NOTE:
This is a KANG build of AOKP for p990 and by NO means this is my ROM. I am just compiling from AOKP Source and 100% credits goes to AOKP Team and all other coders who contributed to AOKP.
This is similar to a Kang from CM but has some extra goodies baked in. If you can't handle some things possible being broken, please don't use this and then complain to me for building it.
To ROM Cookers,
Please don't use this KANG as your base ROM without permissions

some of you with other devices then the LG optimus 2x may know that Android Open Kang Project or in short AOKP released their Milestone 4 (M4) ROM
AOKP is a bit like CyanogenMod they modify AOSP from google implent their own settings and goodies it is bassically just Android but then with a ****load of settings and customizations
Whitehawx a awesome developer from the G2X made a tree for the G2X
so i was thinking why not build one for the O2X
so here you go AOKP for the optimus!
more info can be found HERE on the AOKP website
have fun with it
oh and ofc like in cm9 kang patched services.jar is included

Flags:
Code:
-uv : enable undervolt - remove it if you have issues
-log : enable log removal
-jrnl : enable ext4 journal removal and 'risky' mount options - remove it if you have issues
-align : enable zipalign at boot (GB only)

i advice the 48 mb ramhack (breaks nothing just like the 32mb version) using this flags:
ironkrnL48_ICS-2012xxxxhxxxx-uv-jrnl-log.zip
or if you don want the boot animation made by setiron:
ironkrnL48_ICS-2012xxxxhxxxx-uv-jrnl-log-anim.zip
and if your phone don't like undervolting:
ironkrnL48_ICS-2012xxxxhxxxx-jrnl-log.zip
ironkrnL48_ICS-2012xxxxhxxxx-jrnl-log-anim.zip
if you use baseband 0824 or 1120 (su660 basebands) you will need a nitz fix for automatic time
you can just flash this zip (thanks pasttime!) http://www.mediafire.com/?r5b82glm39s4hj4
or you can flash ironkrnl with this flag "-nitz"
or you can disable automatic time
the choice is yours

lucky me this one doesn't need that much attention as the Kang ROM
this is just a clean build once in a week i will do it i think
and ICS kang is a lot more work with cherry picking changing source codes
Never heard of them but good to see it. Bugs same as CM9?

I almost never wipe to be honest I only advise that hehe
When I was on gingerbread cm I never wiped between flashes
When I first flashed ics by benee I wiped but only because I was coming from cm7
And from that moment I never wiped again and now still on ics so no need to wipe between flashes ^^
It is better if you do but I hate it
But I make a nandroid every night so if something goes wrong I still can recover all my data

Cyanogenmod nightly builds for the LG Thrill 4G (p925) have now been released.
CyanogenMod (pronounced sigh-AN-oh-jen-mod), is a customized, aftermarket firmware distribution for several Android devices. Based on the Android Open Source Project, CyanogenMod is designed to increase performance and reliability over Android-based ROMs released by vendors and carriers such as Google, T-Mobile, HTC, etc. CyanogenMod also offers a variety of features & enhancements that are not currently found in these versions of Android.
For more information about Cyanogenmod:
http://www.cyanogenmod.com/about
Nightly build ROMs can be found here:
http://download.cyanogenmod.com/?device=p925
Changelog can be found here:
http://cm-nightlies.appspot.com/?device=p925
INSTRUCTIONS:
Root your device.
Install Clockworkmod
Create a nandroid backup of your current ROM in Clockworkmod (either using the ROM Manager app, or turning off the phone and restarting into the Clockworkmod recovery (hold power+down volume+3D button, release the power button once the device turns on while still holding the down volume+3D until the main Clockworkmod screen appears) and selecting backup.
Install the latest Nightly.
Reboot.
If you're currently using a stock rom or a custom rom that is not based on Cyanogenmod then you must make a factory reset/format data in Clockworkmod after installing the latest nightly or else you'll get stuck in a bootloop.
I know this has been posted before, but the links in the referring web page was slightly wrong. Most of this information comes from this post:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1423820
Thank you to all the other developers and members who worked to make rooting, installing Clockworkmod, and custom ROMs easy for the LG Thrill 4G. AT&T should pay you because your work may not make me regret buying a LG product on AT&T. So far I have been very happy with Cyanogenmod.

You will lose 3D due to the fact that the framework that LG uses for 3D is their own software and it is not compatible with Open Source.

