Hi first of all sorry for post here but its kind of urgent i just bought a LG GT540R on ebay for my boyfriend but i realise about a detail and hope you can help with this doubt i have:
1. What is the difference between LG GT540R and LG GT540G as mine is G and i cant find specifications for the R version
2. Carrier is from Rogers Wireless and my bf is on Telus phone will come unlocked and the Cellular Band is: Wcdma (UMTS) / GSM 850/900/1800/1900 will he have any problem cause of this specifications? Im from equador so i have no idea about that band mine is HSPA / GSM 850/900/1800/1900.
Hope someone answer soon !!!
Thanks in advance
Veronica
as far as im aware the letters mean what carrier they are locked to. not to shore though.
Yeah "R" designation is for carrier that bought bulk order from lg.

The specs should be same! Hope it helps Nica? Svlh

It should work, bcos WCDMA is UMTS/HSDPA/HSPA+.
If your phone works in this band, his phone will work too. I think G,R,N maybe will differ bcos it have maybe another apps
hi can someone give me or pm me a mirror for swiftdroid rc3?? i cant get it from deposit files "invalid params"
OK, I have read all related subjects (I think) and haven't come across an answer that has made sense. So I'm asking to get answers from the experts here at this forum.
I am rooted and have achieved the wireless tethering on my Bionic's mobile hotspot. Now, I am in a 3G area. Does this mean I'm only limited to the 3G speeds until I reach a 4G area? Just want to be sure on that one.
2nd question is most important. On my computer I have wireless (obviously), but I noticed that when my PC sees the Bionic, the radio signal is coming out as G. On my WiFi it shows N. So what can I do to put that right or is Bionic only capable of being a G hotspot? I thought it would be N since that's what it is for a smartphone. If so, where do I go in my Windows7 PC or options on my Bionic to correct that?
Thanks all.
Can't help with #2, but the answer to #1 is yes, you will only see 3G speed when connected at 3G.

Bionic only has 802.11G and doesn't support N.
The bionic supports N. It supports the 2.4GHz not the 5GHz.
I connect it to an N only router in my house which I set up myself so yes I'm sure.
As far as your hotspots goes, I noticed that as well, but does it really matter if it says N or G.
N is 150Mbps. G is 54Mbps.
The bionic will only see N speeds when connected to a router.
Don't expect to see anything higher than 54Mbps from Verizon, or even close.
You have sparked my interest with the G hotspot info and I'm going to look into it.
There are similar threads for other phones.
However since I could do this on my recently traded in gsIII Im making a specific one for LG Flex.
Sprint, rooted.
When I make a call my net is killed. I cant surf for information while on a call.
Is there a work around? Hack? App?
Help much appreciated.
What carrier are you on. I'm on t-mobile and have no issues doing this. My son streams Xbox live through my hot spot while I'm on phone calls.

Im on Sprint but I dont think its carrier based. Sprint gsIII there was no problem. Could use phone and stream.
Its only been since I started using my LG Flex.
Id like to see AT&T and Verizon flex owners chime in. But like I said I have no issue with internet conn. While on the phone. "OK google" even responds when I'm on the phone. Found that out by accident. Lmao
D950 (AT&T) Here, and everything works just fine for me.

I'm telling you for a fact that it is sprint and not the flex. I am on Sprint and cannot use data and talk on the phone at the same time. The reason is this: the flex only has 1 radio, where as the gs3 had 2 radios (1 for data and 1 for voice). The reason that t-mobile and att users can use data while on the phone is because they have voice over lte working and sprint does not.

Actually I believe it's because sprint has 3 radios. If you have the new phones that support Sprint Spark then you can't talk and surf (unless on wifi only). Lg g flex is one of those phones. Gs3 is not
That makes sense that its phone based on not carrier based.
One radio means its in use for call therefore no surfing. (Unless wifi - a separate radio).
The gs3 had two radios so one would work for the call and one would work to surf.
Bottom line - sucks. Sometimes you need to find stuff while youre on the phone.
'Hang up, ill call you back after i search...'
90's tech.
Got a Rogers d950g, and AFAIK Rogers doesn't use VoLTE, and surfing while on call is working just fine.

I was just wondering, as EE is giving our area 4g, ATLAST!!!! If it is possible to add a new modem or somthing, without tearing apart the phone.
No.
Maybe Motorola will release a LTE version like the first Moto G.

Yes. Buy a 4G phone and turn on it's WiFi hotspot feature, then connect the Moto G 2nd gen to it
xD No. I was wondering if there was something like the wireless charging adapters

Hypothetically, you could connect a 4G dongle via USB OTG... It would be an absurd thing to do, but hey...
Any devices that would slide under my cover?

LOL, no. You might need to contact Wayne Enterprises for something bespoke.
I don't think anything like that is yet discovered ,so you will have to either connect to 4G using a adapter or buy another phone that supports 4G
Hey, I've got a Moto G LTE from Cricket, I'm wanting to switch to Metro PCS and get their Unlimited 4G LTE... My goal is to tether it to my tablet.
I was wondering if it was possible with my Moto G.... I know I could do it on Sprint with a LG G2, but I really didn't want to switch to sprint and get a new phone, but will if it's my best option.
I'd appreciate a little help, I can stand on my own two feet, just need a little guidance.
i'm guessing that this isn't something that is allowed to be discussed here on XDA because..... I don't see anything about it on here.
