Dragon 3.2 w/ a fix that seems to work for setCPU screen off profiles setting the CPU to low values. Please note: The max freq in setCPU for that profile is what will be used, no scaling. I set it to 200Mhz and it's working fine every time I fire it back up.
The original patch is from here: https://review.source.android.com//#change,20804
Created by coolbho3k for the Nexus S, I backported it to Froyo. If we get good test reports from others, I'll push the changes to github tomorrow so other devs can use it.
When testing, please either use known good OC/UV settings, or don't OC/UV at all. Phantom OC/UV crashes won't help us know if this is working well for others. I've tested it with and without, turning my phone on/off like a madman... working fine so far.
Hmmm... early reports aren't looking good. Perhaps something isn't quite right. lol... Be warned if you try it, read all the comments. Might have to declare this one a fail. Too bad the NS cpu-freq driver is so different.. maybe I'll try pulling the whole thing over..
Downloading now report back tomorrow! This sounds promising.

Will test as soon as i get mine back to stock! Its just what I felt like doing today.
I did have a question..
Do we need to adjust it to say.. performance,on demand powersave? or will it just default?
just flashed it on my phone its been running warm hot even then after about 10 15mins of running it reboots

ya i know an its not even o/c its set to only max at 800mhz lol i think im gonna reflash to 3.2 to be safe but its a step in the right direction good try
Ok Im gunna have to try and install setcpu first.. otherwise my phone loads and restarts a few minutes into being on the desktop.
Testing now, Just UV'ed my clocks, and now setting profiles.
Observation so far:
SetCPU, and Uvolting seems to lock up my phone, and cause a reboot, and phone is pretty warm/hot.
Confirmed I can not run this either.
Couldn't use it. Phone would shut off as soon as scanning started. Kept happening everytime I tried to start phone :¬( going back to 3.2 has been stable at 1.4 ghz.

Im having better luck using profiles with 3.2 than with this one. I've been using set cpu since 3.2 came out with no problems @1.4 and on powersave when screen is off. I have made no changes to the UV settings.
yikes ! i smell quadrant score in few min lemme install it
Has anyone got a "kernel panic" on this before? I'm not sure what I could have done wrong.. had to Odin back to stock. Forgot to back up before I flashed, shame on me. lol.
kernel panic wipes your data ? everytime kernel panicked on me i just restarted =D

Nah, it didn't wipe my data. I had to Odin back to stock because I couldn't go into Clockwork Mod Recovery Mode. It would go into Kernel Panic and it reset all my launcher settings....
Was running hot for me also. Back to stock and then to bionix .
I think that when you get things fine tuned you will have a great Kernal.
i was running dark core 1.0 which came with darky's 9.5.
i flashed the latest dark core 1.4, and now it shows SAMSUNG SGH-I978 or something at startup, and the phone auto-rotates sideways!
i restored a very recent nandroid, which didnt sort out the problem??

Wtf? The back key is meant to take you to the homescreen isn't it? That's a bit like saying my front door is broken because when I slam it behind me I can't open it again without a key

Yup, install Speedmod, Darkcore1 or whatever compatible. That should sort the problem out.

I think the I978 is a US variant of SGS. You may have flashed wrong kernel. Did you download the I9000 version??
Did you download the captivate version of the kernel by mistake? Check the file name of the zip file. Does it have a letter C at the end?

come on man. the back key takes you to the higher order submenu, til you get to home. Goto settings, about phone, and hit the back key. or goto contacts go into a contact and hit the back key.
@Everyone else
I installed speedmod, and it all went back to normal. I'm noticing that battery life is draining faster than yestreday, which might be the result of the new modem i flashed last night, and might be speedmod.
A lot of people are saying a lot of different things... what do you guys reckon the best combo for battery life is? Dark core 1.0 with lagfixes off? speedmod with lagfix off? I'm using darky 9.5.
And i'm busy resetting battery stats, so i can turn on my phone to check the file name... must have been a US varient.

