Try, in cwm factory reset/wipe cache/wipe delvik/format system/format cache/format data data and flash 2.8 Essentials i9000 first then Base 2.8 (if bootloops pullout battery, put it back, enter recovery, reset, wipe, flash base again) and then Essentials again.

Unzip it and then push the file zImage to your phone with Heimdall while in download mode.
On command line, it's:
heimdall flash --kernel zImage
There's probably a way to do it in the GUI, too.

icy glitchy doesn't work good with cna download semaphore and flash through odin
that will get you out of a boot loop just dont flash glitch again devils is the one you want to go with
p.s i recommend reflashing the rom so you dont run into any trouble with semaphore
glitch is ment for cmp and the framework is soo different but you need to stick to somthing like devils because its built of glitch
i had the same problem with glitch on aokp and my sgs got bricked

Dude, download it http://ics.samsung-updates.com/trouble/FixRecovery.tar.md5 and flash it via odin at PDA , than go to recovery and flash kernel again. And remember if u making a wipe at ics base rom, flash again kernel, its normal..

Do u get any errors while flashing GB ROMs??
If could enter Boot animation , you can try
1. Enter recovery mode and "Wipe / Factory Reset "
2. "Wipe cache"
3. Reboot
after this it should boot up normally.
boot into download mode flash rom using pc odin

I downgraded from imilka's rom to KK1 like this:
Enter download.
Start PC Odin (DON'T CHANGE ANYTHING).
Connect phone.
Click the PDA button and select .tar file.
Click Start.
Flash finishes.
Phone reboots.
Plays startup animation.
Takes a long time.
Plays startup animation again (bootloop).
Enter recovery (Vol-up+Home+Power).
Wipe data/factory reset.
Wipe cache partition.
Reboot.
That worked for me.
If it doesn't work, you could try to flash imilka's 4.0.3 rom and do the above procedure.
Best of luck!

Download any of the directly rootable rom or the latest one as you prefer from this link and install through PC odin. Instructions given for flashing and rooting too !
link- http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1424997
Hit thanks if it helped
Edit : Also you can try to reflash the rocket rom after clearing the caches and formating/wiping the data again. After flashing again format wipe data and caches. It should work.
For recovery try flashing the cf root kernel by chainfire (its included in the rom....but just in case u require it to get back recovery if its not coming). either search for it or get it here - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=23787604&postcount=12

So I flashed the following rom this morning
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1953847
And I don't really like it. I am trying to flash CM9 over it but i can't!
I keep getting failed installations in CWM. I tried the same with BlackCNA and it didn't work either?
Doing a full wipe/factory reset doesn't seem to have any effect either, the phone boots into this ROM ALL the time. I haven't a clue as to what is going on. Can anyone please help! Thanks