Hi Guys,
First of all I am not a real DEV. I see things, read things and learn from it. That's all.
I have patched Palao's kernel for my use on ICS ROM. Some guys can use it so thought to share with you.
I have not created this Kernel from scratch so haven't changed it's name. Giving full respect to it's DEV.
Change LOG:

HTML:
Fixed WI-FI
Fixed Random Reboot
Few scripts for ROM stability

You cant actually call this ICS Kernel...
The one which lupohirp will release with his next ICS Beta will be considered as an ICS Kernel due to backporting of many drivers to make ICS more stable...

The backport of Kgsl driver will be hard. I don't think that we just clone the free xperia kernel source then get the patch and patch our kernel source... we still need to modify, beside , the power manager is broken...
Guys you are going high. I haven't said that this is my kernel. I even haven't changed it's name. So just stop pissing someone. I patched it for my use. It's working great for me.For the ICS name, It's for ICS ROM that's why ICS kernel.
If you want go ahead and download if not then don't. keep everything very simple.

I see lots on folks using Temasek's Kang . Could we have reviews ,screen shots & videos of this Kang , highlighting differences between TK and CWM . Temasek has listed out detailed release changes on his thread . But a high level feature list would be useful for folks starting on a Kang diet . ( Me included)
Also can I install Temasek's Kang on top of CM 204 nightly ( without deleting data).
Yes u can install latest kang over nightly 204.
For a detail list, you need to read my changelogs. I do keep a long list of different builds changelogs. Some changelogs have pictures of major features.
Highest downloads of my kang was around 2500 +++. So basically that perhaps the number of users using kangs.
Just flash it over 204. ICS rotation animation alone is cool enough to give you the reason to use it

No - you should see them when opening/closing apps etc. Not that spectacular.
But the ICS rotation animation is great - you'll see it when switching to landscape/portrait mode - in older days the screen would just "update" - now it has a nice turning animation.
Maybe i'm just used to it by now - being on this awesome KANG
Stupid question, well I'm new O2X user .. I'm now using CM7 and want to try Kang 63. Do I need to flash stock ROM first? or just flash the Kang (using CWM)?
Any help would be appreciated Thanks!
Just flash it over your older CM7 no return to stock needed.
So, is this finally the most stable and valuable rom available? Already tried some, but they always had some problems with stability, speed and/or battery.

The latest CM7 Temasek KANG is really stable. So, don't worry about that
It really is good! Stable as stone.
I flashed my wife's o2x with this rom 4 days ago, so far no complaint from her and she really impressed with the smoothness of the UI and camera function.

Ahh really stable indeed (for now), thanks for the tips!
The only thing I find annoying, is the (little bit) stutter scrolling... I actually had this problem with all the cyanogenmods. Am I doing something wrong crucially? :S I am using the default kernels coming with the roms, ril/baseband 725 (which shouldn't be the cause I think?) and I am not doing strange customizations... Also tried all the 4 scrolling-cache options but doesn't matter.
Someone knows what I am doing wrong? Or is it just me and my perfectionistic eyes who need 60 fps animations?
Thanks!

Hi pengus77, sorry if you feel it inconvenient. This guy minhhang129 only compiled a version - which serves as temp because since CM team upgrade to CM10.1 , the wkpark kernel seemed not work anymore.
This guy's english is no as good, and so is mine. And I actually am a casual user who dont know about technical matters, things about github and fixes prove too much for me - thats why this version only works like a waiting version for SU660 user who really want a working kernel (though with some acceptable bugs) for old bootloader CM10.1 Nightly and only so
We are looking forward to hearing from your kernel for SU660 and thank you.
P/S: I have changed the name

First, unless someone can get that guy 'minhhang129' to work with Pengus77, we won't be enjoying this kernel's full feature (it comes with OC but not really working)
Second, why is it only for CM10.1? :/
I'm not really fond of using that ROM so I think I will just stick to using PA + wkpark's kernel
last, just want to thank Pengus77 for his concern and I blame TS for the misspelled Kowalski hahah

This kernel allow OC actually, I am using max processor freq at 1200 which you can max it at 1456. It's a pity but as I said minhhang's english is not so good and I only know him online so cant work out. Can I ask you one thing: is paranoid good??? I really want to try it , hehe, but does everything work right now? eg. video decoder etc
Trying the PA 2.5. it boots forever
Can you show me how to install PA, it seems goods
yup, it's very smoooooth!
I'm currently on build4 and never had issue, video playback is fine too(I'm using MX Player), games are all working well too.

I've just tried it and see a lot of potential in there, especially the nav - bar. Very cool. But version 2.3 is without project butter I think. I am using CM10.1 for long and when use 2.3 version I still see version 2.3 not as smooth as cm10.1 nightly. Maybe just my feeling. I just back off to CM10.1
If pengus77 can build a version of his famous kernel for SU660 which can run PA 2.6 - I think I will stick with this Paranoid Android - It's very cool
Tks anyway and pray for a new kernel for PA 2.6
you can use wkpark's fix and kernel for PA 2.6 too.
just download PA ROM 2.6 (whichever build u like) then rename it to 'cm-10-20130106-NIGHTLY-p990'
someone can make a kernel for the new bootloader??

