Try this THREAD first.
If it doesn't work, you'll have to restore your X8 to it's original state. Follow these instructions STEP BY STEP:
- On your PC, uninstall Sony PC Companion
- Restart your PC
- Reinstall Sony PC Companion by downloading it from here
- Turn off the phone, and unplug it from the PC !
- Turn on Sony PC Companion on your PC
- In PC Companion, enter the Support Zone tab
- Go to Update Phone Software
A window will pop out, saying that it cannot find your phone
- Click on Fix Phone
- Click on Continue
A window will pop out, saying that you will lose all your data
- TICK the BOX
- Click on continue
An update process will began.
Wait for it to show a window with all the SONY mobile phones
- Find your phone (X8)
- Click on the phone.
Now all you have to do is follow the on-screen instructions. It will tell you to hold the back button and plug your turned-off X8 to the PC, then it will erase everything, and download the original 2.1 ROM to your X8.
If Sony PC Companion STILL doesn't recognize your X8, then, uninstall it AGAIN, and start the above described process AGAIN. It WILL eventually work!

U said it does not connect, have you tried connecting it normaly with p.c with debugging on letting the drivers get installed first..
1. Install the PC Companion from SE.
2. Connect Phone to PC also PC Compannion asked for, let Windows find all Drivers.
3. Switch USB-Debugging on, one or two more Drivers will be found.
4. Start SuperOneClick, click on "root". Wait ~10 Seconds to finish.
5. Reboot.

if you're still confuse, downgrade your phone!
its last option
downgrade into 2.1 - download this file from files crop X8 E15i 2.1.1.C.0.0._un.ftf
root your phone by flash tool..
then install xrecovery by clicking cross icon on flashtool
OR
download this file (password=cintaindonesia) and extract in your SDcard
after that copy paste three files(busybox, chargemon, xrecovery.tar) in system\bin
and you will get xrecovery
after that
unlock bootloader using flashtool OR s1tool
Flash the latest kernel
backup
factory reset, wipe data, etc
Flash ROM
done!

You are stuck in a boot loop. If your phone is rooted refresh the rom or try clearing your cache partition. If not only the company repair centres can help you. (useless in this case). Try some other repair centre.

OK here is how to check if your drivers are installed properly. Use flash mode and plug your device in ( you should see a green LED)
Then open settings/ device manager
If there is not triangle with a ! In it, you are good to go.
Also, if you are on Windows 8, you have to disable driver certificate enforcement first.

OK. I am not very experienced with Sony devices but I am sure there must be a way to enter the bootloader. Usually you can't do anything wrong with the bootloader. Search on the net for a way to enter the bootloader. Then enter recovery mode. If you can't then you don't have recovery installed. If you do then great. If you don't have recovery use a root toolkit for your device.
Press the thanks button if you feel I have helped you!

Hey. I just installed "Jolla Launcher" to my Z3 Compact and rebooted the device. It reboots but is now stuck at "the waves" animation. Tried to reset the phone (physical reset-button and VolUp+Power) but doesn't help. Is it bricked or can I still save it?
you can probably removed the bad app using adb. you will need to know the location and name of the app on your device. otherwise, if you're rooted, you can boot into recovery and factory reset or use flashtool/PC companion to reflash the ROM.

So...everythings OK now.