I use Darky 9.5 as you with Darky Core kernel v1.4 lagfix on originally, and I get about 2-3 days of battery, depending on the level of usage .

i flashed dark core last night, and it totally screwed up my phone... had to flash speedmod to stop the screen turning sideways and the softkeys malfunctioning...
Which dev /rom has most problems helps /broke my phone posts and which dev/rom gives the most help to users with problems is always the first question i ask .Or not as the case may be .

Hey I hope one of you guys can help me.
I have a galaxy s running cm10 and I have had this persistent problem with my phone turning off automatically.
When I use it, I press the side button to turn off the screen and it is fine for a minute or so, but if I leave it any longer than that it turns off.
I have heard of something called Deep Sleep, is this the problem?
Is there a way to change how long it has to be locked to go into deep sleep?
Please help
I am losing hope
Cheers

Sounds interesting i know this from the first custom roms i tried a year ago!
Which build of cm10 are you using? Any "faulty" app installed? for me dropbox made cm10 instable and laggy, so i stopped using it.
Have you checked the md5-sum of the .zip file of your downloaded rom? Maybe the download was faulty... Happened to me twice on cm-nightlies.
Cheers
EDIT: Which kernel are you using? For me Stock-Kernel ist aboslutely rocksolid! My phone had 140 hours ontime this morning, before i flashed the newest build.
Hi,
Is you IMEI ok ? I had this problem with CM10 too but now my IMEI is ok I have no pb at all
have you overclocked your phone? i had the same thing happening with other roms...as soon as i had overclocked and turned the screen off, my phone got stuck after a while. try cleaning nstools settings. if that doesn't work, you might try turning off deep idle if it's active, could also be the reason

That would help.

Okay, let's start from the beginning :silly:
Whats the exact name of the rom you flashed?
How do you flashed it? (Wipe, etc.)
Have you flashed any other stuff? (Inverted Gapps, Battery mod, Kernel, etc.)
Have you many apps installed?
If i where you, i would flash the newest build with a full wipe, so you got a new, bugfree and stable system
same issue
I have been having the same issue ever since switching to CM10, I have been installing nightlies hoping it will end, but appears to be isolated. Would it help to manually flash boot for each ROM? It cuts off randomly and won't turn on unless charged by a wall charger, or other high-power input (doesn't turn on or charge from car outlet). It doesn't appear to be caused by an app.
Did you wipe when installing nightlies?
If you try to go stock with Odin, and the issue is exactly the same, I think you should consider it could be battery malfunction.

Hi, I have a problem with my O2x. Every night when my phone is charging, it freeze and the alarm don't work.. And every day I late at high school. Last night my phone was fully charged so I don't need to charge it, but yet my phone freeze and the alarm don't work again..
Why this happen?
My rom is Wiui 2.1.0.7 and i use the symbi0sis kernel. It is happen because I use the ramhack?
Thank you and sorry for my bad english.
I have the same problem too, i think it is a bug in the kernel. I have guestes2x 3.8 on my phone with the same kernel.

I like miui and i don't want to change it.. I'll try with another kernel to see if the problem persist.

You can try to set the phone to "Always active while charging" (not sure how the exact English translation is as I am using a German menu). You can find it in "Development options" in settings. I read in some other thread that this should help. Let me know if it works
I tried this but did not work.. now the only solution is to change the kernel.

You could also try setting the screen-off frequency a bit higher. I've heard that some phones have problems with the 216mhz frequency (if that's what you're using)
Or it's due to the ROM. I had issues with WIUI too, been on Temasek's CM7 build for ages now and haven't had a problem since then.
If you shut down your wifi, the problem is solved.
What i do is :
Add a alarm on 11 pm with a profile included.
In the profile you should set wifi off.
So your wifi is automatic shut down.
And by the alarm you must include a profile with wifi on, so you can get your mail etc.
It is very simple

Are you running the stock CM Kernel? If yes did you change the CPU frequency or the CPU governor?
I'm using this one http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2580112

Try with a different Kernel.
Also try the stock Kernel.
