Freeze home apk and deleted Go launcher, Cannot use the phone now - LG Optimus 2x

I have frozen home.apk and did a factory reset. so the debug mode is unticked and i have rooted my phone with cwm installed. I cant use my phone now cos i dun have a home.apk. Does anyone know what should i do? Help. Please.

Reflash it?

i dun actually know,
i know there are 2 methods, one is using kdz and the other is using Smartflash
can you tell me, thanks!

Oh! Ok! So... you said you had CWM installed. This means you can access it by keeping the power button + volume down pressed. Am I right? How did you install this CWM? Was it through ROM Manager? Did you perform a full backup of your system? Do you have any ROM's in your internal memory? Do you have an external SD card? (this is almost like a doctor's appointment! )

i have an external sd card
the original lg v20l is installed
cwm was installed before i made a factory rest
i can access cwm

Just push in another launcher with adb

If it was me I would put a custom ROM in the sd card, boot into CWM and flash it, since you haven't performed a full system back up.
Or, if you know how to use adb you can do as Herrhuk suggested.
However I strongly recommend that you perform a full system backup using CWM as soon as you have your phone working properly.

[Q] Flashing the Flux Capicator

So now that I lured you in with my snazzy thread title I will hit you with the boring stuff. Im just lost on all the ROM Flash OCLF Kernel Lingo. I want to go to Froyo and currently have 2.1 with Voodoo. There doesnt seem to be any SOLID thread that gives you simple instructions on what it does, how to do it, etc.
I read somewhere that if you have the Voodoo on the phone currently you have to flash back to the stock ROM. Other thread dont really touch on if you have to flash back or if you just do the upgrade.
Second, what is going to be lost in the process. Again I see some thread that say you have to do a Master Delete that will erase everything on the phone then some are not clear if you have to erase everything. If you do have to wipe it clean what are you guys using the back up all your apps? I did a backup with ROM Manager last night as well as a App Backup with Astro. But where do the backed up files go? Is it smart enough to drop them on the external SD card?
I hate to post such a general question but I am just getting overwhelmed reading 6 million different threads about different versions that do different things.
Disable voodoo by creating a folder in the voodoo directory "disable-lagfix" (without quotes), reboot (this will take a while). When that is fine download Titanium Backup and use that to backup all your apps + data. Copy the Titanium Backup folder to your external sd card. Backup all the data you want on your internal sd card. Flash back to stock and do a master clear (enable usb debugging first), root and install RM/CWM, copy over the rom you want to flash to the internal sd card (DO NOT RENAME). Power off the phone remove your sim card and sd card. Boot into CWM and flash your rom.
ps. Make sure your battery is fully charged.
Let me know if I missed anything. Swyping this before bio class.
Edit: Do NOT restore system data

What he said. Also if you are new to flashing I would advise looking into the cognition thread. It is definitely the easiest and most user friendly rom. And actually if you are coming from 2.1 all you should need to do is disable the lagfix by above named method, and one click to stock using odin. Also can be found in cognition thread somewhere. Then flash. I have never had to do a master clear. And have never had even a minor problem with either odin flashes or CWM. This just would save a little time but by all means if you wanna stay safe as can be do a master clear.
Thanks. I got the Cognition rom loaded up and is working well. Although It is missing swype which I miss.

Huh? All my Cognition versions had swype.
Swyping....read at your own risk
I second that, I have always had swype as well. I know this sounds obvious and I am sure you have already tried this but cog sets the default as android keyboard try switching the input by long pressing the input box.

Might have to go into settings, locale and text and enable it. Not sure, never used it, but I have to do that for smart keyboard. It's a thought.

