I saw all the oldest threads about my question... but they are just old...
Can someone help me to find out whats the best Cloud Storage for the lowest price?
Im looking for about 1 year membership and 100GB and more of storage...
Currently having:
box.net = 50GB - 100mb upload limit
dropbox.com = 16GB - need more
justcloud.com = 75GB - requested refund cause they are scumms and cheaters
Please, help me out guyz!
Thx in advance!
EDIT:
Currently Im looking on SkyDrive for 50$ = 100GBs 1year and MediaFire... do you have any experiences with some of those providers ?
Dropbox is the best

Personally I am using dropbox since 2010 and I am totally satisfied by their reliability and speed. If you have an Android phone or an iPhone it has a very nice integration with those OS's. You can also have a look at SkyDrive like you said or Google Drive maybe. I want to believe that both will be reliable and fast as well.

For now Im looking at dropbox, gdrive and SkyDrive...
Dropbox:
Works pretty good, Android, iOS, MAC, PC.. everything just fine. Online UI is perfect, but just one thing that kills me... 99$ = 100GB/year
Google Drive:
Google drive is not so bad, bud I had some bad expiriences with him. I was uploading over the site, and the site just get auto refreshes like gmail. And I didnt had the chance to upload any file The price for it is 60$ = 100GB/year // MAC,PC,ANDROID,IOS
SkyDrive:
Looking at it wright now... looking pretty nice and I can see people talking about it that its pretty good too. The price for it is 50$ = 107GB/year
MAC,PC,ANDROID,IOS
Anyone here had problems with this providers maybe ?
Thank you...

Well yeah dropbox is a bit expensive but it's universal as well, cause SkyDrive will always work better on a Windows Mobile Phone and Google Drive on an Android phone, but you will find dropbox working great in many platforms. SkyDrive is a new approach of Microsoft I also heard it's really fast and reliable so you are on a good path there
What about Mediafire ? anyone had experiences with this service ? Is it more like for simple uploads and stuff like ROMs... or is it good for Backups and stuff like that ?

Box.com - 50GB free storage with an LG Android phone promotion - Works with N4

Box.com has a promotion where they offer 50GB of cloud storage (with no expiry date, unlike Dropbox) to users who buy an LG Android device.
http://blog.box.com/2011/11/50-gb-free-on-all-lg-devices-and-new-android-features/
Turns out, it works with the Nexus 4. Got upgraded from 25 to 50GB as soon as i downloaded the Box app and logged in.
Yay!!

Plus the upload size limit is terrible! Something like you can only upload 100mb files!
There aren't many providers who offer large amounts of storage for free. I for one don't mind the upload limit.
Been using box for about 3 months now and I've had no issues with it. It has a decent android app too.
Plus, Titanium Backup Pro syncs directly to Box. Good way to keep a backup of your apps (Which don't usually exceed 100mb)
Thanks now I got 50gb of storage
Nice!
Just installed on my Nexus 4 and sure enough, upgraded to 50GB.
Thanks for the heads up.

Box can give me 4343345 GB of storage but with the 100mb upload size limit I still won't use it.
Nice find tho, I had no idea.
I already have 50 free gigs from an Android promotion awhile ago. So it would be pretty sweet if I had the Nexus 4, so I could attempt to see if they would upgrade my account to 100gigs
A "friend of mine" did this on an LG display phone in a carrier store and it worked in upgrading his account no matter what phone he used. Login once from am LG phone and the 50GBs are yours. This of course was over a year ago. They could have fixed that by now.

I didn't use Box before, went ahead and signed up on my G2x. Thanks for the tip. Between Box, Dropbox, Skydrive, and Drive, I don't think I should have any storage woes. Ever.

[RELEASE] Cloudcast vs. Chromecast!

