I can connect to my home wifi fine, good signal and everything, but the thing is when I go to say, load a webpage, it just won't load. No matter how long you leave it.
But when I connect to a mobile hotspot Wifi from my other phone it works fine.
Could it be something to do with my router?
Thanks to anyone that try to help
What router is it?

If you have a terminal emulator on your phone, you can try to "ping" the router (most likely 192.168.something.1..)
"ping 192.168.1.1" or whatever address the router has...
This is the same address that you'd type in a browser on your PC to configure access the router's config..
And try to ping something on the Internet such as one of Google's DNS server (ping 8.8.8.8)
A few more details might help us help you:
Router brand and model?
Encryption type used (None, WEP, WPA, WPA2..)? ..WPA2 is sometimes downright broken on some router models..
Does your wireless Internet router work for another wireless device?
Does your Internet work from a wired computer on the same router?
Is the router configured for wireless g,n, or mixed? You might need to play with the router configs.

It's a NETGEAR Wireless N Router - WNR2000.
Security: WPA-PSK [TKIP] + WPA2-PSK [AES]
Channel: Auto
All my other devices that I have used the wifi with have worked fine.
This is really annoying, I just can't think of what the problem is..
How many devices are connected to the router at any given time? Try disconnecting another device from wifi and see if that works.

Yeah when I disconnected my laptop and then connected my DROID3 it worked fine.
What is the solution to allow it for the DROID3 to work?
Your router only allows for a certain amount of connections. You will either have to turn wifi off of one of the devices or get another router.... simple solution would be to turn off wifi one of the devices when you are not using it.

Try changing the security to WPA2 with AES only - I've seen problems with Android phones in the past when both TKIP with WPA and AES with WPA2 are enabled. If you have any old devices that don't use WPA2 (unlikely), then try WPA with TKIP only. See if that fixes it.
If not, and it's a device limit issue, check the DHCP settings on the router to see what the address range is. If it is set to something like 192.168.0.2 to 192.168.0.xx (whatever number xx is), try extending the range to something larger (though no larger than 254, obviously) and see if that helps.
I tried it a second time and a only got connections every minute or something and it wouldn't last for very long :\
It's not a device limit issue because I have had 2+ devices connected to the wireless before.
I second switching to AES. It is more secure anyway.

^ tried that aswell and it didn't work
Maybe try setting a static IP?

Turn off all security on the router and try again as a test.also you might need to reset your wifi connections on your phone. Try wifi fixer

Have you tried resetting the router? Power it down and then re apply the power. I know that it makes no sense that this should work, but it has fixed the problem twice on my D3.

So, I've searched for a bit, on here and Google, but not having much luck. My phone has always been good at connecting to WiFi hotspots. However, I am currently visiting a house that has a Wireless N router and using WPA2 security, and it won't connect.
Is it true that these phones have issues connecting to that or is there a fix?

Well the hero only has b/g wireless capabilities, change the wireles router to also brodcast in g mode, since n will not work.
Here is the odd thing. I mentioned about it to the person who setup the wireless network, and he said that the router is broadcasting in B, G, and N. My phone detects it, but when it attemps to connect to it, it says "Disconnected". Am I doing something wrong or is there something missing in my phone?
My phone connects just fine to my N router. There might be setting restrictions that need to be changed on the router via the administrative computer

Hi all
Does anybody have an Incredible S using Wi-Fi via a Belkin Wireless N Router?
I have the F5D8636-4 V1 and can't get the internet working.
I have tried setting up a static ip address, it says it's connected, but I still don't have internet access
Can anybody help?
Are other devices managing to connect to the internet through the wireless network?

I have a Belkin Wireless N, and I also had the same issue.
I also tried everything that I could, and nothing worked.
I have no idea if this was a coincidence or the actual problem, but my router wifi channel was set to 13. When I changed it to channel 2, my Incredible S connected to wifi instantly.
Strange.

Check out this thread. Seems to be an issue with HTC phones in general - they only work on Wi-Fi channels 1 to 11. It can be fixed, but you have to root the phone to change the system setting that controls it.
Hi,
I have some issue with WIFI. WIFI connection is very unstable even in 1 feet from router (Linksys WRT350N on DD-WRT 13064). It is connected very quickly and get IP address but then connection is working with very large delays (30+ seconds). If I disable and reenable WIFI adapter then it work good for some time but then it lost it again. All other devices work find with same router. I got 2 motorola BIONIC at launch day and both have WIFI issue.
Has anyone else have same issue?
Dmitry
I get slower than 3g speeds when I connect to my home Airport Extreme router.. No idea why... but my connection speed at work on our Wifi is just fine.

