Hi
Up until yesterday, apps, whether paid or free would download fine on my device. Nothing has changed my end, but today, paid apps will no longer download (free apps download fine). There are two issues, the authorising payment page takes eons (used to be instant), and the phone sits on the 'starting download' or 'downloading...' pages for ever without ever actually downloading the app that I have paid for. Issue is present whether I initiate the download from the phone or from a PC.
Obviously, this makes the phone next to useless. I have no time to wipe/re-install the phone - especially since this may not even fix the issue!
I can find no 'report an issue' link at google's market to get support on this issue. The apps purchased are past the refund window.
I have tried all the various fixes I found on google (start google talk, kill cache/app settings for market and downloader), try another internet connection, restart phone blah blah, nothing has worked.
Anyone got any suggestions?
Nigel
Paid apps that had previously been installed and then removed will re-install fine... I can only assume that its the authorisation thats failing (nothing wrong with any of the cards on my google wallet account).
Nigel
Go to setting - application - manage - All - market - clear cache n Data
do same for talk (google talk)
first login to talk then market
In market application - check setting - accout - Fix default if you have multiple acc
Hi
As mentioned in my original post. I already tried that. I just tried it again with the same result.
After having done the above, I tried to buy the app from my PC, Got the following message 'Your order is still being processed. Your item will become available as soon as your order is complete. If you'd like, you can check your order status at anytime.' which is not the norm. Clicking the link within the message takes me to the transaction in google wallet which is listed as 'complete' unfortunately, the download does not auto-start (like it used to) on the phone, and when I force it to manually start, It goes to the 'starting download...' message. The app never does download, market app just displays this message forever more until I go and 'clear data' for the market app.
I give up! Looks like I am stuck with what I have on the phone + whatever I can get for free.
Have emailed google, will update thread should they bother to respond.
Market version is 3.4.4 | Download Manager is 2.3.5
Have you vosited web version of market?
Market.android.com login with google acc.
You will see your purchased appl there, if u can see there, click on install from there, it will start installing to ur device remotely
Try it
Hi
Yep, tried that - does not work. I can initiate the installation of free apps from the market on a pc, but not paid apps. The paid app I am trying to install is listed as having been successfully purchased. Looks like a bug/glitch, but one I am going to have to wait for google to fix.
Do you have the Amazon app market installed?

This issue seems to be with KL3 onwards and region or could be csc dependent, the only fix for this is to use the older market version the 2.6.x
try going into recovery mode and choose fix permission
Hi
Well, I got an auto response from google 'we are looking into it', but no emails since. Tried again this morning, and everything just started working again. Whether this was an issue with the market, my market account, my google wallet account etc is unknown.
I'd like to know the reason so I can fix it if it happens again, but at least its now working again.
@ericshmerick: Nope, no amazon app market. I don't believe this works in the UK
Nigel
The exact same thing is happening to me were you able to eventually get the apps you purchased its been about two days and the problem persists I have filed a support case with Google happening on two phones and a tablet ans the web market through a PC isn't working either. It seems to get stuck at authorizing the payment .

This was a big problem two weeks ago. I think the CheckROM guys figured out how to fix it. Their forum has a nice FAQ at the start. Have a look there. If that doesn't help then wade through the Rocket forum.

Hello All,
Apologies if this has been addressed already. I did try to search for the issue and have found various articles outside of XDA, but none internally. Yesterday, or perhaps the day before, I noticed I was unable to update any of my apps via the Google Play Store.
I tried the basic troubleshooting steps.
Reset mobile data.
Did a clear cache and data on the Play Store app, as well as Google Play Services (this also kicked me back to an older version of play, when I go to settings and click build, it says it will install a new version of Play, i.e. the one I had prior to a Data clear, but I never get it).
Removed and re-added my google account on my phone.
Stopped short of doing a factory reset, as I am not too keen on doing so just yet.
Called Google Support (or rather, used their callback feature built into the play store app), and they were absolutely clueless. The guy literally said, there is no solution to this problem and hung up on me, sounded like the gentlemen may have been from Africa, or the call center in Africa. Whatever the case, it was clear he had absolutely no technical knowledge or ability other than reading 3 lines from a script.
In any event, has anyone else been experiencing this issue, and is there a solution and/or any insight or updates regarding this?
Thanks in advance.
Do you get any errors from Play Store while trying to update apps?
No errors, whatsoever. Just stuck on downloading. Tried it over WI-FI and it still didn't work. Then went tried a different Wi-Fi and was able to download apps and update apps again, but I still can't download or update anything over my mobile network.
At one point, I got a timeout message coded (925). Searched around for that, and none of the fixes worked (I had already tried tjose fixes anyway).
MODERATOR, please move this to the T-Mobile Galaxy Note 5 forum. Apologies. I was at work when posting this, and didn't check which forum I was in when posting. This should be addressed in the T-Mobile Note 5 forum. Thanks!!
Clear data and cache of Play Store app, then connect to VPN (change your IP address to another country), and run Play Store, see if it works or not.
Ok TAEL, I will try this and get back to you.
Found the culprit. Apparently, on the Note 5, there are fine grained settings for restricting background data for certain apps and processes. I had restricted background data for "Media", and this was the issue. Thank you for your help!
You silly guy, you.
Morning all!
I appreciate your help on previous posts of mine and I'm looking to seek your help once more.
I use several apps that use the Google API for maps, unfortunately (aside from actual Google apps) this doesn't work. It simply says 'Google Play services are updating'. Except when I go to the settings, they are not.
Is anyone else having this issue/has been able to find a workaround?

