swip to unlock and also before reset there was hi apps or app gallery after reset no app gallery. Before reset bootloader was unlocked after reset for some reason it says its locked again. I tried to enter e recovery but when i do factory data reset it doesn't reset to the choose a language section it resets back to homescreen. Also when i go to about phone before the phones name was honor 9 lite now its huawei phone also before the model was LLD-AL00 after the reset it says the model was Unknown
@Imfriendly
Hello,
i think, you need from your build (before rebrand) a FULL-Update to rebrand to delivered state.
if then your phone in delivered state you need from your "wish-build" a FULL-Update.
but - i never phones rebrand. i reed in other threads that first action is flash partition "oeminfo" and then install FULL-Update
i hope this help and work for you
if you only rebrand for google - you not must rebrand : install google-installer https://mega.nz/#!Vlk3TRhR!8lop5P9Nap9QQEc2O0pZwRrlSBYm4o-f7k_4CnRBaJ0
before you anything do - think on backup from your data
I see i just tried to follow a step to step guide yet still messed it up but is there a way for me to reset the phone back to when i first got it cause right now when i do factory reset it doesn't do that and backup and restore function is blank when i click on it in security
