Im trying to root with http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1319653 DooMLoRDs' esy root toolkit. I have debug, allow non market apps both check. I connect to my PC, run the .BAT file, press key to continue, and then says, Daemon started successfully, then nothing happens!! WTF?! HELP.!!!!!
just to make sure that ur device is identified by ur system.
type "adb devices" in windows terminal and see if it detects.

if it is detected.you can try "super one click root" .
thats how i rooted mine
or else reinstall the driver again.

I'm trying to root my nexus one via super one click root and I keep getting "waiting for device". I'm running froyo 2.2.1

Don't bother. I had same problem. Go to modaco and use Paul's superboot. Works like a charm
Sent from my Nexus One using XDA App
I had lots of problems with that too. Download the PDAnet desktop client to your computer, this will install the USB drivers needed. They could probably be installed other ways but that took of the waiting for device issue for me.

+1 that worked for me too on Win7x32, following the procedure in the first page of this thread. Thanks guys!
Use universalandroot or z4 works great

Are you blind? UniversalAndroot does not work after 2.2
And anyways, SuperOneClick works great if your drivers are installed correctly...

Cool...I'm on Win7x64.
Settings>Applications>Development>Turn on USB Debugging
was a must for me to get this working with WinXP and the Galaxy Fascinate. The PDAnet applicaiton was crucial in getting my PC to recognize the driver. Thanks for the tips all.

I had the same problem and posted my solution in the main SOC thread. Here's what I did:
I used SOC 1.5.1. I had Debugging enabled and turned the phone off. I opened SOC and clicked 'Root.' When the prompt said 'Waiting for Device,' I turned the phone on. SOC did it's thing, and it properly remounted the phone. Everything is good now. I hope this works for you!!!
i have a cliq xt and superoneclick keeps ending with read only, can anyone help?

I have not been able to find a working link please help!
this worked for me the 1st time, http://nd1razor.blogspot.com/2011/07/how-to-root-android-234-nexus-one.html
works without unlocking bootloader!
tried the guide from the xda wiki but failed for some unknown reason. try the above link.
i got nexus one.. and as doon as i recieved , it downloaded the update 2.2.1 and installed.
after that i realised that was teh worst thing to be done.
as i cant get it to root....
WITHOUT PC:
i dont think that it is possible for 2.2.1
i tried universal androot, no success.
WITH PC:
i am not getting adb to detect nexus.
after installing adb and then typing adb devices, it shows a serial no. and then device offline..
what this means is it not accessible?
i m in big problem, coz i cant get it to root....
any other method anyone knows how to root it without pc??
please help me..
and i guess teh 2.3.3 update is out for nexus one, then why my nexus one at 2.2.1 says latest update installed??

Ok, so figured i need a quick reply
I used this toolkit, unlocked bootloader fine, but when i go to root, it gets stuck on 'Waiting for your device to finish booting back up...' on the PC and 'Booting Downloaded image' on my nexus
Do i have to manually reboot?
Is it safe to stop the process now?
Thanks
:crying:
EDIT: Pressing the POWER button does not reboot the device
Don't use toolkits and you won't have this problem.

Almost all computers (including the n7) will turn off if you hold the power button long enough. With the n7 it will immediately reboot.

@eldaddy - The forums are for collaboration and help. I fail to see how your post does either.

I'm rather aware what these forums are for. I was helping by telling them not to use a toolkit.

Wugfresh's toolkit works fine, and is a perfectly good choice for those new to Android who don't want to take the chance they'll mistype something in the command line.
This happened to me using the toolkit as well, I think the problem lies with the USB drivers, which can get confused or lose sync. Just power off your Nexus and try the procedure again from the start. Make sure you plug it into one of the USB ports on the back of your motherboard rather than going through a hub.

Mine hung at the reboot, i just rebooted while holding the volume down button.
The tool kit it's great and even had an advanced for manual commands. Which was nice since i just reinstalled windows to a ssd, which was nice instead of setting up and downloading the sdk

Now that Asus has posted official USB drivers you may want to uninstall the ones provided by the toolkit and use those instead.
I found this toolkit great, try using a manual root. Theres a guide in dev section

Thanks. The drivers really screwed me on Windows 8 because they weren't signed and requires hacking Windows to accept them.
I'm already on CM10 but nice to keep those officials handy for some emergency.

Try this first
Try downloading supersu or superuser from the market, along with an app whih requires root permissions, such as titanium backup. After installing supersu, try running titanium backup, hopefully it will give you the prompt to grant permissions, and then you wont have to reroot.

hi
i need FTF firmwares for my xperia z c6602
now iam on 253 i want to downgread to root it
help
This is most of the xperia firmwares
You dont have to unlock your bootloader to flash these
Choose 434
http://www.qosmodro.me/2013/01/xperia-2011-official-stock-firmware.html?m=1
But why exactly you want to downgrade?
Hit thanks if this helped you

Just use this to root -
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2327472
No need to downgrade any more.
I'm not sure why the previous poster didn't just link you to that method as they are well aware that it exists.
Just as an aside, people begging for thanks when posting a reply to somebody's question should have their thanks meter disabled IMHO

Make sure the PC companion or Sony Update tool is not running.
If it still doesn't work, then make sure all drivers for your phone are installed correctly.

Are you sure PC Companion or SUS isn't active in the system tray? It cannot be active in any way, background or not.
If not, do you have anything else running that is used to manage your phone? Nothing else that uses ADB can be active on your PC when you're trying to run the tool including flashtool etc.
Try reinstalling drivers etc, use a different USB port/cable or even a different PC.
If nothing works, then I don't know what else to suggest. The tool works just fine for everyone else.

If you install the Sony PC companion, adb drivers should be installed at the same time. That's all I have done.
