After installing MiniCM7 and it's custom kernel I can't add most of the widgets I download via market. Out of 20 widgets only 1 shows up in widget list.
Is there any way to fix this or am I the only one who has come across this problem?
You moved the widgets to SD card?

The best way I've found to free up memory taken by installed apps was to created a sd-ext partition. To easily create a sd-ext partition follow these instructions:
NOTE THAT THIS WILL ERASE ALL DATA ON ALL PARTITIONS ON THE SD CARD - BACKUP THE SD CARD BEFORE DOING THIS IF YOU WANT TO KEEP YOUR DATA
1. Reboot into recovery mode
2. Select the "advanced" option
3. Select the "Partition SD Card" option
4. You can now set the "Ext Size" for the sd-ext - I use "2048M" which works fine although if you have loads of free space you can select "4096M"
5. Next you'll see a "Swap Size" - After some research I found a swap drive isn't needed and will not really speed anything up (I am not using a swap drive but you may create one if you like - THIS WILL REDUCE THE LIFE OF YOUR SD CARD!)
6. Click next/OK until it starts the partition process - This will now create the sd-ext partition.
Once done I reccomend to clear all data (under mounts and storage, select format /system, format /data, format /cache). Then Come back out to main option list, select "wipe cache partition" and finally "wipe data/factory reset" as if you wer're flashing a new ROM).
Flash ROM and gapps-xxx - Reboot and enjoy!
Hope this helps!
NOTE:
If you decide to change ROMs in future, make sure you select "format /sd-ext" as part of the "clear all data" process.

You've encountered a brick. Now what you should do this is
Open PCC
DO NOT CONNECT YOUR PHONE YET
Under "Support Zone" , click on Start
Opt for "Phone Update Software" and click "Start"
It will complain that no phone is connected.
There'll be a "Repair Phone" option. Click that.
Just follow the steps in PCC. It will tell you how to connect your phone. Update , and in no time you'll get back to Stock ROM.
Re-root. Flash CWM

3. make sure if your baseband is 015 and phone type is not 11w29+ !!!
4. root your phone by clicking padlock icon in the Flashtool!
5. install xrecovery with flashtool by clicking the cross icon
6. unlock bootloader using s1tool
7. flash the latest kernel
8. backup
9. factory reset, wipe data, etc
10. Flash ROM

Hello XDA.
Being a tech illiterate noob, I rooted and tried to install the latest nightly build from cyanogenmod on my Optimus 2x. I gave clockworkmod superuser rights, booted in recovery mode and went on with the install.
Everything went fine (I think) until the phone rebooted. When it started, as usual, the LG logo is shown. Normally another LG logo comes up after the first one, only with an purple animation behind it.
When this comes up, it completely freezes at the very first frame of the animation. I tried waiting, I left my phone for over an hour, but nothing changed.
As previously stated, I am pretty tech illiterate, so of course I didn't make a copy of the original rom.
Now I can boot into something called Android system recovery <3e>, which says:
"Android system recovery <3e>
Android system recovery utility
reboot system now
apply sdcard:update.zip
wipe data/factory reset
wipe cache partition
__________________________
Formatting DATA:...
Formatting CACHE:...
Formatting MISC:...
"
And yes, of course I tried selecting that option, but neither of the keys work. The volume keys work as up and down keys, and the home button shows/hides the options.
I tried downloading the original rom from the giant thread of stock roms, but if you try clicking either of the links, you will see that they are broken.
HELP!
Have you tried the power button yet? Because the power button allows you to select things.
From there wipe everything (data, cache, dalvik) and make a fresh install of cm.

Some of the links there are broken, so I can't manage to complete the tutorial.
Also, I am very sorry, but I do not understand what you mean by that last part.
Let's see, you rooted, installed ROM Manager and Clockworkmod Recovery from within ROM Manager, rebooted and from Clockworkmod Recovery (Black Screen with Blue letters, lets you wipe and install zips from SD Card), you flashed the ROM, is that correct?
Can you boot into Recovery by holding the Power + Volume Down buttons? (hold for about 20 secs, until you get to the second LG screen)
If you can get to the recovery mode, try flashing another ROM.

