Hi guys,
I've tried to flash a new rom and now my phone doesnt start. When i power on the LG logo displays and i automatically enter the clockworkmod menĂ¼ with this message:
ClockworkMod Recovery v5.0.2.0
E: Cant mount /cache/recovery/command
E: Cant mount /cache/recovery/log
E: Cant open /cache/recovery/log
E: Cant mount /cache/recovery/last_log
E: Cant open /cache/recovery/last_log
I cant even get into the recovery mode.
Is there anything i can do? Ive tried to wipe the cache and everything a few times but had no success!
I hope you can help me!
Edit: I have tried the instructions from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1007825
And i got this error message at the end: http://s1.directupload.net/file/d/2833/czj32463_jpg.htm
Is my phone Dead? :-(
Edit Nr.2: Ok my Optimus got a second chance XD
I just changed the usb port. Used the fron one before. Its better to use one on the back side of the computer. The nvflash was sucessull. Startet Smartflash and flashed the official 20l.
Now everything is fine. Puh i realy thought this was the end XD

well. it was running on F1 SGSII V7. i had converted it to ext4. although it displayed all file systems in ext4, i got the msg that it is not working properly.
today i wanted to try out Cyanogenmod7.1. so i downloaded both cyanogenmod zip file and google apps file. went to CWMrecovery and took a backup. rebooted the phone to change filesystems to rfs. when i clicked ext4 to rfs , it booted to CWM and the phone restarted. so i checked the file systems and still it was ext4. i got confused and decided to install cyanogenmod either way.
so i got in to recovery and formated data, system and cache. and i also had the phone factory reset through CWM. next it displayed this.

when i open the phone in normal mode it stucks at galaxian kernel boot image.
i cant do anything through CWM. so i decided to test downloading mode. it worked. but when i plug the usb to my phone it says device not recognized. i have removed usb drivers ,restarted and again installed latest usb drivers. still its not been recognized. i used odin3 v1.82.
so could u experts tell me whether my phone is (soft/hard) bricked or not. and whether is recoverable or not. and what should i do at this point. thank you!
ps. i m newbie at this rooting flashing stuff.
Glad to see this much information in a post...
Its a soft brick but more complicated one...
Did you make a nandroid backup, can you use it? (i dont understand what you mean by you cant use CWM, can you not get into recovery, or nothing you do works?)
Before you plugged you phone in did you go into task manager and close all kies applications?
Have you truied another version of odin?
Have you tried another computer?
Those are both questions and suggestions
Btw next time if you confused about something dont do it, as something will go wrong like it did. Also always take a backup from recovery before you do anything to it.
Also you can try heimdall...
let us know how it goes
I have had same prob, its a soft brick. Don't worry. Do a ODIN flash to stock rom, then flash a custom kernel (as PDA) and u will be good to use CWM to restore ur backup. It worked fine for me (many times , I'm a flashaholic) .
Good luck
thank you both of you guys. odin worked in another pc.. thank you once again

E:Can't open /cache/recovery/command

E:Can't mount /cache/recovery/log
E:Can't open /cache/recovery/command
E:Can't mount /cache/recovery/last_log

Have you tried NVFlash?
Datasafe Disaster via NVFlash
hi, take a look in Optimus 2x Android Development. There is a thread written by Rusty called "DataSafe Disaster via NVFlash". It install a full clean MCW recovery, then you restore your backup.
Also you can use SmartFlash.

Does it reboot on going to recovery? If recovery is still accessible try clearing data, cache and dalvik.
Smart Flash Tool doesn't touch cache, userdata,nv,fota or lgdrm.
Try patching it with a different recovery.
i installed aroma file manager and deleted recovery folder which includes log and last_log files on cache
now it is ok.
i wiped cache and formatted too.
but it didnt deleted.
i deleted manually and problem solved
thnx
My goal was to install the ROM JB-4.1.2.
I've rooted my phone with flashtool, uncloked the bootloader also with flashtool and since then everything went great.Next step which wasn't hard at all was to flash the kernel via flashtool and it also happened with great result. The problem appeared when I was turning phone on, the system haven't turned up and my phone had showed only CWM Recovery.I knew that something went wrong but I made full wipe, cache and dalvik cache and installed JB-4.1.2. The CWM has said that system has been installed but when I've tried to boot phone JB didn't show up; again there was only CWM.
I've tried few times the procedure ( installing stock 2.1 android from Update Service, rooting phone with Flashtool, and flashing the kernel) but I'm facing the same problem with CWM.
Maybe I did something wrong, but don't know exactly what; or maybe my phone is not suitable for kernel?
I'm waiting for help!
Did you format the partitions before flashing the rom?
Yes, I did and nothing has changed.I again saw a screen with CWM and under options to choose at CWM I had a message from CWM like that:
E:Can't open /cache/recovery/log
E:Can't open /cache/recovery/log
E:Can't open /cache/recovery/last_log
E:Can't open /cache/recovery/last_log
Can anybody help with that odd problem?
First of all, hello.
My Moto G 2nd generation died suddenly. And i can't turn it on no way.. It's a XT1068 version.
I've read the forum and tried some things, but they're not working. I got into bootloader and recovery mode. And when i try to ""Wipe data/factory reset" or "Wipe cache partition" i get error messages, saying:
"E: Can't mount /cache/recovery/log
E: Can't open /cache/recovery/log
E: Can't mount /cache/recovery/last_install
E: Can't open /cache/recovery/last/install
E: Failed closing /dev/block/platform/ms_sdcc. 1/by-name/misc
(I/0 error)"
I don't know what to do already, i don't understand a lot of phones, and i've done nothing to it, this is the way the phone "came from fabric", so i did not touch a lot of things. And i wonder if anyone has a solution for this..
If i turn the phone on either the screen stays black, or a sign of "dead" android comes up saying "no commands" or the M of motorola start keeps loading forever.
ANY SOLUTION PLEASE? =( THANKS!
Seems like you need to flash a rom because yours isn't working.
1. Is your bootloader unlocked? If not then click here : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BLSTDsFG1xw (stop watching at like 4:40) just follow the instructions
2. Download: http://forum.xda-developers.com/mot...dows-tool-moto-g-2014-xt1064-restore-t2957167
3. This should restore your phone back to stock 4.4.4 and stock recovery.
Hope This helped!
(Not my fault if something goes wrong with your phone )

"came from fabric" so you got broken phone out of box? If so then just return it back.

Just restore it using mfastboot v2 with factory firmware image, it works fine...
Some days back I got same problem when I was trying to flash custom rom but couldn't flash because of these errors. so I restored it to 5.0.2 now it works as expected but I am unable to flash custom roms... what can be the solution for this. if anyone knows... tia
