So I flashed the following rom this morning
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1953847
And I don't really like it. I am trying to flash CM9 over it but i can't!
I keep getting failed installations in CWM. I tried the same with BlackCNA and it didn't work either?
Doing a full wipe/factory reset doesn't seem to have any effect either, the phone boots into this ROM ALL the time. I haven't a clue as to what is going on. Can anyone please help! Thanks
Did you try to change the kernel and a full wipe ?

I dont think the kernels available are compatible for jb leak
I guess the rom file might be damaged..Try downloading the rom again and flash it

better install a Gb rom using Odin and do a factory reset from recovery. once the phone boots up, either root and get cwm to install CM9 o upgrade to ICS and root and install CM9

Try, in cwm factory reset/wipe cache/wipe delvik/format system/format cache/format data data and flash 2.8 Essentials i9000 first then Base 2.8 (if bootloops pullout battery, put it back, enter recovery, reset, wipe, flash base again) and then Essentials again.

Unzip it and then push the file zImage to your phone with Heimdall while in download mode.
On command line, it's:
heimdall flash --kernel zImage
There's probably a way to do it in the GUI, too.

For the moment, you don't need a root ROM, all you need is that your GNote can boot into download mode (hold vol- and power and home button [the button in the middle] for about 8 sec until the Samsung Galaxy Note logo shows up, then you could release the button)
You can download a stock GB from http://samfirmware.com/
I recommend a wipe version.
Then flash it using Odin PC (no increase of the binary counter because it's a stock ROM),
And then you can root it using any method you want (for gingerbread). Now you can flash any ROM you want by following OP's instructions

Go To Recovery And Wipe Cache/Dalvik And Reboot
Hey fellas,
So here's what I was trying to do...I was simply trying to revert back to a previous ROM that I had made a back up of. As I tried to load up the back up I got an error. Tried another back up...same thing. Tried to simply reboot my phone, stuck at the Samsung logo. I can get into recovery and I tried to use the USB mount to see if I could put a freshly downloaded ROM to try onto the phone, no dice (computer never saw the phone, best I can tell).
Am I screwed, or is this a simple matter of putting a ROM on through Odin to get me back on track? Any help is appreciated. Thanks.
what error? what rom where you on and we're you trying to do a nandroid restore?
odin is safe and can be done to revert to stock rom easily as a last resort but for now explain with details

Sorry for the lack of details, a delivery driver showed up as I was typing away.
I was on: PACman http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1999908
Tried restoring: TW Minitab http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1968561
as well as a back up of the ROM that's not to be mentioned here.
The error was a loading error, if I'm remembering right. I'll grab my phone and double check right away. And yes, Nandroid restore.
"Error while restoring /system!"
That's the error I'm receiving.
hmmm.. what does it say in the logs
go to advanced and show logs
I: Checking for extendedcommand...
I: Skipping exection of extendedcommand, file not found...
I: Can't partition unsafe device: /dev/block/mmcb1k1p1
I: Can't format unknown volume: /external_sd
Ok then flash the stock rom using odin and if ics, install a safe kernel and the flash any custom rom you want.

yes all in there. nothing very hard to too. download the rom. open odin, and select the rom in pda tab. put phone in download mode and connect to PC. Flash it. If you choose ics, do not wipe till you install a safe kernel.
you can install philz kernel as per the rom you installed and then wipe.

Flashing stock firmware with Odin will not delete your data from SD card. You will probably need to do factory reset, it will delete your contacts, sms, apps... But stuff from internal and external sd will remain there.
You bricked it because 4.4.2 uses preload partition for a swap, and it is partitioned in different way. And on PA 3.69 is probably different.
Or ROM zip of PA was corrupted.
thankyou and one more question

You can't brick phone with clearing cache. Did you wipe system partition? Try to install same ROM that you had (if you had).
Give us a screenshot of Odin fail. What exactly happen. And what is the full name of md5 that you put in pda of Odin. Try different version of Odin too.

ROM is fine. And you was on GB or JB before? If you was on GB then this problem you got is normal. You must be on JB (flash JB firmware) if you install JB ROM.
And again, if you get FAIL on Odin DO A SCREENSHOT AND POST IT HERE. To see what cause that fail. Left part of this screenshot is a log http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-gkWcapOu2...gingerbread+s5570jpq8+samsung+galaxy+Mini.jpg

And no, you must install Firmware not, not ROM. Because you probably installed JB ROM over GB. That is why you do not have working recovery.

Hello, i recently tried to flash the C-Rom on my gt n7000, but i keep getting the tmp/sideload/package.zip (status 7) error, now my phone is stuck in bootloop. i read that i need to flash a stock rom but my charging port has been damaged as such i cant connect the phone to my computer to use Odin. Is there a stock rom that can be flashed through recovery?

You came so far, its to late to turn back...
If only you had read the instructions...
Then you would know...
That you need a more recent version of your recovery...
Which is part of a kernel...
So flash raw kernel...
And then flash C-Rom...

To Flash ANY/ALL KK Based Roms (4.4+) you need base recovery 0f 6.0.4.4+. Can you still reboot to recovery? What rom vers are you previously on? Rooted? What recovery? If your charging port has been damaged, how are you gonna charge your phone? Get it repaired ASAP before doing anything else. Loss of battery during Rom flashing can make your phone a nice desk decoration.

Do you still remember your Stock Rom's Build number? If yes, then you can try downloading philz safe kernel with recovery that is compatible with your build number, flash it in cwm recovery, then reboot to RECOVERY, from there do a factory reset wipe, all formats (system, data, cache, preload) wipe dalvik cache (If you don't understand any of the terms I mentioned above, please go to philz page and read) and Flash a TW BASED custom rom first (you can find and download any rom as long as it's TW based). See if that boots.
Ultimately you WILL need that charging/USB Port fixed so please make that a TOP Priority

Ohh, , okay will do.
@annie22 you could also download any JB kernel (if you were on JB) of philz and flash it in recovery, reboot recovery, then flash Raw kernel r4 or r5 and reboot recovery and from there flash C-Rom or any other KK rom. You can use any philz kernel irrespective of the build number as long as you are using it only to flash another kernel and then rom of your choice. Make sure to download the .zip version of the philz kernel and put that and raw kernel and rom on external sd card. Keep back up of these kernels and roms on pc as well so that you can connect memory card to pc and transfer those files back to card, as it so happened that i while doing full wipe on philz kernel it also wiped my external card.

You should be able to flash raw kernel from just about any custom recovery. Just skip philz