Mine kept disabling the wifi connection. Once I booted into recovery and reset, it was fine.
ive had issues with wifi too,got full signal but phone browser wont load anything.
I had this same problem. I hard reset using recovery but it came right back. I then did a reset using the the settings, privacy. I was able to fix the issue with the second hard reset. The only change I did was not allow Google to restore my phone from previous backup.
Goodluck.

ive tried resets, changing setting on router, still unable to get browser to load web pages with wifi.
Is this a universal issue, or do I need to go back to Verizon and get the phone replaced? Anyone have the exact answer to this?

What are the odds you have WPA with AES encryption set on your router? I have had the Droid X and Bionic fail to load pages under that setting. But as soon as I switched the encryption to TKIP it worked on both.

Looking at the encryption now under security - NONE is what I have selected...
WEP CONFIGURATION
WEP Passphrase
WEP Authentication Yes Open No Shared Key
Encryption No Enable 64-Bit No Enable 128-Bit
WPA Encryption No TKIP No AES
Group Rekey Interval 0 seconds
WPA Authentication No Remote (Radius) Yes Local (WPA-PSK)
check your wireless frequency
For those of you able to connect with no problem but still can not access any internet i read somewhere that some Droid bionics were having trouble with b/g 2.4GHz routers. If your router is b/g only then disabling WEP encryption could work. I checked and sure enough mine is only wireless b/g however WEP encryption was already disabled. The fact that it could be because its a b/g only router would explain why I have no problem getting online at my job, which just aquired a new belkin dual band router, and my school, which I have no doubt uses only dual band routers being a college. I believe normally a/n 5GHz devices are suppose to be backwards compatible with wireless b/g. The only difference being less reliable and slower connection. Best bet is get a dual band router.
My Droid 3 (Milestone 3 - XT860 - here in Argentina) won't find my Wi-Fi connection, my modem-router is a Zyxel P-600 Series
Finds others Wi-Fi connections, but not mine. The SSID is visible, I tried also adding the connection manualy, but nothing happened.
Any ideas??
Changing ROM will make it find the connection?
Thanks!
Maybe try changing the broadcast channel on the Router or making sure that it is set to Wireless b/g/n or b/g. It likely isn't a ROM based problem if it sees other wireless networks.
Nope, nothing about that.
Any other ideas?
If you have encryption enabled try turning it off to see if it works without it. If it does, try a different encryption. My droid didn't seem to like WPA2 much.

I'm not able to connect to wifi at all with my One, even when I have excellent wifi strength. I thought I had a defective unit but I got another one and it still doesn't connect. I have no trouble connecting at all with my iPhone 4s, Nexus 7, or Samsung Galaxy S1. (When I run speed test with these I get about 7-10 Mbps download and about 10-15 Mbps upload) Is there anything I can do to fix this? (like an update or something) This is my last resort before I bring it back and use my old phone.
Have you changed your WiFi password recently?

Ok I fixed it. To anyone having problems with wifi, on your wifi settings click "show advanced options," change ip settings to static, and change the DNS 2 to 8.8.4.4

If I am not mistaken that 8.8.4.4 is a google DNS. Meaning you bypassed your providers DNS and are now using this one. This would indicate that there is a DNS conflict between you and your provider....and you basically went around the problem. Hey if it works it is all good I guess and of course I may be way of course in the response. If so then please feel free to refer to me as a dum dum
Edit: Let me re-phrase this a bit because it does not actually indicate a conflict. Apparently your wifi router is set to this google 8.8.4.4 DNS and not the DNS that your provider is using. Thus any device going through the wifi router must match this DNS setting to connect.
Many people on lets say XBOX do this to maybe help with lag and stuff especially if the google DNS server is closer to them than there Providers DNS server.. It is really no big deal in the grand scheme of things but it is not a universal fix as so stated in your reply. Hope this makes sense.
I'm having issues connecting to the 5mhz WiFi network while the 2.4 works perfectly fine on same router. Same thing at work... Laptops connect fine. Tried both stock and viper Rom and still nothing... It just doesn't even connect to the network... The pass was entered correctly.

No issues on 5GHz with my Linksys E3000's with dd-wrt firmware. Are you on the latest firmware from the manufacturer of your device?
Using ddwrt myself.. it's really weird cause even at work with their fancy routers.. it doesn't work nor at home... Maybe just defective antenna or something ? The 2.4 works fine.
