Does anyone have the latest Non-LTE Verizon PRL? I figure Motorola DROID 3 would be the best place to ask.
I'm also looking for the Alltel Preferred PRL too
I believe the latest one for LTE devices is 14008, but I'm also looking for the Non-LTE one. Can anyone help me out?
How do you get the prl ?

Definitely NOT an LTE PRL. I got it from the PRL sticky thread on HowardForums Verizon Wireless. It is the latest current NationWide EvDO PRL. I didn't pull it from my phone because I don't have a 3G phone activated right now, but I did load it on my D3 with QPST and it is definitely a valid EvDO PRL.
I happen to have a Chinese xt883 radio running on my D3 with a T Mobile SIM, and this PRL works when loaded with QPST to run a VZW service programming on that radio and allows the phone to run in Global mode with GSM service active. This is the same way I had it setup with the prior 52341 PRL that I have from when the device was last activated on VZW.
LTE PRLs start with 140xx or 150xx and the latest that I am aware of is 15098 which I have on my LTE SIM for Bionic/D4/GNex.
The Alltel preferred PRLs start with 570xx or 580xx and I am not certain of the latest but they don't update those frequently as those areas affected are static.
I have a very large number of PRLs, mostly VZW EvDO ACII/NW as those are the ones I have pulled from my own devices for years, but I know where to get almost any PRL you might need from friends.
This is the PRL you asked for though.
Send my regards to Ken!

That's definitely it. I'm on a Verizon plan but an Alltel convert and it's what I have on my D3.
Okay fair, enough. So this is the absolute latest one?
Is there an Alltel Preferred Non-LTE PRL? The 14XXX are the Alltel Preferred LTE PRLs, that I know for a fact.
Is it 58008? Because I actually have that.

I'm getting an alltel cdma hero and I live in an area where Verizon has amazing coverage and alltel is poor at best. I was wondering if I would be able to use a radio from an eris on my hero?
Using a Verizon radio doesn't mean you get to use Verizons towers.
I forgot to mention I use a verizon prl too
I don't think you'll use their towers unless you are roaming. However, I use a Verizon radio on my Sprint Hero and have waaaay better service. So, try them out.

Here is how I understand PRL to work:
It is not a list of all of the "home network" towers. If you are using a Verizon PRL, you will be using Verizons "negotiated" towers. These towers are from other providers, not Verizon.
I kind of doubt there is a way to snake into their network without being on their network. Ya know what I am saying?

I know what a prl does and on my htc diamond it defaults to the verizon network except for when im using ev-do data. I know this because my phone shows the 1x symbol im on my home network and when i dial out on *228 i get verizon and if i dial a number i cant reach i get verizon indicating that my alltel phone thinks verizon is its home network, but other than that all my questions have been answered thanks guys.

Regarding the Verizon radio, are you talking about the radio for the Eris dump? ALSO: I came across a VERY peculiar thread in the Evo section. It talks about how alltel was bought out by Verizon, and you can use an Alltel PRL to use Verizon's towers for signal, but still stay on Sprint. It's kind of confusing, but awesome (if it will work for us): http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=696073

No you can't, Sprint hard blocks their phones to prevent you from using it on any other US carrier.

Interesting, I was going by the information in this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2415587
And I assumed that Sprint did it to all their phones because it would be odd to just hard block a single model.
I have unlocked mine but have had no luck connecting to att when putting my att sim in

You can sim unlock the Sprint One and use it per this article.
This model of the One supports Sprint's 3G (CDMA 800/850/1900) and LTE (1900 only) networks, along with GSM/EDGE on 850/900/1800/1900 and HSPA 14.4 on the 1900 and 2100MHz bands. That means this phone will roam internationally at 3G speeds. In theory, you could unlock it to work poorly on AT&T's and T-Mobile's networks, but it wouldn't be able to take advantage of fast speeds on either.

I have HTC one unlocked by Sprint and Galaxy S4 unlocked with DFS tool. Neither can get any signal from ATT or Tmobile including all the MVNO.
Lycamobile sim card will show "Roaming" with HTC one, but it keeps dropping. Dev said Sprint blocked MNC/MCC of ATT/Tmobile.
I can get on T-Mobile fine, never tried AT&T but it would also depend on the frequency that is in use in your market. Regarding the Sprint GS4, the unlock method out for it will only unlock for international only, while the unlock on HTC is a true unlock and will work as long as the bands are compatible.

After you've done the unlock for the Sim, can you see the other available networks while the Sprint sim is still installed or do you have to remove the Sprint Sim and install a T-Mobile or ATT sim for it to be able to "see" other networks??

