Xperia X8 will not boot - XPERIA X8 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello Before I say anything I have searched in the forum and did not found any help with my problem though others had the same and got it resolved
well Here is the problem
I tried to isntal MiniXD or how ever you call the room that everyone uses
but the problem here is that when I did the mobile phone would not boot up
so I have downloaded the SEUS as I have seen in these forums but still it can't find my mobile it tells me to do something from inside the android system but the funny part is that I can't access the system so I can't do what it ask to format my mobile phone.
So What I have to do? I am stuck in the Boot up screen sayin "Sony Ericson" and can't do anything

You may download stock ROM in .ftf format and flash it using FlashTool (search for any B.Jay's post and look at his signature - there's a link to mediafire folder). And I'm a little bit surprise that SEUS doesn't recognize Your mobile, cause You pick it by yourself. Maybe You're talking about Pc Companion?
Anyway - this problem is popular so I'm sure You will find the answer.

Ohh you are right, can you guide me where is that SEUS coz I can't find it in their website ?

ftp://ftp.szybkidownload.pl/Mobilne...rvice_2_7/Update_Service_Setup-2.10.11.10.exe

I have downloaded the software on that link, and its the program I need I guess but it tells me it fails to connect, I have Interent connection as you can see hence I can post here, lol any idea?

Cause it's old version. Check that one that I send as PM.

OR, as previously suggested ...
Click the link in my signature and find the "Sony Ericsson" folder.
Download the 2.1.1.C.0.0 Stock ROM Flashtool image.
Unpack to get to the .ftf
Download the Unbrick .txt file.
If need be download Flashtool from my Flashtool folder
Open the txt file and follow instructions to flash back to Stock by Flashtool

Hey guys ,
i had the cmmini mod 7 that was realsed by cm dev team and for some reason i decided to get rire of it and try the latest mini cm7 2.1.5 listed here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1362585
i didnt run the the nAa kernal befolre instalation and my phone was stuck at the spining logo. after flashing with x10 flasher i was able to boot into the OS but my celluar didnt work ( att us ) basicly i had wifi but my sim card was recocnized but couldnt connect to the towers
I tried to use Xrecovery included in that ROM to reflash and clear userdata/Cache but the SD card wouldnt mount.
I tried using shell to mount Sd card and Chmod 777 it, it seemed sucsesful but Xrecovery was unable to mount ones again....
Sony Erricson's tool doesnt recocnize my phone, i get a "no firmware avaliable yet" message so i am stuck with x10 flasher for now.
i am able to use x10 flasher and use this guide to get into an OS
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=12442257#post12442257
but after many flashes i was sucessful but the says model number E15i, but behinde battery it says 15A which is not good. , im on firmware 1.6 not 2.1
and kernel is listed 2.6.26 [email protected] , baseband is listed as unknown.
i was hoping to root, then install busy box and Xrecovery with CWmod then be able to flash using zip file but superclick says i am rooted and busy box instalation from market place and WIFI says it doesnt have root acess.
At this point this is what i am asuming:
i updated the wrong baseband and thats why i couldnt connect to my carrier and unlocked bootloader is messing up the sony erricson software. i have tried flashing so many difffrent versions i probably have lots of confused firmwares working toghter. at this point i think i will exhaust the flash write cycle in next few days
so far i am unsusesful in finding correct 15A 2.1 stock ROM, and correct baseband. they are lots of Zip files but non that are .TFT that the x10 flasher can read.
in extensive search on XDA i found this link with lots of firmwares and basebands
http://www.mediafire.com/?d3pobqqc3py66
no luck so far
please help me , i never been so confused in my life
i have the Android SDK ready to go with all updates in case some shell push pulling is nessesary. any recovery APK i try downbload with QR scaner fails because i am on android 1.6
Wouldn't've happened with reading before doing ...
The E15i baseband is for the regions according to European GSM/UMTS standards.
The E15a baseband is for regions according to Northern American GSM/UMTS standards.
If you flashed your phone with the E15i baseband it's not exactly a great wonder that you can't connect "to the tower" (or mobile network, which would be the way better term). To make the phone work in the US you need to flash the E15a baseband.
Anyway, at first you better get yerself Flashtool 0.2.9.1.
The newer 0.5.x.x versions really didn't do it for me.
Then you get yerself the E15a version 015 baseband FTF file.
Once you got the right baseband you download the SEMC Stock Android 2.1.1.C.0.0 FTF file.
Extract Flashtool to C:\Flashtool and put the .FTF files into C:\Flashtool\Firmwares.
Power off your X8, start Flashtool, select the baseband FTF as the first file you want to flash and then connect your phone in Flash-Mode as Flashtool tells you.
Once you flashed the correct baseband you repeat the procedure with the actual Android OS FTF.
When done you should have a working, and booting, Stock ROM on your phone again.
If it worked - Flashtool can root your phone and inject xRecovery.
EDIT: The ROM is not exactly related to the baseband. While there ARE Flashtool bundles that contain the baseband, the 2.1.1.C.0.0 FTF I linked you above does NOT come with a baseband - that's why you need to download that one extra and flash it first.
Oops, ignore

