Anyone else having wifi issues with the latest build? It appears that wifi is erratic on auto or 2.4 GHz. But if I put it on 5 GHz it works fine. I have a Cisco e4200v2 router. If I go back to stock it works fine on any setting.

So far so good for me. I haven't noticed any issues yet as far as Wi-Fi is concerned.
No issue on G bands, i don't have N bands.

Figured it out
Problem is that I live in a condo and 2.4 GHz is a cluster f*$*. I split 2.4 and 5 GHz on the router and connected to 5 GHz and everything is fine now. While my computers and other devices were doing good auto selecting 5 GHz, my Galaxy Nexus and Galaxy Tab running CM9 were using 2.4 over 5.

Since upgrading to 1.2 I have noticed that the annoying connection failure when waking up the unit is gone. I rooted at the same time so it may be due to that, but I am happy to not have to re-establish a connection after letting the NC sit.
Have others noticed this change?

I have found the same. It has been flawless since the 1.2 upgrade. Really happy to not have to toggle the wifi all the time.

Hello,
i can't find my wifi network after i switched to 5GHz. I can find it on all my other devices (tab 10.1, iphone 4s, macbook pro, my desktop etc).
I'm using the cm9 nova rom if that changes anything and i can find other networks around me.
Does anyone know how i can fix this? Thank you in advance.

From AnandTech's review:
Though the BCM4329 has 5 GHz support, the 2X lacks the radio hardware to enable it, and we only saw 2.4 GHz networks.

The Dual does not support the 5Ghz frequency!
Hey
I upgraded to 4.0.4 LRK recently and ive been finding that Wifi reception is pretty bad since this update.
Even when im sitting in the same room as the router im only getting 1 or 2 bars of Wifi reception whereas previously i would get full reception.
I also used to get strong Wifi reception upstairs in my house but now i get 1 bar at most and the phone regularly disconnects from Wifi.
Any solutions???

Are you still on Stock Kernel?
I've had issues with Wi-Fi on a couple of custom kernels previously..
However - I am running Stock ICS 4.0.4 (LRK) with SpeedMod K3-11 (link in my sig) and I have no issues with my Wi-Fi connectivity...
Im on speedmod 3-11 kernel as well. Im sitting literally 2 metres away from the router right now and i only have 2 bars of wifi reception.
Is there anything i can do to sort this issue?

well, I'm using LRG with speed mod 3-9.. no issues itself on wifi.
try using speed mod 9 bud and see also if you can wipe dalvik cache. You may also wanna try downloading wifi fixer in google play and see if it fixes your wifi connection.
Cheers!
Bro the 4.0.4 versions are really annoying me too....they are full of problem like wifi and battery drain...i tried alkost everything but these problem never gone....specially wifi is too bad

Hi All,
I am using galaxy note with ICS 4.0.4 and using Rocket Rom V12 currently. I am facing a strange issue in which wi-fi disconnects in regular interval. This interval is not fixed. Even while using internet, Wi-fi gets disconnected. I have checked wifi settings as well where in I have kept wi-fi to be always available.
Does anybody have idea of what could be the cause of this problem???
Thanks & Regards,
Neeraj Tati.
Try reconfiguring your wireless router to broadcast only 11b/g instead of 11b/g/n. This solved a similar issue I had, only it was on Rocket ROM v11. I suppose buying a new router could have also helped but I didn't feel like buying routers so I tried anything possible.

Glad to be of help, that issue drove me crazy and there were no useful suggestions anywhere on the net.
Also, I was thinking that another shrun solution could be to flash hydracore 4.3 which is used in v11 instead of notecore 14 which comes with RR v12.
So i have got one more alternative to get rid of this problem.
Ur previous one resolved d prob.. So will stick to that as of now.
Will try it in future if needed.
Well thanks again. Keep it up. Have a nice day.

The static ip on phone and dhcp on router is already present. Well thanks for suggesting. Changing from 11 b/g/n to 11b/g solved my prob.

Hi guys,
I've been reading up on some nexus 7 stuff but I'm pretty new to it and was running 4.1.2 until recently, I see 4.2.2 was released but couldn't see any concrete feedback on how it compares to say custom roms like smoothrom based on 4.2.1. Do you guys find it better than say smooth rom in UI performance and battery? I'm not sure if I should change to 4.2.2 or stick with 4.2.1 custom roms with performance/smoothness tweaks for now.
Thanks
Smoother here.
I found my N7 sped up with 4.2.1 anyway when I cleared up some space. Havn't loaded it down since, so that may be the reason.
The main reason I want back to 4.1, was the broken Bluetooth Audio, but that also seems to be much improved in 4.2.
Will give rooted 4.2.2 stock a shot then, thanks
I've been on 4.2.2 for a few hours and I must say the wireless appears to be erratic! I'm sitting between 2 APs with same SSID so I don't know if the roaming settings are too aggresive...but seems worse than 4.2 was
I'm hoping Bluetooth is better than it was as my creative headset would constantly go out of sync on 4.2!

I'm running the latest Paranoid Android 4.2.2 nightly and it's running perfect. The Bluetooth works with the flashable zip fix just fine. I use my sixaxis controller with it and it's flawless. Benchmarks are about the same as before, but I don't really pay attention to them. I would recommend updating, I regret not doing it sooner.

I am actually noticing better WiFi performance with 4.2.2. I don't have to use better WiFi anymore, it switches seamlessly between my 2 routers with the same ssid. 4.2.2 made my nexus 7 run a lot smoother and faster, all around it was a good decision to upgrade.

Bluetooth was pretty much screwed on all devices by 4.2.x. I have a Nexus 7 and a HTC One XL, which I used to tether via bluetooth. This worked perfectly when both devices were on 4.1.2. Now the devices pair and the Nexus 7 claims to be using the One XL for internet connectivity, but it doesn't work and says network unreachable when I ping from terminal.
I never use bluetooth audio on my Nexus, but I do use it on my One XL. That's pretty much screwed since 4.2.x as well, with poor quality and crackling. There's a massive google bug report thread on it, which actually looks like I've not got it as bad as a lot of people!
Where do you find the flashable bluetooth fix? Is it just for Nexus 7?
cyanogenmod 10.1/ 4.2.2 my nexus 7 is now a lot smoother than on 4.2.1!

Hi there,
I use stock 4.2.2 with apex launcher and its the most fluent and rapid thing. Scrolling feels so good. I am new to nexus 7 and JB, but from what i have seen so far im loving it.
In terms of web browsing and performance in general its quite good. I had galaxy tab 2 7" before nexus and it just not match the smotherness and performance of the N7. Its impressive.

Aside from almost having a stroke every time I rotate the screen, specifically on the lockscreen, mine is doing just fine.

Funny, i never use landscape. Only for media play, or some games that come landed by default.
Apart of that, i always use it 'phone-wise'.