I manage to start the phone as you describe, by holding down those two buttons I enter "Android System recovery <3e>", and can choose between the options as I described. HOWEVER, I can't select either of them, trying all the possible buttons (even combinations).
Update: I tried following this guide, but with no luck; http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1327599
Good
If you are in Clockworkmod, then you can browse through the menus using volume up/down to move up/down and press the search button (the magnifying glass) to accept or select an option.

The Europe Open could be what I'm looking for, thanks a lot! It's really hard to come by apparently.
Flashing it in CWM wont be possible though. Perhaps through PC software?

You can flash the rom ether with cwm or with smartflash.

Hi guys.
This is the problem: I was running GingerDX v023b and I wanted to unlock my bootloader, so through PC Companion I installed the stock ROM (i is recommended) and unlocked the bootloader...everything worked fine.
Then I flashed the Alfs v08 kernel ("X8_08a-GDX_Alfs&Djnilse.rar") but when I turned my phone on, the Alfs 8 logo appears but then nothing happens...nothing.
I tried to use PC Companion to repair the phone but I can't because it is not detected when I try to connect it in flash mode.
Please guys help me.
Thanks in advance.
pull out the battery. turn on the phone, when it shows the kernel logo press back button repeatedly. you will get into cwm recovery. on pc, download a GB rom. connect the phone to pc through usb cable, in cwm recovery go to mounts and storage > mount usb. copy ROM to your sdcard. unmount usb. install the rom in cwm

Thank's for the help dude.
Everything works until the step "Choose mount USB storage" because in "Computer" folder anything appears.
What can I do?
EDIT:
Dude, it worked. I just had to connect the phone in other USB input and it was detected by the computer.
A BIG BIG BIG thank you. I'm probably being a little dramatic but you saved my life
Thank's dude, everything good for you.
Now I have just 2 little questions.
First: I backed up everythng before unlocking the bootloader, can I restore everything without problem (won't it lock the bootloader again?)?
Second: when a new Alfs kernel update comes out how do I update it?

third party app = app that didn't came with your phone, app which you have installed by yourself, for example titanium backup
if you backed up with cwm, you can try to restore DATA partition only, but i don't recommend you to do it because it can brick your phone

You should use flash tool cause it's easy.when your phone unclocked or other rom.seus or sc may be make phone brick.
i was planned to flash my kernel to v08a
is that kernel really make phone bricked ??
A kernel can't really brick your phone unless it's for another phone. Try re-downloading and re-flashing.
Make sure that your phone manufacturing date is before 11W29, otherwise you may hard-brick your phone.

Because his phone's bootloader was not unlockable(or done steps wrong)
You phone's manufacturing date should be like this written on the back of the phone, on a white stick exactly)
10w20 or 10w21 ..... 11w19 ,11w27...
And should not be like thiswill hard brick)
11w28,11w29,11w30... 12w11 ...
(10=year2010 w=week 20=20'th week of the year)
There are tons of guides in x8 general discussion ...
You can start by using s1tools app(checking BL is unlockable or not) & flashtools for unlocking
If you get hard brick, you should pay up to 50usd for repairs .