You can simply use SEUS to recover your bricked X8.
IT seems to be the bootloader i was able to find a copy of the original Xrecoery back up and i still have no service.

If you try in SEUS you need to proceed like you would do in Flashtool ... Turn the phone OFF, make sure it is NOT connected to the computer (though, let the USB attached to the phone), trigger the "Repair" function and connect the phone in Flash-Mode (HOLDING the Back button while connecting the phone to the computer) when SEUS asks you to.

Strange ... I used the 2.1.1.C.0.0 file I linked you to recovery my X8 just a few weeks ago. Things worked out perfectly; no "Exclamation mark" or whatever else.
Unless one the FTFs got broken during the download it should work.
You have to unlock the bootLoader
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1254225
then flash the suitable kernel
then flash the rom u prefer
miniCM7.1.5 needs nAa kernel ( i think )
and thanks " B.Jay " for the inf.
You can try Wotan Client for repair...Google it
thanks for many replies
SEUS didnt work for me in FLASH mode. i was however able to use a rom that SEUS reconzised as 2.0 XXXXX and updated and repaired.
Unfornatley the sim card still wont register. I belive something in the bootloader process messed up my device.
I can see the carrier under manual mode, but when pressing ATT it takes about 1 minute and says " cannot register this sim on network" i tried with another SIM same issue.
Do u guys have any ideas of what i should do? i am on a windows phone from 7 years ago and i am too broke to buy a phone. At this point i am willing to try anything because sony errison USA support sucks they told me it can take a month for me to even know if they will repair it and when i can have the phone back
THANK YOU ALL!
Relocking bootloader will fix this but you cant able to install custom kernels...
But remember relock the bootloader only if you are on stock kernel..

Assuming you meanwhile managed to flash the required E15a baseband the question would be ...
The SIM you're using - did you previously activate the SIM on the X8 with the default stock firmware or did you pull the SIM out of another phone and simply put it into the X8?
In the first case (phone and SIM got activated before you ran into problems) it should work; at least I can't think of a reason why it shouldn't. In the second case (SIM from some old phone put into the X8) you need to call ATT and have them activate the new SIM/phone combination. I'm pretty sure they won't be happy with you as they don't have much love for "3rd party" devices not containing the ATT customizations.
I format the system of my Sony X8
I format the system of my Sony X8 with the Xrecovery and now when I reboot, I'm only getting the Sony Ericsson logo.
How can I repair the X8 smartphone? with flashtool and generic firmware?
where can I find that software?

