Did anyone receive their Kaiser from MobilePlanet yet?
If yes when did you guys pre-order?

I pre-ordered mine on Aug/27 ... at that time ETA was sept/09
last few days, they have been pushing it back a week...
and as of today it has been pushed back further ( sept/20 !! )
I emailed them for answer and told them that i will cancel the order if they keep doing it again !! ( not good for one's heart ..LMAO !
BTW ... at the original time .. my order was quoted $799 USD + %7.5 tax + S&H (14.99 ) --->>> TTL= CDN $924 +
anyone know anything regarding the quoted price & the balloon prices ???
am I obligated to pay a higher price once stock is in ?? do I get the discount price if it happen to be lower then at the ordered time ??
I'd also emailed them about this already ... and I'm about that close to canceling !!!
there are stocks around ... but it's not right for expansys to keep playing with customers emotion like this ... you're so close to the date & then they just crush your bubbles .. not only one time, but again & again !

Dude I assume that you are in Canada as you converted your order to Canadian. I ordered one with SuperiorGadgets.com from here in Canada and it was only $911 inc Gst and shipping. He will ship by the 9th he says. If price goes down you will be credited if it goes up, they eat the difference. Click on the link at the top of the forum page.

I was going to cancel the order regarding the "in stock" date keep being pushed back ...etc
just got an email from "mobileplanet" and mine is shipped (sept/06/07) ... with tracking number !! ETA Sept/11/07 ... nice date.. eh ??
oh well, I lost $12 ... the price to pay for wanting the latest/greatest.

Just called mobileplanet. They did get an order of 1000 in but they were for retailers and the old backorders. Mine was one day short so will ship next week . Not sure how you managed to snag one today. As far as paying full price there are several reasons.
1) I dont like locked phones.
2) I wanted the base OS not at&t
3) at&t's data plans are incredibly expensive and the difference in data plans would more than offset the 200 saving in less than a year and I would be bound to it for 2 years. Yes I know they have 3g but I dont use data on the go much and edge is fine for now and wifi is everywhere.

I was browsing, and my eye got on these vflyer listings, they are offering tytn II from 300-550 dollars. they seem kind of weird. do you think it's a scam?!

the cheapest ive seen so far anywhere in the xda store here. get the discount club for $35 i think it is and you get the Kaiser unlocked for $718 total with the membership and discount. really good deal at $720.

100 = no camera
110 = Back Camera
120 = Front and Back Camera.

The Western Union thing sounds shakey but he says he's in Florida and tried to call me on the phone although no one was there. Hopefully he's not using the phone he wants to sell me. LOL
Any more thoughts? I can't find any posts about how this is a known scam other than this post.

Well, I warned you. I'm not sure how clearer I can be.
They (and others like them) post the same junk here on a constant basis. Some have fallen for it and, surprise, they've lost their money.
No offense, but just use some common sense. Do you really think any company can sell merchandise for way below cost? Where's the profit?

Sure way to determine if the guy is a scam is see if he's willing to take a credit card for payment or anything other than Western Union.
The scammers know Western Union is their only way to steal.

so he said that they are the ones with BOTH cameras... that would be cool..
see if you can find out where in FL,if he will give you an adress i'll try to drive over and make sure its for real, if it is i would be buying one and i could pick yours up and ship it for you so theres no chance of a scam.

I was about to put this up on ebay but then I suddenly decided to offer it up on here since it is this place that helped me get it up and running with a good ROM in the first place.
I have used this tilt for less than a week. I have never dropped it and there are no scratches. I used it for the BB connect and when it comes to BB nothing does it better than an actual BB. while the Tilt is better than the BB in every other way... I realized that I never use anything else the phone offers.
anyway... I can provide pictures if you want. I just need to take a couple good ones (attached ones I took with iPhone are all blurry).
I have all of the original packaging. I also have a new never opened 3-in-1 2gb Micro SD card (Sandisk) and Car Charger (ATT Branded) to go with it.
Im not looking for any specific price... just make me a reasonable offer.

I believe the higher rates only apply to big-ticket brand new items like laptop computers where the full value must be truthfully declared. At least that's how it works between Canada and the US. This sort of item qualifies as a "gift" so the duty might not be that high.
edit: According to Canada Post, if the value is declared as $100 CAD, customs would be $12.70 shipping to Italy, with the cheapest and slowest shipping method being $17. That would be a net total of 98 EUR.
edit: I just realized that of all the regular posters in the P990 section, I seem to be the only one living in North America O_O

Same goes in Denmark. You gotta be VERY lucky if they let a package slide without declaring it. Might be a little different in Italy, but paying taxes ain't fun, it's like paying for the same thing twice

In comparison, buying anything from the US to bring into Canada is only charged the sales tax rate of the destination province, which is 13% in my province and as low as 5% in Alberta. So a $1000 computer would mean duties of just $130, nothing more.
And if you drive across the border to pick it up yourself, they don't really enforce this law on items that they can't see
