i searched through apps from xt860 and xt883 to find apps that can be used on xt862 and found a few worth mentioning...

Do you mean it doesn't install, if force closes, it doesn't actually block traffic, or something else?
Because it appears to be working fine for me, although i don't use much voice or text...
*edit*
just tested and you're right, doesn't actually block calls; thanks for pointing that out, will remove it.

XT862
Works on the xt862?

I tried installing FM and voice recorder app from XT883 ROM to stock Verizon Xt862 ROM but it the apps failed to install. So, I flashed my phone with Chinese ROM instead. Now everything is working.

Connected Music Player (CMP) from XT860 for Droid 3?

Is anyone able to port the Connected Music Player from the XT860 to the Droid 3?
It would be nice because it has an other widget, Lyrics and FMRadio built in.
Tell me what you think.
An old version already works (its from the Defy). But the acutal XT860 Version would be great.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1211199
Did anyone even try just copying the xt860 apk to xt862?
I guess no. But if someone pulls those files and post them here I'll give it a try of course.
BTW: You're from the Netherlands? Is there a shop there that imports some XT860s?
I'm not quite sure how all of this works but I went through the dump I made earlier this year of my /system and found anything related to FMRadio and CMP (connected music player) and made a RAR of it.
Thanks!
But it seems Motorola packed the pretty old CMP on the XT860. The widget still looks old and ugly. I guess I'll stay with the seperate FM and music app.
what device is the new one on?
I'm still learning android, how did you install a system APK?

Hi,
If you just want the apk and are still on stock, try using Titanium Backup to backup it or use a File Manager to get to the apk and copy it to the sdcard.
Look in /system/app/ for something called Blur.Gallery.apk for Moto's pic app and CMP...something for Moto's Music player. (CMP=Connected Music Player)
I'm doubtful these would even work under ICS.. so maybe try other apps..
Like DoubleYouPee said, QuickPic is pretty good.
For music, try CM9's player (I think the Droid3 ROM comes with Google's ICS music player by default..) : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1450354
Ok, So I just opened a nandroid of my last stock and here are the files I have..
I haven't tested anything so use at your own risk and backup your stuff.
Also take a look at TuneIn if you're interested in local FM broadcasts over WiFi/3G, I use it a lot lately..

[Q] Is Google now restricted in Canada?

I'm having trouble getting Google now on my Moto X to play music when I say "play x". It recognizes exactly what I say but then it just does a google search for the term. I know play music (the app) works and everything and from what I've read from around the internet seems to suggest that this functionality is not available in Canada. Is this true? Is there anyone from Canada who can use this feature? If so, wtf am I doing wrong?
Everything I have seen/read/tried suggests the play music feature does not work in Canada.
I've tried over and over and still no dice. You are looking at third party apps if you want voice control for music.

Well that's a major bummer.

[Q] Bluetooth AVRCP Control Buttons Not Working in LG Stock ROM

Does anyone know a solution for remapping or reutilizing the Bluetooth AVRCP control buttons for a set of bluetooth headphones (LG Tone HBS-700 specifically) on the LG stock ROM? All I want is for the play/pause, forward/previous track buttons to work on my headphones with the SiriusXM app. I came from CM11 and it worked perfectly there. When SiriusXM was playing, the buttons would affect it, and so forth with other music player apps when they had control. Now that I'm back on trying stock ROM, it of course doesn't work because LG's ROM is a piece of junk. Any recommendations?
App in play store called media button router allows you to designate a specific app to be controlled by bt devices.... it's free, maybe that'll do the trick for you

I didn't know about that app! I downloaded and installed it, and unfortunately, it isn't recognizing SiriusXM as one of the music players on my phone. Thanks for the suggestion though.
Maybe email the dev and ask if he'll add it to the app list... couldn't hurt to try.

Not a bad idea. I'll try it!
Sorry to resurrect a zombie thread, but has anyone found a KK ROM with functional AVRCP play / pause support? Media Button Router is a viable alternative for me on 4.3, but does not work on 4.4. Development of the app had basically stopped from what I see... Thanks for any suggestions.

The only ones I ever found to work are AOSP-based, namely Cyanogenmod, but I'm sure any AOSP-based KK ROM would have fully functional AVRCP support for whatever application you're using, provided the application utilizes the system's audio player.

LG FM Radio app download!! Works on Verizon V30!

I found this online and can confirm it works with the Verizon variant of the V30. It's version 5.30.11. You must allow installations from non-trusted sources under settings/security to install this app. Enjoy!!
You can download it from android file host HERE.
Does not work with Korean version of the V30.. Says that I must enable FM Radio first, but there's no such option anywhere
Worked for me thx
Theres already a FM radio app stock on the T-Mobile H932 model.
I was able to install the Next Radio app on my Verizon V30, but I haven't tried it out yet.
So does this app just stream radio or is this an actual fm tuner?

This is the stock LG FM Radio app that utilizes the built in FM tuner on these phones. I can pick up all the radio stations around me that i can in my car. It also supports RDS, radio data system, where the app will display the artist and song info. Pretty cool.
Next Radio runs just fine on my V30. Granted, I only tried it with one station, but it's the ONLY station I listen to.
Can confirm that this works on the Sprint V30+ variant as well. It's not showing any RDS info, however.
Too bad we couldn't get the stock sms app to work. Seems everyone is removing it now
Couldn't install "App not installed. Restricted by device administrator"
Verizon LGV30
FM radio app works on my VS996! Thanks!
No display or scrool problems here. Waiting for 200 dollar card and VR set with bundle of free games. Also did registration for extra year of warranty. This thing is a great deal guys!

Well the problem was on my end. After deactivating the LG package disabler I was able to install the FM radio. Reactivated the package disabler after that and everything works.
It came preinstalled on my v3/0+

I think RDS info is radio station dependent. It shows on some radio stations in my area but not others.
Just another silly move by big red. Why they removed the radio app even though they left the FM receiver present was pretty dumb.

I stand corrected - the app *does* display RDS info, I was just not looking in the right place.
Thanks again for this find. :good:
Another confirmation that the app works on the VZW version of the V30... Very nice! Thank you.
Next radio app
I have a Verizon V 30 and downloaded the Next radio app from the play store. It works great but you need the headphones/earbuds plugged in as it serves as your antenna. I tuned in to a station and went out and checked it with my car radio and they both were playing the same song . with this app you can choose to use the tuner or you can stream if your phone doesn't have a fM tuner. My Verizon V 30 worked great with the tuner.
Can confirm it works on Korean v30+