You can use SEUS to repair your phone link: http://sony-ericsson-update-service.en.uptodown.com/ . The flashtool only works when you have your bootloader unlocked which i dont think you do link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1254225 . Really?
Well, in this case I assume my X8 must possess special powers as I restored through Flashtool with a LOCKED boot loader (which, according to what you wrote, is deemed impossible).
Now... to make sense...
You can ONLY restore a Flashtool ROM image that doesn't contain the "baseband" (read: the Stock Kernel and related parts) for as long as the boot loader is locked.
However, there are some Stock 2.1 ROM images (such as the 2.1.1.C.0.0 FTF) for the X8 that only contain the ROM but not the "baseband" part - that one can be easily flashed with locked boot loaders (of course you have to run on the Stock Kernel ... if not, then the boot loader is unlocked anyway and flashing back a fully-contained FTF, or the separate baseband FTF, isn't a problem either).
Also note that if the "Repair" function of PC Companion just throws a "No update available" message you'll have to resort to Flashtool.
EDIT: As for the recommendation to unlock the boot loader ... this is lacking that sweet little WARNING that trying to unlock a X8/W8 made at 11W29, or later, will turn the device into hard brick at a 99% probability. Find the "Warning ahead of bootloader unlock" thread and read up on it.
To check if your phone would be safe for boot loader unlocking: Turn off the phone, take out the battery, look at the sticker below ... and if it's at, or past, 11W29 (Week 29 of 2011) then you well better don't even try.

You can only flash stock kernels and stock ROMs on a locked bootloader! Why would you confuse someone who clearly hasn't a clue. SEUS will apply the lastest update hence restoring a bricked phone. You went into flashing a stock ROM with no links or nothing to backup what you are saying. If i was new to this i wouldnt even look at your post because it wouldnt make any sense. You have "baseband" also in your post and not explaining what a baseband is. Even if someone HARDBRICKS you can still restore the phone. You just need the balls to open your phone or send it off to someone who will. YOU CAN NEVER REALLY BRICK A PHONE!! His main question was "where can I find that software?". Edit your post slowface!

Oh wow ... seems the one having no idea is rather you.
Well, here's the file collection out of my backups on Minus as I'm too lazy to dig up the threads for you...
SEMC Stock 2.1.1.C.0.0 FTF (no baseband)
SEMC X8 E15i Baseband 015 FTF
SEMC X8 E15a Baseband 015 FTF
SEMC Stock Kernel 2.6.29 FTF (Kernel ONLY!)
Here's your proof that there's a Stock ROM FTF you can flash into a locked boot loader X8 simply because it does not contain the baseband/kernel ... they are extra downloads (i.e. for restoring back to Stock from a custom Kernel).
I also linked the barenaked Kernel without the baseband parts, just to show you that even this thing exists.
The next time you try to play smart ass do your research first - you will find the things I linked above right here in ancient threads.
Anyway, I don't feel like I need to explain myself to you.

[SOLVED] Unbrick c5303 possible?

Hey Folks,
Yesterday I came accross a new firmware for my C5303 (Stock) Rom. Problem was, something went fishy on my computer and the upgrade process went south midways.
Probelm being: I have neither rooted, nor unlocked the bootloader.
Is there a way to unbrick? Unfortunatelly I have learned, that appart from other SONY devices, the SP is not so peachy when it comes to custom roms.
Current state:
The device is not recogniced by the flash tool of Sony, or the suite.
Could someone point fingers where to look for a solution?
You will have to flash an FTF file using "flashtool".
A search on this forum will surely point you in the right direction.
There are already plenty of guides.
Good luck!

