yes for other phones that have a secondary boot loader such as magldr on the hd2 and the rom/kernel has to be made for the sd card to run

How to make it
Hi is there any update on it . If no plz direct me where to start if I wish to do it myself.

There is a thread in the developer section about a kernel for multiboot.

Seriously? If you are capable of finding and bumping this super old thread I think you can spend 20 seconds and look into the dev section for your answers, stop being lazy and look

رد: [Q] Multi boot from SD card
Hello, I found several threads about kernels supporting multiboot. Will those work if I want to boot another OS (Ubuntu or Debian for example) from the SD ?

[Q] HTC HD2 Android APPS2SD

Hi Hello,
this is my first post in this forum and I hope you will forgive me my bad english and the fact, that 2 hours of searching haven't figured out answers to my problem.
I flashed my HD2 by using this thread -> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=893620
Everything worked well and I'm really impressed of the performance my HD2 now shows.
My problem:
I wish to install APPS2SD and searched quite the whole Internet for a manual to do it.
But it seems all manuals are NOT for my configuration.
Due to the flashing process there is hspl 2.08 and magdlr 1.13 installed on my phone.
When I try to get in "recovery" via magdlr it says something like "missing source".
I guess something is missing but I didnt't get it.
So please can anyone show me the way to get APPS2SD installed?
Thank you!

There are many roms supporting this feature automatically when you have an SD-ext partition.you can try one of them.

Please see teh first thread in this forum it has links to many relevant articles that you might want to read...
I couldn't get all what you mean but here goes it...
To keep your phone memory empty you can move apps to sd-card...Learn more at http://yagyagaire.blogspot.com/2011/09/how-to-install-applications-to-sd-card.html
If you are looking for Samsung Firmwares latest is 2.3.5 (not Official for all regions). There are many custom roms (not by sasmung) available to install and most of them are based on GB 2.3.4 (so they are also like latest). Please find more info in their threads in Development section of Galaxy Mini forum.
Updating will remove all your apps, settings, data, etc. and install a new firmware. So, it is a most to do a backup of your apps, contacts and other data first. You data on sd-card will be safe.

Nothing offensive but that's why noobs shouldn't root their phones.
What android version do you have btw?
If it's 2.3.4 you could try yagya's tutorial on his site: yagyagaire.blogspot.com/2011/08/how-to-root-samsung-galaxy-popmini.html
If it's lower, you should consider flashing 2.3.4.

[WARNING THREAD] must read this before doing anything

here are some points which a mini user must follow to keep his g'mini away from problems
Flashing roms:-
now many mini users flash rom on their mobile with stock recovery then create a thread here saying "I did this how to get this fixed" why you not read before doing anything
be sure to flash cwm to your phone with Odin and never flash it through rom manager even if it shows g'mini in the list
ROM manager:-
Flashing recovery through rom manager is highly risky 99.99% are of bricking their mobile (obviously can be revived), although many users have posted that they have successfully flashed rom (not recovery) through the app, but still am warning you to not use it on any cost and also I will also like to ask devs to remove it from their rom, by including the app in their rom people got encouraged to use it, I am not blaming the developer of rom manager, he is doing a very great work but rom manager is not made for galaxy mini
Touch firmware update:-
Many of you are interested in special codes which have to put in the dialer to access special areas of android os
in the bulk of those codes there is a code for updating touch firmware, but you are warned that you should not do this, these days many problem are coming about touch, updating touch firmware will brick your touch, and flashing will not do anything and its a tricky job to get the touch working again
but if you have did update even after reading this please do not create a new thread instead write problem here, all the members here will try to solve it
what is touch firmware update:- there is an option in samsung's android phone to update its touch firmware, and its a very risky task to do, 80% of the result are of bricking the touch, and then what happens is hours of Googling, unwanted tensions in mind and obviously a bricked touch
how to fix it:- http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=22709246&postcount=1 here is a very good tut on fixing your touch
Rooting and Unrooting:-
Currently there are two packages to root galaxy mini, both have their on advantages, but you need to keep in mind that you must use the same packages for rooting and unrooting, using different packages can cause instability.
flashing recovery:-
flashing recovery through rom toolbox or flash_image binary is not recommended it may lead to a brick, instead use the method discribed in thousands of tutorial around internet, most secure way to flash recovery is through Odin using a recovery.tar file according to your current version
unlocking phone:-
many of you wanted to unlock your mobile to use other company's sim on your sim locked mobile, and thousands of articles are there to do this in galaxy mini, but don't for get to backup you efs folder to a safe place so of something just mis-happens then you can use the backup to restore the imei, another thing is never make any changes to the file located in the efs folder, or else you will have a mp4 player instead of a fully working android
Please Xplain more about Touch Firmware Upgrade, what's its effect on sensitivity, silky smoothness.....
I know there is Google but regarding to mini's touch we could understand better.
He had given so important guide and in return he had got only 1 thanks .