Greetings from Colombia. The post I translated with Google translator because not speak English. Hope is not a big problem and I hope I helped. Thanks again.
My problem is this. I have an Xperia X8 (E15i - 11w13) and a few days ago I returned my Xperia X8 to PC COMPANION Stock (Stock Firmware and Kernel) Then using the ROM: rDroid (The best ROM for me)
With my phone in stock. Decides to Flashing ...
+ Then I ROOT my phone with flashtool. All good up there.
+ I decided to install the xRecovery as always and installed (Copying 3 files to System / Bin with RootExplorer)
Restart .. And no, it did not work.
- Investigate and maybe he problem was the permissions. I repeated the process, modify permissions ... And no, it did not work
- Maybe it was the Busybox?. I repeated the process after installing Busybox from the Android Market ... And nothing
- So I thought ... and it decided to install the xRecovery Flashtool, I did and .. It worked!
Already with the xRecovery working and the new ROM on SD Card, decided Flashing.
+ Realize what Wipes and install the ROM ... There all good
+But when the cell lit New ROM test, shoot me Restarts every 10min, with a message in the notification bar that says: "It is safe to remove the SD"
+Or failed the internet or in the Market / Play Store (would not let me download any APP)
+Or And there did not return to take the ROM .. It was stuck on the logo of SONY
+Or And Not even let me enter the xRecovery
Then I play do ... TOTAL STOCK Back to PC Companion.
I returned to Perform ROOT process, Xrecovery (with Flashtool) ... All to Flash the ROM withthe rDroid Cel (The one I was using before the problem and it works excellent)
But what ... Again the same problem. The constant pulling reboot message "Safe to remove the SD"
So when I went back to try to get the xRecovery .. He returned and stayed stuck in the Logo of SE.
And I got to re-do?... Make PC STOCK TOTAL COMPANION :crying:
¡HELP ME!
hi. i understand that you don't speak english, and thanks for the effort in using translate, but i'm afraid i'm not sure i understand. are you experiencing a soft brick now? or is the sdcard error the issue?
if you have a soft brick (stuck in sony logo), try using seus instead of pcc if pcc doesn't work.
if you're experiencing the sdcard issue, backup your sdcard and reformat it. also, install cwm instead of xrecovery as some roms apparently do not support xrecov (i have not experienced it though).
also, are you on stock kernel? i'm not familiar with the rom you're using. or is your bootloader unlocked and you have a custom kernel? and what is the new rom you're trying to use?
Just because i don't doesn't mean i can't.
Just helping
if u want to fix the booloop (stuck at sony logo)
just flash the original firmware by flash tool
download here
and if u want to install custom rom
- Flash the kernel
- Full Wipe (dalvik cache and batery stats)
- Factory Reset
- Install ROM

Hello. Thanks for answering Cascabel.
But I had no brick problem, or soft or hard.
The phone works normally with the Stock ROM, but with a Custom ROM works but has problems (the same problem throughout the ROM I try)
Buy a New SD card (8GB Kingston) to see if the problem was on the sd card. And it still has the same problem with the new card

You don't test or mess xrecovery if you are in custom rom. You'll soft brick even you can boot up to xrecovery and xrec uses amend scripting so CWM in custom rom is the best. Xrec uses busybox and all custom rom can't update busybox.

hi guys, i know it's kind of rude to register and the first post to be asking for help but like i said i am kind of stuck...
i tryed a guide from androidlegend website (would post the link but i am a new user so i can't) to flash CM 10.2 to my 4x
i rooted it succesfully, and came all the way to 3 steps before succes but got stuck on the part where it says:
"Select wipe data/factory reset & subsequently wipe cache partition to wipe the data & caches respectively from the phone memory. Wiping cache partition is not necessary though, since Wiping data / factory resetting phone itself wipes many partitions but still it’s recommended"
i've done that and on the next step it says Now select install zip from sdcard & then on next screen select choose zip from sdcard. It will list all the files & folders located on internal / external storage of your device (depending upon the option you’ve chosen). Navigate to the ROM file that you’ve copied earlier , select it using power button (unless you’re using touch recovery) & confirm the installation by pressing on ‘Yes – Install ____’. This would start the installation process.
but i don't see these options all i have is:
reboot system now
apply update from ADB
wipe data/factaroy reset
wipe cache partition
wipe nv partition
toggle console part log
any ideas what i might be missing?

i tryed a guide from androidlegend website (would post the link but i am a new user so i can't) to flash CM 10.2 to my 4x
i rooted it succesfully, and came all the way to 3 steps before succes but got stuck on the part where it says:
This would start the installation process.
but i don't see these options all i have is:
reboot system now
apply update from ADB
wipe data/factaroy reset
wipe cache partition
wipe nv partition
toggle console part log
any ideas what i might be missing?

it was a guide for the 4 x...
now i don't understand your question?
you need to unlock the bootloader, root it, then flash a custom recovery before you can flash .zip files