I bricked mine yesterday at 11 pm,couldnt sleep right cause of the panic. xD
My C5303 has a LOCKED BOOTLOADER too,and I was stuck at the SONY logo.
I downloaded Flashtool.
I installed Flashtool.
This procedure is neccessary in order to install fastboot/flashmode/adb drivers. If you already did it,skip it.
If ur on windows 8,move ur mouse coursor to top right of the screen,a toolbar will appear.
Then click SETTINGS.Then click CHANGE PC SETTINGS.When it opens, select UPDATE & RECOVERY.Select RECOVERY.Select ADVANCED STARTUP.When it reboots, you will see a blue background and an option,i think it is TROUBLESHOOT,anyways, look for DISABLE DRIVER SIGNATURE VERIFICATION.But as I remember,i was put with a choice of selecting a number, and i pressed 7-DISABLE DRIVER VERIFICATION.
The PC will boot like nothing is changed, but now u can install the drivers.
Go to Flashtool/drivers and open the installation program
Select "Flashmode drivers","fastboot drivers" and "common drivers for Viskan board(these are the ADB drivers ONLY for the Xperia SP)"
The PC will ask you to allow the driver installation, allow all of them.Reboot ur pc again, and connect ur phone in flashmode for the pc to link the flashmode drivers to ur Xperia SP,then u can begin.
Download this firmware FROM THIS LINK
http://www.xperiadownload.cz/phocadownload/userupload/download/2013/SP/C5303_12.1.A.1.205_CE.rar
extract the ftf file with any rar program, then move the .ftf file to the FIRMWARE folder in the directory where flashtool is installed, mine is C:/Flashtool.move the .ftf file into (DRIVE):/Flashtool/firmwares
Open Flashtool, select Flash with Flashmode, wait for the program to say that u can connect ur xperia sp with the PC.To enter Flashmode hold the Volume DOWN button while connecting the phone to the PC.
I reccommend using the SONY cable,as i have a feeling it is the best one for these things.
Let Fashtool flash everything,do not touch the device at all until the Flashtool allows you to do so.

Use Sony pc companion.
Follow the steps in the repair section. That should fix it.... You prolly flashed via flashtool without enabling unknown sources and maybe without USB debugging.

help with fastboot for newbie

i have xperia zr cc5502 with 5.1.1 stock installed on it
i have tried to follow CM tutorial on thier site wiki.cyanogenmod.org/w/Install_CM_for_yuga
but when im trying to do fastboot im getting waiting for device's and i do have fastboot installed via android studio
and i managed to get my phone into fastboot mode(blue notification light)

Did you install the relevant drivers for the ZR? Easiest way to do this would be by installing Flashtool (by Androxyde), which includes a GUI for flashing images via fastboot.

That's because you don't have the drivers installed. And I didn't mean SP Flashtool - that's for MediaTek devices. We use Flashtool by Androxyde (Google it) for Xperia devices, and it's a lot less difficult to use (no scatter files, for example). There are several guides on XDA for Flashtool, look for one. In those guides, you'll see how to install the drivers. Also, Flashtool can unlock your bootloader without wiping the internal data or anything, so it's preferable to the normal way.

okay i followed the instructions and it said everything went successfully
but from some reason the light switched from blue to red and then no light and now i cant enter any mode(fastboot or recovery)
i used the the instructions here orum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2658952
edit: if i pull out the battery and then turn it back in and then press the power button it vibrates for a second
edit 2: the phone began to heat up,now it's very hot and it's connected to anything
That's odd... Please state exactly what you did, what you flashed (if you did flash something), and if possible, the Flashtool output for the operations.

Woah, $50?! The only way I can think of that justifies $50 for that repair would be if the motherboard was f**ked up and they had to replace it. If that's what happened, then congratulations; most phones don't recover from motherboard damage. ?

Sounds like your phone magically became carrier customized, which probably means the motherboard was replaced, or a new bootloader/ROM specific to that carrier was flashed.

ftf file doesn't show in flashtool

Hello guys. Need help here.
I have D5833 and want to upgrade/root my phone. Downloaded required ftf file, installed latest flashtool on 32bit win7 laptop, and also latest java. Ofc all necessary drivers are installed and xperia companion.
Put the ftf file in /.firmwares folder but in flashtool it showed nothing. Tried another ftf but nothing. I've also tried uninstalled and reinstalled flashtool and still nothing.
I've tried searching the forum and also googling much for the answer but no solution found.
What did I miss here?
Any reply and any help is much appreciated.

Hi!
The Firmwares folder is located in the C:\Users\yourusernamehere\.flasthtool\firmwares. Have you put it there? If Yes and its still not detected, try using an older version of Flashtool ( 0.9.11 ) works well.
Good luck!
Ok, so older version of flashtool really does works. Downloaded and used 0.9.18.6.
Something with the latest version, huh?
Thanks for the reply
