[Q] superuser and cwm - Galaxy Note GT-N7000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

after root my phone the superuser and cwm not show on my phone.anyone know why does this happen?

Your phone is not rooted if it has no SU and no CWM.

Download titanium backup from store to see whether it works.

which Method did you used to root ? I suggest that you use CF-Root with InitialCFRootFlasher follow the steps in this post you will not encounter any of binary counted and yellow triangle. I am ready for farther help if needed.

Which ROM you have installed on note?

[Q] I dont see the Superuser app

I recently update to Criskelo's ICS V2 LP6 in my galaxy note and now I have a question, is this version already rooted? I do this question because i dont see the superuser icon now
Can you see the CWM app?
Run it and see if it asks you to grant or deny permission.
You have root if you can see it.

yes i have the CWM
I have the CWM icon, But it doesnt ask me anything about permit or deny
How did you go from GB to ICS?

I installed the zip in the CWM recovery mode and then i did the FULL WIPE... or can someone tell me how to root this ROM?
You probably lost root..try to paste anything in /system directory with a file manager app..
If you can't do that then you'll have to go back to Gingerbread with PC Odin and start from scratch with root etc..
You can try to install the Busybox Installer from the Play Store but chances are you lost root when you flashed the ICS rom.

Install CWM app

Hello,
I'm on rooted lpy with Franco kernel #3. I can reboot into cwm recovery but I haven't got the cwm app. How do I instal that? I've tried flashing the cwm.zip on Dr ketans post but still no cwm app.
Thanks

i did the same and installed the CWM but my recovery mode shows only few options like before i am using galaxy note n7000 android 4.0.4. please help me to solve, because i am not able to flash any .zip file i get the error which says E-signature error.
change the kernel to philz or hydracore. you will get cwm automatically

How to remove cwm recovery???

I installed the speedmod kernel and it automatically installed cwm recovery.
Is there a way to uninstall cwm recovery???

Why are you trying to remove the CWM because is not safe? It is safe because of the safe kernel speedmod k3-7, there no need to removed.

I dont know man, why would you wanna remove CWM?
If you really want to remove it, you can flash an Unsafe Stock kernel.
galaxy note cwm missing
i am having a rooted note i switched between different roms now i am on ics roms currently kingdroid v 4.3. in applications cwm is missing but manually i can go to the cw mod. but unable to flash zip files even though the message is that zip file installed when i use the abyssnote kernell it works fine how can i correct this problem
Ah. Thanks peepz. I used to use the cwm touch recovery to install and flash things then the speedmod kernel added the normal cwm recovery so i was actually just a little confused.
Anyways, thanks for the info. Will leave it installed.

Seems like you are still on stock kernel, so do not wipe or factory reset again, it will brick your phone. Check recovery, if its still stock then go to Dr.ketan's thread in android dev sticky for rooting and root your phone using method 1. First flash root_supersu zip only (may be you already have busybox installed) and if that doesnt give full root then flash root_busybox zip as well.

Try installing chainfire su app from play store. And download root checker app to see if you have root access.

I suppose he flashed cfroot kernel....AFAIK it looks more like a stock kernel with stock recovery. So you cannot confirm by see if its rooted or not.

Try flashing speed mod kernel. It has a feature which roots the phone at first boot if the phone hasn't rooted already.

Got it, your problem is just that you have uninstalled supersu, you can flash the latest supersu zip from chainfires thread or directly flash speedmod or hydracore kernel using pc odin but only if you are on ics.

No!!!if you go for the su.zip method, put the zip in SD card, reboot into recovery, flash the zip.
If you go for the speed mod/hydracore method, download the kernel of your choice which in tar extension and flash it through ODIN.
Edit:I have some doubt that there maybe a conflict between the su binary and super user app.If you have supersu and open it,does it ask for binary update???And after clicking update does it say update failed by any chance???

Its easy.Just put the zip in your internal sd card, reboot into recovery and flash it as you do for flashing any custom rom.No ODIN,No PC/Laptop.
ok i nstalled it but it isnt doing its job still...... i even used root checker pro and su isnt working... any ideas??

nope speed mode did NOTHING changed nothing and su still is gay
OK all sorted i had to install chain fire super su instead of chain dd super user but all worked wel and i have a sped mod kernal to XD thanks for that
CANT THANK YOU ALL ENOUGH FOR ALL YOUR HELP LEARNT SO MUCH
im definetly sticking round here!
If you want to use super user, just install it from the market or make a restore if have one, and open it, than it will ask for updating su binary. Only after that you can uninstall super su. Actually Chainfire mentioms this method on his supersu on the market.

Problem

Can samsung always see that my note 1 was rooted a while ago and is there a way to make it so that it was never rooter or had a custom rom running on it so i can send it back to samsung under garantie
Sent from my GT-N7000 using xda app-developers app
you can flash a stock rom using odin.. this will remove all custom rom parts like recovery , kernel etc.. also you need to check if the binary counter is 0 in download mode and there is no yellow triangle at boot. also you could transfer all imp backups and root apps to ext SD card and format the internal sd..
I already have stock installed through odin but my counter is 1 can i get it back to 0 ?
Sent from my GT-N7000 using xda app-developers app
hmm.. you will need to root again and use the triangle away app by chainfire
I dont have a yellow triangle the only thing is is my counter binary and they could see that it was rooted can i set that to 0
Sent from my GT-N7000 using xda app-developers app
yes use triangle away
They could see that it was rooted. 1time is that also. Away after using triangle away
Sent from my GT-N7100 using xda app-developers app
i dont understand.. on stock rom if you use triangle away, it will reset it to 0.. then no way to know
What i mean is they could see that the phone has been rooted before after use triangle away is than also the root Stats that says that it has been rooted before gone ?
Sent from my GT-N7100 using xda app-developers app
not sure what stats are you talking about.. after using triangle away app, it will make the one that says 1 to 0 and also say Samsung official there... once its one.. you nee to flash the stock rom again to remove the root and they will not cme to know.