I had the same problem, so I did this - went to Settings / Apps, turned on "Show system processes", then under Google Play Services / Storage /Manage Space cleared all data. Now everything works

It fixed the problem to me, but only until the reboot.
Then the problem appears again.

Yeah, unfortunately this seems to be the case for me too. I haven't been able to find a more permanent workaround.
Fortunately i figured out!
This is happening due to beta version of google play services. I unistalled the latest updates and it came to a version 11.9.75. Then, it didn't upate anymore, unless i download an app called Play Services Info.
If you stay at version 11.9.75 then there is no problem at in-app maps (reboot it or not).

Thanks. This also fixed an issue for me I was just about to ask about, where all links from my Google feed refused to open in anything but Chrome and the option to "open web pages in the Google app" was greyed out (and Opera as my default browser was also ignored).
I was also unable to sign into Chrome, it said my account was already in use. Seems to be working now.
I wonder what's going on here? Never seen anything like it on my previous Samsung phones.
Just had the update to 110 UK, but the issue has just occurred again.
It's getting ridiculous!
Same issue here, and I can't log into Chrome .. Says "Syncing to .." and never updates. Some apps are forcing me to update Google Play Services, so this is a mess .. If you update play services then Uber and Maps, along with some other apps won't work!

only workaround is to clear all google play services data
I am also struggling under this.
My Fitness apps doesnt shop a map until i delete the play service data. Works until the next reboot. Hope someone is fixing this soon.
The temporary fix results in all credit/debit cards vanishing from the Google Pay app.
So basically I just uninstalled the current updated version of google play services and forced google play to no auto-update. This seems to have fixed the issue temporarily. If you stay at version 11.9.75 then there is no problem.
Hi all,
Android app developer here. This is an issue with the latest Google Play Services (12.6.73 released on 10th May) and has been affecting Huawei devices and maybe some other vendors.
You can check the progress on it on Google issue tracker here.
Also from what I've read the "clear app data" fix is just temporary, issue returns after device restart or after some time. Google seems to be already working on the issue so I think it would be best to wait it out unfortunately
I have a couple of issues it seems besides the map issue:
2 factor prompt doesn't work anymore, and the google assistant options are broken.
Couldn't log into chrome with my google account either but that seems to be fixed after a factory reset.
Edit: most of the issues seem to be fixed now. Still no working 2 factor prompt. Other than that everything is fine again

Yes I was having the problem too until I disabled Play Services and left the beta program in the play store, then updated again. Leaving the beta definitely solved the issue.

Do u have any link to that?
Yesterday I updated to Oreo as the ZTE Axon M update service showed a new update available. On update Google Play would no longer launch and Play Services was not functioning. The Google Application services were pre-installed on the phone when purchased and shipped from AliExpress.
I figured I would reset the phone and on reset all Google functionality was removed.
I figured I would simply install the GAPPS services again and followed this thread:
https://android.gadgethacks.com/how...-store-without-gapps-google-services-0176241/
However once everything installs and I launch the Play Store I get a white blank screen.
I would have expected to be prompted for the Google Account login screen and if I check Accounts from settings I can see that there is a Google Account listed but not configured and if I click it I am told to add the account from the relevant app. There is no other shortcut installed though other than Google Play Store which hangs as described previously.
I have tried various other ways to get this sorted out but the end result is the same, inability to add a google account and no way to launch the play store.
I considered YalpStore but its really not fit for purpose because anything that requires the Google Play Services framework will not run.
My phone is not rooted but it appears it does not need to be for GAPPS install functionality. I can see many threads that say this works without the need for rooting (and in any event there are no guides for rooting an Axon M).
My question is simply how do I the Google Play Store and Google Play Services to work on the ZTE Axon M with the Oreo update ? It is driving me nuts and I would never have proceeded with the update if I had realised it would simply be removed.