[Q] Not able to root phone or get into recovery

I partitioned my SD card via ROM Manager yesterday to get more space for apps. I'd made a complete backup of the SD card before partitioning and put it on my PC. After the partitioning which went without probs I pasted everything back on the card. But I noticed that the ClockworkMod backups were not there. They were still on the PC but had not been transferred over, so I manually put them in the ClockworkMod folder.
But now I'm not able to go into recovery mode any more. The phone just gets stuck on the screen with an exclamation point icon. Holding power and volume up button to display the system recovery interface doesn't work either. The only solution is to pull the battery. The bootloader is unlocked.
Also, I've tried a few apps (z4root & Universal Androot) to root the phone without luck. I'd really like to root it to see if I can use RomManager to flash a recovery image.
I'm currently running on stock ROM version FRG83D but would prefer to go back to Cyanogen as I like the trackball wake, etc.
Please help me find a solution to this...

HELP!

Hi everyone, I had recently bought an SGS from Ebay, its an i9000. I had rooted and flashed Darkys ROM 10.2.2 extreme edition; everything was working fine.
However today after turning wifi on for the first time on this ROM the phone started randomly rebooting and would not stop doing so, attempted to take wifi off but on reboot it would be re-enabled.
ive attempted to get into recovery mode but it does not seem to want to, i can get into download mode so i can reflash via odin, but i would prefer to just restore via clockwork mod. any suggestions?
edit: i have now been able to get into recovery mode, however, i had previously backed up my external and internal sd cards to partition, after partitioning, i put them all back onto the external, and now clockwork mod tells me i cant restore as it cant find the backup folder :\ i cant keep the phone on long enough to mount the internal storage
any ideas?
You say you backed up your external and internal SD Cards to partition? This is a bit unclear for me, did you do a nandroid backup?
It's totally different than just copy pasting folders. If you DID just copy a backup of your phone via file manager or something then I don't think you'd ever be able to restore to that.
Best thing I can tell you to do now is reflash via ODIN... and remember to do a nandroid backup after.
You can't access the External SD while in CWM (as far as I know), so the only option you have left is to flash via Odin. Get used to it.
thanks for the replies problem solved. to clarify i had a nandroid back ip on my sd which i moved before partitioning, after partitioning i moved it to external sd and clockwork only checks internal sd

[Q] Sd card not mounted in recovery?

Attempting to install RocketRom, but my sd card is not mounted while in recovery. I am on Stock KJ4 right now, rooted, and ready to go. I went into recovery and wiped my cache to prepare for the backup and install, but when I try and do anything it can't find the sd card. Any suggestions?
Also, I have a couple other questions that I hope can be answered...
1. What is the hardware button combo to get into recovery on the Note? I have just been using Terminal Emulator.
2. Also, with Terminal Emulator, I have a problem with the keyboard not showing up after the first time I use it. Only an uninstall and reinstall will get it to show up once more. I have tried to toggle the keyboard, but that doesn't work.
Any questions that could be answered would be much appreciated! I really want this ROM installed. Thanks guys!
Anyone? Someone must know what is going on here...
yentlequible,
Recovery is VolUp+Home+Power to hold until being in recovery.

Thanks.
I still can't figure out why the sd card won't mount. Surely someone must know what is happening? Anyone?
UPDATE: It appears that it was just an error from my own stupidity once again. I was too used to my old phone, so I didn't see the option to choose zip from internal sd. I was just selecting the other one...

[Q] Splash loop

After installing Semaphore's ClockworkMod Recovery via Heimdall Suite my i9000 do not boot. It show the splash samsung-logo, than the screen switch to black an after 2-3 seconds the splash-logo will be showed.
I can turn on the Semaphore CWM Recovery and I could (I hope so) flash a new CyanogenMod or so BUT! But i need the data from my cellphone.
Questions:
It's possible to access in Semaphore CWM Recovery mode the data to copy them to PC via USB or to external SD-Card?
It's possible to make a backup to external SD-Card? How to mount the external card?
It's possible to flash a new zImage (like the original one) to boot normally? Where I can get this image? Heimdall works still properly.
What i can do to rescue my data.
Thank You,
MiniX1
don't worry, you won't loss anything on your sdcard when flashing new custom rom, but you will loss apps that you've already installed.

beating around the bush mate not wise to use nandroid backup as more work involved. , just use cwm to mount USB storage and you can copy the entire SD card contents to PC or whatever yu need or move to ext SD card.
