Just flashed it and now my phone comes up with Application com.android.lgsetupwizard stopped unexpectedly and just keeps popping up.
Any help would be appreciated.

Freeze the setup wizard with titanium back up. I've had it frozen for a while and have had no adverse effects. If it's frozen it can't crash on you

Sorry I just now noticed your post. I'm not really sure what to do about that cuz the files in the zip have nothing to do with the setup wizard, or any apps at all for that matter.

Happened to me, but not from hicks zip. It just started happening with random stuff. First the display settings then the wireless network setting. The only way to fix it that worked for me was to reflash your current ROM.

Not sure why it happened. Finally got around it and had to re-install Gingervolt since I pulled a NOOB move and didn't backup before I tried using your flash.

Froyo task manager keeps popping up

Wow. I had a huge thing typed and th damn task manager popped up and everything got deleted. Basically ive had 2 phones. I flashes then both with th same rom. This ones task manager keeps popping up sporadically. Its come up 7 times since starting this post. Im thinking i got a dud hardware. Can anyone verify this? I didnt have this problem with the other phone and ive flashed several roms on this one. All froyo roms do this. Also, when its locked it keeps flashing. Not the led, but the whole screen. Can anyone verify that its a dud phone? Thanks

[Q] Stock Contacts app force close

I've been running Revolt 1.5 since it came out with no problems. Until just a few moments ago I tried to add someone's number to my phone but the contacts app keeps force closing with error "android.process.acore stopped unexpectedly" same is true for editing as well. I haven't done anything to my phone and just a couple of days ago I was able to edit a contacts picture with no problems. I tried pulling battery, sim, sd card etc and reflashing 1.5 though it still force closes. I even tried to flash down to Revolt 1.4 with it still occurring. I'd prefer not to wipe data, but would something like this fix itself with the next version of Revolt which from the looks of things might be gingerbread based? Thanks
Hmmm... Checked and it happened to me too, and i have not had that problem before. Its been several weeks since ive made any changes in contacts so i can't pinpoint when the problem started.
Edit: Also, can't access the groups tab either and I too am running Revolt 1.5

Try reflashing the rom. Don't worry about wiping anything as the script will automatically wipe dalvik and cache. Just let me know if it works.
If it continues try to get me a logcat and I can look into it.

don't do that. just clear the cache of phone, contacts etc. just those relating to the contacts in settings.
Tried both methods, still force closes. I can get you a logcat tomorrow. Can you refresh my memory on how to do that. Thanks

I just tried on my phone running revolt and the revolted red theme. Edited a contact fine. Didn't try adding though. Just assume it works...

Sorry I couldn't get back to you guys immediately, I was having another problem where my phone would only charge when connected to my computer which has happened before and seems to correct itself. but anyway back on topic
@KaneofMars: yeah the same exact thing with me can't access groups, but can still view a contact.
@mt: the first thing I had done was reflash 1.5 with no avail and I had just today tried clearing the data from contacts and contact storage processes again resulting in force close.
I am fairly new with adb but I should be able to get a logcat tonight, I just don't know the command/syntax for it
Alright when in adb type
adb logcat > logcat.txt
After you enter that, do whatever action gives you the force close. After you hit the force close button close your cmd box.
That will give you a .txt file named logcat in the same file that adb if in. Zip it up and send it to me and I can take a look!

okay I've attached my log file. Let me know if there is anything else I can do that'll help solve this
Uninstall google+ and let me know if it fixes it.

ah, okay that would make sense, last thing I remember doing is trying out that leaked ICS Google+ 2.0 app. I'll need to try that however again I'm now plagued with a different problem. I'm sorry to be hounding for help in this thread, but this is the second time this has happened in class my phone reboots itself, gets to the boot loader animation and just hangs on a black screen with nothing happening, save for ever 3 seconds it feels like one of the haptic buttons has been pressed, when pressing them does nothing. I "solved" this last time I think on Revolt 1.4 by deleting data as I can still access Clockwork. But prior to resorting to that I'd tried flashing back to decrapped and no go. Is this the bricking to fastboot mentioned in that other thread? I could swear someone has posted this problem before I just don't know what to call it to search by. Sorry again for the lengthy post and all the trouble
EDIT: Looking through my files I noticed I'd made a backup using clockwork prior to flashing revolt 1.5. if I were to say wipe my data and then flash that back up, would I still retain my data, accounts & sync, etc? and then just reflash 1.5 again from there?
EDIT 2: I was able to do as I mentioned in my previous edit and I'm back to where I was and Contacts are working again. Many thanks MT. I wish I could have given you a logcat of the situation before being that this has been the second time that has happened.

Does it happen for all of your apps?
Try reflashing the ROM and wipe data and cache, but be sure to backup before you do
Edit : If the problem still happen after reflashing, you might want to consider getting a different rom

built in restore point?

So im uninstalling crap via titanium backup, and i get to watch. I remove it, phone reboots instantly, and now all the crap i got rid of is back again. What the hell happened?

Try freezing instead of uninstalling and see if same thing happens.
Has to do with the write protection on /system. Need the wp mod port to stop this from happening.

oops.

I need some help guys. Does any one have the com.lgsystemservice apk? I was removing some bloat ware and I accidentally removed this last night. My phone is not properly so if only one could help me with this I would be very greatful. For example when texting or just trying to type something it laying very bad or won't work at all. Thank you.
P.s. I tried searching for apk file my self and no luck.
I don't even see that in my system apps.
Sent from my LG-D959 using Xparent Skyblue Tapatalk 2
First off which variant do you have? Second I only see com.lgesystemservice.core.jar and com.lgesystemservice.core.odex which are part of the framework on the T-Mobile D959 variant.
Thank you for your relies, i have d959. The only thing that is not right is the keyboard. There is a terrible lag when comes texting. Other than thatthe phone seems to be working.
And the led light is flashing from green to blue
Please proofread your posts. I also have the d959 i dont find it in titatium. How where you deleting the bloat?

I used nobloat free
ok i am home now... before i was using my damaged g flex lol.
ok ill explain again but this time ill be more clear.
i am on tmobile and phone is D959
last night i was trying to delete some bloat ware using nobloat free from the market. i must have deleted something i should have because i was getting a pop up saying "unfortunately, com.lge.systemservice has stopped" i would tap ok and it would pop up again over and over again and i couldnt do anything so i had to force shut down the phone by holding the power button for about 10secs. once it powered on it poped up again but this time it was just once. after that i thought the phone was working correclty until i needed to send a text message, i saw that when i went to text a word there was a bad lag before the letter showed up. it seems that that is the worst thing that is wrong with the phone. i also notice that there is a lag when it comes to changing the volume setting from silent to vibrate to ringer.
i am woundering if i unroot and do a factory reset if that will fix my problem or if there is a way to download the stock rom so i can go back to stock if that makes sense.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2644083
Follow this guide. You'll be fixed right up and even keep all your data. This will restore your phone to stock, then reroot and try again. I suggest freezing apps n the future so all you would need is to unfreeze if you mess up.
Sent from my LG-D959 using Tapatalk
Thank you bro, I will try me best to do this lol. I just gotta ask because everyone is telling me to do this but to do a factory reset. I think if I do this it won't fix the problem. But can someone just tell me what it would do. Thanks.