I tried, same issue crashing
I tried multiple methods too, but to no avail.
I do suspect a possibility. The previous time when i managed to get my gapps working when i first got the Chinese set, i had to disable the "Mi-Assistant" App as that was the one preventing my Google Play Services from Auto-Running even though it was set to allow. This time, I can not even see Google Play Services in the Auto-Run Manager and while i tried to force stop and disable the "Mi-Assistant" App, it does not allow me to disable.
I hope this info can help provide some leads to an expert who would be able to help us get back our GApps running again.
Thanks.
I do agree... meanwhile take a look here: https://code.tutsplus.com/articles/10-alternative-android-app-stores--cms-20999

After several attempts I managed to install a heavy game (1.3 GB) as ADERA disabling all the Chinese apps, keeping the display always active, I only downloaded via wi-fi. So I managed to download it without problems (I do not know which of these changes worked). the application has a triangular design with central red, the word Google followed by two Chinese characters

yes oreo 8.1 axon m 6 / 128gb. If there is the possibility I can post images of the app. One thing the app inside contains the play store but the apps that you download do not appear on the home of the device but within the app itself
Sounds like an emulator to me.. Would be great if you could provide the images of the app. Any small information helps.
Btw, to all, i did manage to download a GApps installer which seemed promising, cause at least it went into the login page for Google Account. But then the error of requesting to update "Google Play Services" popped up again and again and everything went down the drain again. Will try further and hopefully will have good news.
I'm new on the forum you have to explain to me how to post the images. thank you

There is an application in the ZTE Market that installs a pseudo Google Play but it is sandboxed somehow and you have to launch this app to get access to your installs - feels very insecure to me - I just want a clean Google Play on the device
unfortunately for now it is the only solution I found. Otherwise you must use third-party app stores such as amazon, aptoide, etc.

I posted a link with a few of alternative stores (the best is to get the apk stand-alone ihmo) but if it is to follow that sandbox ways, as suggest, create a new "junky" account just to have it registered.

[GUIDE] New method to install Google Mobile Services on Huawei P40 / Mate 30 and other phones without GMS
Hi guys!!!
I'm thrilled to report that I just found this new way to get Google Mobile Services to work on Huawei and Honor devices that don't have them.
It's totally working [today is 20 june 2020] and it SOLVES the new problem that doesn't let the users sign-in to their Google accounts at the time of the installation.
Everything is very detailed and shown step-by-step on the following video...
Please be sure to download the .zip file that has all the stuff needed to get this to work. Using this method, that zip file must be copied to the root a pen-drive. It's here, for Android 10: https://bit.ly/2ATWPGE
[UPDATE - 29 / June / 2020]
Important stuff:
- You must have your phone in english in order to proceed with this method.
- After it is complete you can switch back to your preferred language, without problems.
- If you want to add more Google accounts, you should do this procure while you are installing GMS. Use this link: https://youtu.be/jgCN6SeP32c?t=1418 It guides directly to the right moment in that video.
By the way, it's working great for a lot of users. Push notifications, though, aren't working.
Still, I believe this is the best method around.
Cheers!
Amazing!
Just tried it - not working for me. Got passed the sign in issue where the old method failed, and successfully created a google account. However I get the message at the end of the process that my device isn't Google Play certified. I followed video to the end where I repeat the uninstalling and re-installing the last items again, but still the same error. I can get Play Store to run, and download aps, eg Gmail, but when I run it, there is the same error about play services not supported.
UPDATE.
Repested the last few stages AGAIN and now - Gmail runs and I can see my emails, however after a few seconds it closes every time.
Play store is no longer working.
Getting an "Error while retrieving information from serve: DF-DFERH-01"
I'll keep trying I guess
OK, giving up. I have repeated the uninstall, reinstall steps several times now and can't get it to work. Interestingly, in Device ID software my phone no longer shows any information for Google Services Framework, IMEI, SIM Subscriber ID, Sim Card, Hardware Serial. I'm guessing this is why Play Store won't run. Have tried rebooting.
Going to remove everything and reboot. Have to wait for another guide/work around.

the "new Method" works only temp...
- it works only on english system language
- after change to german system language, you get this error: Error while retrieving information from serve: DF-DFERH-01"
- or this can be fixed b ycleared cache and data of the services framework again (+force stop) but than you are can access google pay store but than the notifcation issue starts again.
Its not 100% and its not heaven and not better as any other methods on the past. It only fix the "google server can not be reached issue" and add two more problems..

You are wrong. You are writing many wrong things. I used this method on my P40 in asian language and all works good. No notifications after reboot or similar. That DF-DFERH-01 error is a common problem that can come out also on previous guides. You need to reset your device and start following the guide from scratch.

I'll wait until others post about their experiences. I have wiped my device, done a full factory reset. Interestingly I tried my online banking app before wiping it - it reported me as signing in from another device. It listed this phone and the phone from yesterday (same handset) before I attempted this as 2 different devices. So I'm wondering if this works by sending some spoof ID (or even changes ID) to Google to get it as an authorised device, especially as a lot of the info was missing from Device ID? Play store was originally working up until you have to start uninstalling and re-installing files.
I may be tempted again at some point, especially if there is a way of doing this that works long term. But for now I think I will invest my time in finding alternatives to Google apps and look to moving my info across there. The only thing I used on a regular basis and will miss is the contactless payments., especially with Covid19. I can get emails working using another app that has access to Gmail. It's easy enough to export your data if you want to ditch Google. So far I've only encountered 2 non Google apps I use that refuse to run, FlightRadar24 (geek alert) and Ebay. It should be possible to access these from browser, I guess - not tried yet. And I have a good alternative for YouTube that works great as well. I can even use the online banking. Only had the phone 2 days, so still enjoying trying something different to my previous Samsung phones.