Hey y'all,
HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!
I'm excited to share my latest new app in Google Play: CLOUDCAST
Cloudcast lets you play online entertainment from one Android device to another, from anywhere on the planet! Unlike Chromecast, Cloudcast is NOT limited to your Wi-Fi network and you can stream content from ANY website in your device!
The idea was born out of frustration with Chromecast. Google released Chromecast in the summer of 2013 but did not allow independent developers like us to publish apps for it. Since I spent months writing code for their "preview" SDK, I did not want all my work to go to waste. That is when the idea of Cloudcast was born - why not use any Android device as a player instead of Chromecast and not be limited to the Wi-Fi network!
So here it is finally! Hope y'all find the app useful. Let me know what you think. It's a free app, requires latest Google Play & YouTube apps and runs on Android 2.2 or above.
Cheers!

Look around the interwebs. I've seen the MK808 go for as low as $30 recently.
I have had one for about a year now, paid a bit more for it, and am quite happy with it.
Does all the Android stuff well and now even XBMC (13 beta7) runs great on it, using Finless v1.7 ROM and kisses 720p kernel.

Does Google Play work in MK808? I heard others had issues signing in. I'm looking to get one.
The one I used in the Cloudcast demo is Evoke HDI, runs 4.01 but it's a lot slower than even 1.2 GHz phones.
http://evokehdi.com/
I picked it up in Fry's, but no one sells them anymore.
I don't understand this part: ''The free version contains ads and can only cloudcast for 10 minutes at a time.''
10 mins only? then what next, because 10 mins is nothing..
Also can I cast all my movies from a Window PC to my Android stick?..Thanks

Sure, when you use Cloudcast you will be installing in two devices - your phone (the browser/remote) and the Android stick (the media player). The free version is for you to test out Cloudcast in your Wi-Fi network or wireless carrier to make sure it's responsive. If you are casting videos < 10 mins then you won't have to upgrade. After 10 minutes the player will stop to give you an option to upgrade or close. You can still continue to use the browser and play locally or cast again. The browser has no time limits. When you upgrade the 10 time limit for the player is removed and the ads at the bottom of the browser are removed as well. Hope it makes sense.
If you are storing movies in a web server in your Windows PC and if you're able to access them from an Android browser (say http://network_pc/movies/...) then you can play and control the movies from your phone to the Android stick. The PC has to stay on and folders shared for the entire movie.
Instead of a web server you can try shared folders, Cloudcast will work if the URL is accessible by a browser (say file:///network_pc/movies...). My Evoke HDI Android box can see shared folders (without a webserver) and it's also possible with a rooted phone. Hope it helps.

The MK808 has had access to Google Play (and Amazon), whether on Stock or custom ROMs, without any issues. There are JellyBean versions out now, but I have mine still on ICS. Good forum for Android sticks (and not-so-mainstream Tablets) is Freaktab.com. Good place to compare the different Android Sticks and set-top-boxes.

Feels nicer than Cheapcast, but I'm realizing these types of apps can never do paid content, right? I can't do netflix. So these will always be a compliment to chromecast, not replacement.
Or, am I not understanding something? How do I play netlfix, hbo go, hulu plus, etc. I have paying accounts for these. Netflix and HBO Go requires you to play in an app. You can't play in the browser, so that means this won't work, correct?
No paid content yet!

Yes, you're absolutely correct. Cloudcast currently cannot play paid content because there is no user authentication at the player end. Netflix won't play in any mobile browser because of their restrictions. Like you said they want you to use their app!
That said, if the content providers offer a way to authenticate in a web browser (oAuth or login), then we can validate the user at both ends (browser and player). I will look further and see if there are providers that offer that option. Will keep you updated.
I'm sure there are apps out there that "cast" without a Chromecast. If there are enough of us to show content providers the value in offering browser based HTML5 delivery model, then they will soon realize that we all don't need to be locked up in Google's walled garden. This is just a spark and I'm hoping to start a fire!
Calling all indie devs who want to cast without a Chromecast!!
Thank you for this great question. I'll be sure to add this in the FAQs.

[Q] Which Cloud Storage Service Do You Use?