No, actually I had been lurking on the forums for sometime so knew about this. But I have heard too many horror stories
if someone is dumb enough to do anything with his phone without any knowledge about it... let's just say, remove all warning labels from all kinds of products, and let the natural selection begin
thanks for advice

Lg 2X Bot loader to be unlocked

:fingers-crossed:
Hi Developers and guys.
I have seen bootmanager android from which we can flash up to 5 custom roms on our sd card without touching our phone actual rom,
i have mailed the developers of bootmanager to include our 2X in there supported device, but got a reply from them " The lg phone doesnt give us access to the parts of the phone we need to edit to make the app work ",
i think they want to unlock the boot loader, but they not get any success in it,
so my question is to the great developers and programmers can we make a similar app for our lovely 2X, or can we unlock the boot loader for them....
Wrong section sir, you should post it to Q&A threads.

I know but if i posted it in Q&A threads no one will reply to it, my concern is to ask developers to make a similar app for our phone so we can also have dual boot phone, while having custom GB 2.3 we can test and try ICS with out flashing directly to our phone, as u know ics is still buggy and with out H/W acceleration.
Im sure that they are having issues in bootloader to search and boot the rom from sd card, i think rusty the maker of cwm may help us in this...

Whilst it's a nice idea, I've never really understood the need for dual (or more) boot on a phone, a nandroid takes about 3minutes to restore?

Its not a thing as i also know that after playing with roms i can restore nandroid, but actually what im trying to say is that if we can dualboot our phone then we can have stable and daily use rom in our phone, and we flash any nighty or beta builds on our sd card with out disturbing our actual stable rom, just reboot your phone to go in to the stable daily use rom.

As already mentioned in this thread, you can message them back and tell them that there are no restrictions whatsoever. The bootloader is unlocked, hell you can even change partition sizes with NVFlash.

That's a) not true and b) no reason. dev section doesn't mean that everything development related goes in here but that this is for posts from developers who have created "it". Thus I asked a mod to move the thread to the right section.
By the way: With Rusty and me two RCs are regularly reading the Q&A section, and lots of other really capable people are as well.
Regarding the dual boot: Several people had tried it but it didn't work (yet).
Modding the bootloader and including a bootmenu is probably pretty tricky and time consuming.
I don't really see a reason for dual boot anyways, you cannt use the same data folder on combinations like Stock/CM9. The amount of time to make dualboot happen on the 2x is better spent on other things, in my opinion.

MicroSD necessary

Hi there guys, I'm a newbie and I'm Italian. I've noticed in the most ROM's guides is required the MicroSD to install ROMS, but is it really necessary? Can't I install the flash ROM putting the files on the internal storage?

You mean stock rom or custom roms?
For custom roms, you need ext sd as it is required when you root the phone(stock recovery can only read ext sd card)..

It's not that expensive a 2Gb SD card to justify trying other options. And you need especially for backup and restore in case something goes wrong.
Here, in my country (Romania) cost somewhere within 5 EUROs so ... I just buy an 32Gb SD Card with 28 euros
Well, I'll buy an SD... I guess. Thanks guys!
no it´s not. if you have kernel with cwm you can flash via internal ext-sd
Yea, but to get a kernel with CWM you have to be rooted, and you need the external SD to root the phone.
Another question: which ROM would you suggest to an user who comes into modding's world for the first time? I bought my first smartphone, Galaxy S Advance, last week and I'm looking for a "smooth" ROM, without Samsung's crapware or Google (ChatON, Google Talk, Gmail etc.).
I hope I made myself clear!

Most of them had useless apps taken out but they're made according to the dev's taste. So try them and see which one suits you best. Read the OP of the thread of the roms to get better info.
Hope this helps.

They're so cheap in your region. In Vrancea a MicroSd card costs like 200 lei(~45 euro)
ON TOPIC:You can use internal storage for custom roms.
I bought it from the emag website with 149 RON because I wanted class 10, but find class 4 with 114 lei (25 euros) or class 6 for 119 RON all with included adapter.
I'm having a look at the Hybrid ROM, I like it! What do you think?:good:

No, you dont loose your data.
Follow Shaaan guide, in the devs area to root your phone.
This guide doesn't go well? But I want to erase all data, Samsung crapware included.
