Hi,
I am looking for a app that automatically from 2G to HSDPA Changes when I use the Internet browser or other applications. 2G will be used only for background information.
there is a wide variety of switchers / apps that do this on the market.
the one i use is widgetsoid its free too. just place it on your homescreen and select to toggle between 2g/3g/wifi what ever. as well as a load of other features.
Yes I know that tool but i need one that do it automatik
i have never come across an app that does this automatically, besides how long does it take to touch a icon that does this...... 0.5 - 1.0 seconds....
damn thats a long time lol
Yes I know
It was only a question
Have you tried app called superpower? You can set specific application rules around connection types - must be rooted.

It was exellent on Froyo, but on Gingerbread this exellent apk have some problems. On first, some wunder to much drain batery (see in battery history after some time installed)), and especially with 2g-3g automatic...I was tried early after first time installed Gingerbread.
I was ask Chainfire, if can some make or update for Gingerbread functionality.

To be fair, Widgetsoid doesn't really have a proper 2G 3G switch. What it does is give you a shortcut that takes you to the Network settings.
I don't think there is any Widget that can do that.

Maybe the owner removed it from the market?
Hi

At that pace you look like you will get 20+ hours of moderate usage. I'd say that's pretty darn good, wouldn't you?
I suppose so. Usage was pretty light - it was just in my pocket most of the day. But, if that would last the day for me, then all is well.

are you on GB or ICS?
If you're on ICS, is it stock or custom ROMS? Could you tell me which one is it? And did you delete all the bloatware using Titanium Backup?
Thanks

I'm running a non-rooted version of the stock ICS ROM for the UK. I haven't used Titanium Backup to delete bloatware, but rather just disabled apps such as the Social Hub, built in file manager (I use Astro), calculator and weather widgets. There's a list of save to disable apps on here somwhere. By disabling them, they're removed from your app menu and never run in the background again. I've also got power saving mode on.

ICS?? amazing.. i need to flash stock ICS soon then. Because whichever ICS roms/stock ones i used, they gave me half the battery life than what I used to obtain using gingerbread.
Thanks for your reply bud

You're welcome. That battery life isn't the best either, as according to CPU spy my phone doesn't even deep sleep.
Hello!
My Ace has a problem. Maybe is not only may Ace, but the thing is, sometimes it turns to be verry slow...I mean, realy slow. This, most of the times, happens after he is in standby mode for a long time.
So, my question is: What is the best rom for resolving this problem, keapping everything working properly?
Thanks
Miguel

I had a custom lockscreen that was very slow. If its when you unlock/bring out of standby then it might be the same thing. Use a small (filesize small) lockscreen and see if that helps. If its large and uses 3d etc then yes, it is slow.

another possible explanation is that some people install battery management profiles eg: cpu tuner.
in this case people somtimes apply an overly restrictive cpu profile on the "screen off" profile so it uses only a small amount of battery. While this does indeed save battery, it also causes there to be a larger delay than normal when unlocking the device from deep sleep.
Pete
Try increasing CPU mhz.You can also try tweaking minfree values. one easy way to that is to use ROM toolbox pro Or use RAM manager from the market to give your ace more RAM

I'll try that...or even other roms...thanks everyone!
After a full charge, without even touching it, it drains the battery quite fast! Also I've been on a full Charge and not even an hour of screen time and already 65%. And I've only been using Talk and the xda premium app.
My current rom is aokp_galaxysmtd_jb_build-4
I would most appreciate it if any of you would suggest different kernels or roms or something that could help me with this situation.
Get the BetterBattery Stats app from the market. It gives a much more detailed view on what is eating your battery. I had a similar problem and helped me out with finding a bad app running in the background.

Thank you very much, I'm going to try it and let you know.
EDIT: I used the app, and it doesn't seem like any apps are running in the background other then the default apps such as calander, google search, clock, etc...
Likely it's just my faulty rom (AOKP). I will consider changing it. Thanks for the help btw!
I am running DarkyROM with a semaphore kernel. Really fast and great battery life.

Make sure to also check CPU states in the BetterBatteryStats app. When not doing anything your phone should go into deep sleep. If it doesnt, you can check the Kernel Wakelock en Partial Wakelocks in that app to see what is keeping your phone awake.
PS: I'm using X-Bean 3.0 rom with Semaphore kernel 2.6.1 and very happy with it.
