[Q]-Application requires newer SDK version error - TouchPad Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I tried searching around for this error but there's really only one other thread on it. When I try to update some apps tonight like YouTube and Flash 11 from the google play market, I get this error. Has anybody seen it or know of a fix for it?

This seems to happen because market thinks you're running ics. Are you running cm7?
Try opening market, waiting a while and updating the apps manually

XRON/CM7. It should be ICS.

I actually didn't upgrade market this way but it got updated on it's own but reverted back to original market because it wouldn't let me upgrade or download new apps it would say it download it but it would never install them. So for now I'll be sticking to the old market. In case you want the old market pull it from stock rom or a rom like plainjane and then replace it and delete the market updater this will let you keep the market without it getting updated.

Did you try restarting after installing the new market? I was having trouble with it as well, but after a restart it was able to download and install apps again.

I noticed that too; I think it automatically flags all Google apps for auto-update.

I'm on xtrRom 4.6. I downloaded the file and it works great! The only problem is that I can't get my downloads to show up when I try to access them in the market. I have already tried a reboot. Does anyone have any other suggestions?
Thanks,

I guess that there are no other ideas. Can anyone describe the steps to take in order to get the regular market back?

Did you download Google apps to.go with Cyanogen? They are both seperate packages that have to be flashed one by one.

Google Play Store Error

Im running Nik's Project X V_1. I managed to install 2 apps from the play store. After that the blue download bar is stuck at "Waiting for Network".
I tried:
-Clearing cache of GP and Download Manager
-Factory Reset and clearing Cache through recovery
-Re-installed the ROM(Managed to install around 2 apps before the problem occurred again)
Any one else having this problem??

Update to the latest jelly bean play store. Find it from the apps section in either incredible s or general android. That should solve your issues.

Actually this issue is with the new version of GP. 3.7.13 . But when i uninstalled updates and downgraded to 3.5.19 it is updating fine. Anyway HOW to stop the play store from auto-updating to 3.7.13 until i find some permanent solution to this problem??
Ahh I had issues with old and updating worked for me lol. Ahh well least its fixed.

Sorry, I forgot to add the 'HOW' .. Hehe now my question makes sense.
Not sure if this will help but I read somewhere in another forum that freezing market updates in titanium backup may solve auto market updates. You may also need titanium pro.http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1751769

In v2 people reported errors with GP. There was a problem with detecting IncS. Instead it was One S or rather.
If you havn't already, you could flash the patch they have for v2.
If it doesn't work.upgrade to v2 w/patch

Google Now crashing

Does anyone else with a ROM that supports Google Now (Android 4.1+) been running into problems ever since the last update (Dec 13) to the Google Search app?
For me, whenever I try to open the app, it instantly force closes without showing any error messages.
The only thing I've found online is from here: http://code.google.com/p/android/is... 2&colspec=ID Type Status Owner Summary Stars
Take any device built around a Tegra 2 SoC (AP20H or T20, it appears to not matter), install any ROM based on 4.1 or later. Install Google Apps, and update Google Search to the latest, via Play Store. Then try to open a Search, or Google Now.
So far the crash has been reproduced on a Samsung Captivate Glide, a Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1, and an Acer Iconia Tab A100. All were running some version of CyanogenMod, if it matters.

Try partitioning your phone to 512MB. I had the same problem but this solved it. There is a tool in the development sections that lets you do this quite easily.

Have you done any mods to your CM10 install?
Maybe I just need to update to the latest nightly (I'm hesitant because I'm scared of running into the call audio bug).

try sign out and in again in your google account
if i help hit thanks :fingers-crossed:
Or remove the add the account(s) again...
Or clear cache on google play store, somethings got to work. I had the issue where it would update any of my apps after I updated google play. Researched the error and found I had to delete the cache off of some apps, re-add my google account and it started working again. Alot of errors people have, are already reported to google.

A friend of mine couldnt update or install any app. It was only solved by doing a full wipe to the tablet.