First of all, many thanks to Kasper_h for all your work.
This is a mod of Mackay's Kernel 3.0, designed to work with the offical CM10 stable. I've seen various posts about CM not working, so I put this mod togther to get a fully working CM10 based ROM based on the offical CM10 stable.
The advantages of CM10 over CM10.1
Video recording works
Skype Video Calling works
Barcode Scanning apps work
Burst mode camera apps work
Apps2SD works
Bluetooth File transfer (send/receive) works
GPS works
The disadvantages of CM10 over CM10.1
Code base is obsolete, so no more fixes/updates/features etc
Feels slightly less fluid/responsive than Mackays Rom
Feels slightly less stable than Mackays Rom
This has the standard CM10 ramdisk, modified to include Kasper_h's GPS Fix, along with Mackay's Kernel 3.0 zimage (unmodified).
See Kasper_H's original thread here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2153164
Kasper_h's kernel source here: https://github.com/kasperhettinga/lge-kernel-sniper
Get the CM10 stable from here: http://get.cm/?device=p970
Get the Google apps for 4.1.x from here: http://goo.im/gapps
How to Install
1. Reboot to recovery
2. Wipe data/factory reset
3. Install CM10 stable
4. Install Gapps for 4.1.x
5. Install P970-MackayKernel-3.0-Mod-for-CM10-GPS-Fix (attached to this post)
6. Reboot
Issues
1. In about phone, kernel version is shown as unavailable, but shows correctly in CPUSpy
2. If you enable Kernel Same Page Merging (in settings/Performance/Memory) it will cause occasional reboots/screen locks.
3. Very occasional vibration lock, lasting 30-40 seconds, so just wait if that happens. To avoid, disable Vibrate on Touch in settings/sound
4. Video recording with the CM10 camera crashes (still photo and gallery is fine), download Ucam Ultra https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ucamera.ucam&hl=en for issue free video recording
Enjoy
Edit: Updated Mackay Kernel to 3.1
Edited 26/8/13: Updated Mackay Kernel to 3.2
Edited 28/10/13: Uploaded Mackey Kernel 1.9, which seems to fix the random rebooting bug, vibration bug and fixes a couple of games that didn't work on the 3.2 Kernel
It's not working on CM10.1? Could be fixed in that case?
Thanks for your work.

Use Mackay ROM, it has this kernel included, or get the kernel from Mackay's thread. It will work with CM10.1.
The kernel in this thread has been modified for CM10.
Kernel 3.1 came out with fixes on vsync.Saves battery and improving performance

Currenty testing 3.1 at the moment, as long as I don't find any serious issues, I'll upload it tomorrow.
Edit: Updated to Mackay Kernel 3.1, see attachment in first post.

Do you mean did I ask kasper_h for permission before doing this mod? Then the answer is no. Kasper_h has stated in the mackay thread he would not do a CM10 version, because of this I considered it would be ok provided it was fully credited to him, which I have done.
If kasper_h is unhappy with this mod for any reason, I'll take it down at once.

Let me answer this one myself, easiest I guess
As I have said in my own thread, I am perfectly happy with people using my work. That is what opensource is about: people improving each-others work And as said in the quoted post, I also said that I will not work on a CM10 version of the kernel, but that I am happy to support others who want to port the kernel to CM10.

Firstly, KSM works, but the bug might cause occasional reboots (maybe once per day)
Secondly, although Kernel Samepage Merging helps reduce ram usage, the effect is not that dramatic.
If you having memory problems, try the following:
1. Disable JIT. No noticable performance drop and each running process uses a few less mb's of ram. With lots of running apps, this adds up. To disable JIT, add the following line to your build.prop:
Code:
dalvik.vm.execution-mode=int:fast
2. Install Greenify https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.oasisfeng.greenify&hl=en and hibernate apps that run in the background.
3. Install a 200mb swap file on the system partition (much faster than the sd card). You'll be able to load virtally any game/large app. Download Turbo Boost http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2145133 and extract it on your pc. For a 200mb swap on system copy the file from TURBO BOOST MOD v3.02-AROMA\swap\system\200\etc\init.d\98swap_system_v300 and put it in /etc/init.d on your phone, then reboot. The swap file is created automatically.
4. Install V6 Supercharger http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=991276
Version 3.1 doesn't boot for me, while 3.0 does just fine.