Simple, but I'm curious!
I personally use Google Drive, simply because I was given 100gb storage free for 2 years, I do not currently pay for any storage.
Also - If you don't mind sharing, please mention if you pay for storage, and how much total storage you have available with your preferred storageprovider.
OneDrive, I prefer Microsoft services when possible. Got free one year of office 365 with a Windows 8.1 tablet, so I think I have unlimited storage. Use about 30gb
Google Drive for shared documents and backing up the stuff I can't afford to lose (i had about 18 copied of my graduation paper on there). Just the basic free amount.
Dropbox for files I share that aren't editable documents. Got 50GB free with my TF700T a few years ago, and again with my NotePro 12.2.
But for backup? I never use a cloud, always a harddrive. (or 6)
Cloud is useless once you start dealing with 2GB+ photoshop files. My total backup storage at present is 8TB. No cloud offers me that.

8TB!!!!!!! I would make a joke about, well you know, but it sounds more likely you just downloaded the entire internet.
Cloud storage? What is this thing you call "cloud storage?" Back in my day we stored our files in boxes! My favorite are the ones you get behind the dumpster.

Hm, no, that's about 8 Exabyte. Wish I had that much storage...
It's mainly films, games, photographs and design resources.
I kid you not, my design resources folder (which doesn't include stuff I actually made with them) is about 800GB.
Let's not get started on RAWfiles.. I've got a 70D, which means my RAWfiles are a minimum of 40MB. Per photo. I've got almost 2TB worth of photos.
The films and games, well... The average game these days is 20GB, and a Bluray film is about 50GB.
I'm a bit of a digital hoarder :laugh::laugh::laugh:
I used google drive.
I sometimes use Dropbox for larger files.
OneDrive (Thanks MSFT for 200GB of space for free, but everyday have to use junk Bing), Google Drive (love them because I can set permission for the file I need to keep them secret, for academic purpose )
Mine was Google Drive, and also use MI CLOUD for Mobile data Auto SYNC. xD
OneDrive is the best for me. Simple and easy to use
I don't really consider about space, because i rarely put a huge file on my cloud
google drive is the best.
I use dropbox for the automatic photo backup and for share direct links of images.
For personal use like also big files, i use Drive.
Google Drive. I used to use Dropbox before I switched over (wanted to keep all my things on one platform).
Google Drive , Dropbox , OneDrive ?
Mega. It´s give you 50GB for free

One drive app not showing 100 free gb

We are supposed to get 100gb free space w phone. I installed the app and created account. It only showed me 15gb free space for setting account. How do I view if I got the 100gb additional space? It does not show your total space in app.
Tia,

Same issue here, I submitted a support ticket through One Drive and waiting to hear back.
AT&T removed the stock OneDrive app that comes with the bonus storage. Presumably because they have the competing Locker app preinstalled.

Ok, I found the one drive app inside the Samsung app market. The ATT locker only gives you 5gb vs standard one drive app gives you 15gb free. Hopefully there will be a fix.

I wonder if we can get the OneDrive APK from the international S6 or T-Mobile/Sprint/Verizon and install it and see if we get prompted since the AT&T S6 doesn't come with OneDrive installed at all.

Hi. My name is Dan Crevier and I'm an engineer on the OneDrive team. Sorry to hear you are having trouble with the free Samsung storage. It is only available for devices that have OneDrive preinstalled. Some carriers are not including OneDrive. Could that be the case for you. If not, you might double check your storage at https://onedrive.live.com/options/ManageStorage to see if it has shown up.
I hope this helps.

If you have any other questions or comments, please reply to this message.

This is a partnership between Samsung and Microsoft, not between the carrier and Microsoft. I don't see what the problem is, neither parties involved had any idea that this would be impacted by the carrier removing the app. When I spoke to all three parties they assumed that downloading it would fix the issue. I think the only way anything will be done is if people speak up and communicate to Microsoft, Samsung, and the carrier. Surely ATT can push an update that would have the missing One Note APK.
I just installed an update from Play Store to OneDrive, rebooted and had a notification for the 100GB for 2 years offer. Confirmed camera backup was on, and now I'm sitting at 140GB total.