Only one sim slot and haven't tried. In Settings>mobile data>network mode you can select CDMA only and see Sprint 3G with either SIM in, LTE/CDMA will give Sprint voice with other SIM and Sprint 3G and/or LTE data only if Sprint SIM card in. GSM/UMTS only can only be selected if a GSM sim is inserted if I recall correctly. The GSM options including search networks are only available on that mode.
It would be cool if I could use T-Mobile's 3G for data and Sprint's CDMA for voice. Is this possible?

I do not think so not without manually switching the modes on and off. The moment you select the T-Mobile network your voice & phone number will switch to whatever is registered on the T-Mobile sim.

To start with, kudos for this site. I have been reading it many times and am amazed at the community of developers around here.
Secondly, I searched but couldn't find my answer anywhere. And lastly, I apologize to the moderators if I posted this in the wrong place.
Anyway, here is my question: I have 2 HTC One right now, one is from Sprint and the other from AT&T. Here where I live, Sprint will only go on GSM networks but AT&T goes on the 4G LTE network. Both phones are unlocked since I am using them in Canada.
Is it possible to flash the Sprint phone with an AT&T Rom so I can force it to go on the 4G LTE network like my original AT&T does? I am in the impression that there are not many different phones except many carriers have specific bands that they use.
MAny thanks to those who will guide me in the right direction.

no you can't flash a gsm rom on to a sprint phone. sprint is cdma. you'll mess up or brick your phone.

You may want to list your specific carrier, but pretty sure Sprint's One only supports 1900MHz-band LTE.

This is correct. The sprint One will not be able to use AT&T's LTE on 700mhz.
Can't understand something.
I am on Virgin Mobile. When I use the Sprint phone, it says GSM as my connection. When I use my AT&T phone, I get either 4G alone or with the LTE symbol below it.
Both phones has the same menu when I do the *#*#4636#*#* so can someone explain why I can't get 4G on Sprint using the same SIM card?
I thought they only made one phone and added the rom that best suited the carriers.

Nope, it's much more than just software. There are several models of the One that HTC manufactures so they can optimize the antenna design to various regions/carriers.
The Sprint model can connect to the following frequencies (link):
2G/2.5G - GSM/GPRS/EDGE: 850/900/1800/1900 MHz
3G - UMTS/ HSPA: 1900/2100 MHz with HSPA+ up to 14.4 Mbps
3G - CDMA: 800/1900 MHz for Sprint
4G - LTE: Sprint: 1900 MHz

I wonder than why it doesn't connect any higher than GSM? I mean Virgin has roughly the same frequencies as Sprint if I go by the chart you provided. Never thought this was going to be that complicated...
Hope I'm not hijacking this thread, but I'm also interested in trying to flash a WWE rom (non carrier specific) to my phone, while I do have a sprint htc one. I reside in a region that only utilizes GSM so i don't need support for CDMA. Higher up in the thread someone stated that doing so would lead to bricking the device, but has anyone ever tried?
You can get psuedo-4g on gsm using the sprint model, you just wont be able to tell because it will only say gsm. 14.4mbps is the 4g you get with att unless it says LTE along with it, then you are connected to att lte.
The sprint model only has the LTE radio for sprints LTE in the USA. If you slid a tmo sim in your att phone, it wouldnt be able tp connect to LTE eother since they ise different bandz as well.
Hope that made sense

Yes, many have done that. A quick search in the general section will turn up several threads with a similar title of "I accidentally flashed a GSM ROM on my Sprint One and now it's bricked." The solution is to ruu back and you can get it working, but I WOULD NOT FLASH ANYTHING OTHER THAN A SPRINT ROM FOR A SPRINT PHONE.

So then...whats the problem you seem to believe sprints version is the only one without att LTE, when in reality, the inly one with att LTE is the att version.
You cant flash a tmo rom on your att version even though theyre both gsm.
You cant flash a verizon rom on your spribt phone even though theyre both cdma.
Like i told you, 14.4 mbps is HSPA aka "4g" on tmobile and att. And you keep saying "it only goes upto GSM". Do you even know what youre talking about? Put the sim in your sprint phone, you will get "4g" GSM speeds. Use an app like sppedtest to try it out. "4g lte" means you are connected to the lte network.
If you get wifi everywhere you go, i honestly dont understand the point of this thread.

Exactly. I don't even know anymore if I have had a straight answer or not!
I found a link somewhere on this site that shows Sprint phones in their lonely category. I guess it does look like the Sprint HTC One phone was made with leftovers, sort of the black sheep of the family.
I so wanted to be able to transform it in a 4G LTE working phone but now, it looks likes it's a pipe dream after all:crying:.

Does anyone else have this issue? It is a stock factory HTC One, nothing custom.

I don't think the Verizon model will have the correct radio frequencies to use T-Mo's LTE or HSPA+ network, hence you're stuck on Edge. If you're staying with T-Mo, I'd suggest selling your current One and buying a T-Mo specific HTC One.

This is pulled from Verizons website
Network: LTE, CDMA/1xEVDO Rev. A (800/1900 MHz)
Global Network: EDGE/GSM (850/900/1800/1900), HSPA/UMTS(1900/2100) aGPS capable for E911 emergency location, aGPS (assisted), sGPS (simultaneous), Standalone GPS, eCompass, GLONASS
T-mobile uses the 1900 Mhz base band and the HSPA as well. So i don't see the issue in that one.

From what I can tell, nobody uses the dual 1900/2100 to achieve 4G like TMO. The UMTS referred to on that phone is for worldwide use, not US. So while it may have the frequencies, it is not set up to use them like TMO. Your software and firmware are set up to work with Verizon and overseas, not with a competitor like TMO. TMO refers to theirs as HSPA+. However, it might work on the new "reframed" 1900 bands (which is called HSPA), but those are not very highly deployed. Unfortunately, I don't see LTE on that list of frequencies. The TMO LTE is really great. EDIT: I mean TMO LTE, which is also 1700/2100.
I suppose you could try unlocking it and flashing the TMO radio, but there is an entire thread on trying to unlock TMO frequencies (in that case on the developer version), and no one has figured it out yet.
I concur that your best bet would be to sell the phone and get a TMO model.

What he is referring to is that what Verizon uses as "3G" is CDMA technology. So although they (T-Mobile and Verizon) may be on the same frequency they're using totally different technologies. Just because it has a sim card slot for a Verizon sim doesn't mean the device will be compatible with another carrier's sim. A custom ROM would not resolve this issue. Your best bet would be to sell this device and purchase one from T-Mobile. :fingers-crossed:

My understanding is that the devices run on different systems for 3G and different LTE bands. You wont get more than GSM compatibility (GPRS, EDGE). Hopefully it is something that a software hack can fix but if you read around all the HTC One forums you will see no one has found it. Right now it is not possible.

My question is that HTC makes phones for all T mobile verison sprint the same, so I believe its just software problem that we cant use Tmobile 4g lte on Verizon unlocked phone. SO does anyone have any comment for that?

It is hardware not software that is the issue. The T-Mobile variant has different bands than the other variants including Verizon. T-Mobile is a GSM variant while Verizon is a CDMA variant. Here is a comparison of the specs for the variants.
CDMA and GSM technology requires the antenna to be done differently. If they are not programmed to use those signals. Nothing you can dox will change it short of putting a new antenna in.

Because you can only unlock GSM. Cdma uses the serial/esn number of the device.
Has there been any update on this? I called tmobile and they said it was simply because I couldn't put in the APN. So, there's no chance that rooting the phone and putting a tmobile rom on it would fix the problem and let me get more than edge speeds.
I myself have been wondering the answer to this. The device might seem the same but under the cover they are different. The actual daughter board which the camera, vibrating thing, volume rocker, power button are connected to are fairly different from each other. The CDMA variant is not compatible with the GSM variant. Not even by adding a CDMA daughter board to the GSM motherboard and vice versa, the are made quiet differently and will not be able to use GSM bands on a CDMA m7

¤-¤-TIP FROM THE NOOB-¤-¤
1. Enable USB Debugging before flashing custom recovery.
2. Make a backup via recovery before granting apk's root permission, editing system files, or flashing a new Rom

I have a Nexus 6 that I bought from Motorola.com and am using it with an activated nano sim card on Verizon. Previously I have had no problems with getting signal (LTE or 3G) but now that it just updated to 5.1.1 I can only get 3G when network settings are on "LTE/CDMA" and I get LTE when set on "LTE/GSM/UMTS". I am in an area that has pretty strong 4G but cant get it unless I change the setting. Has anyone else had a problem with this? Also I am open to suggestions for alternate ROMS that have been found to work well on Verizon. Thanks.

Verify that you are using the correct APN. However, I believe the correct setting for you would be LTE/GSM as Verizon is a GSM carrier.
LTE/CDMA works fine for me on Verizon.
Verizon is not a GSM Carrier. They are CDMA just like Sprint. The only reason both companies use SIM cards is for LTE only.

Thanks for clarification! I thought AT&T was the other CDMA and the rest were GSM besides Sprint. Again, thanks for setting me straight.
AT&T and T-Mobile are GSM, Sprint and Verizon are CDMA. Just for future reference.
