Have u installed gordon gate drivers?
First connect phone then hold press back button untill green light show. Then check if windows recognized it.
Then remove battery.
Go to flash tool select the ftf u want to flash then wait until the dialog appear. Then connect phone (if u unplug before) insert battery hold press back till green light show, now it should be flash

sometimes its happen cz :
- drivers not installed correctly (x8 drivers and gordon)
- make sure your unlock BL process work successfully
- check all your hardware connection (cable, usb, etc)
don't forget to have > 60% battery
have you install the driver from /driver folder on the flashtool installed folder??
and dont forget to check the X8 ADB driver and fastboot / flashboot whatever LOL
just check that 2 thing and you shouldnt get any problem
Hey install the gorden gates driver provided with flastool and try again.....

Try this THREAD first.
If it doesn't work, you'll have to restore your X8 to it's original state. Follow these instructions STEP BY STEP:
- On your PC, uninstall Sony PC Companion
- Restart your PC
- Reinstall Sony PC Companion by downloading it from here
- Turn off the phone, and unplug it from the PC !
- Turn on Sony PC Companion on your PC
- In PC Companion, enter the Support Zone tab
- Go to Update Phone Software
A window will pop out, saying that it cannot find your phone
- Click on Fix Phone
- Click on Continue
A window will pop out, saying that you will lose all your data
- TICK the BOX
- Click on continue
An update process will began.
Wait for it to show a window with all the SONY mobile phones
- Find your phone (X8)
- Click on the phone.
Now all you have to do is follow the on-screen instructions. It will tell you to hold the back button and plug your turned-off X8 to the PC, then it will erase everything, and download the original 2.1 ROM to your X8.
If Sony PC Companion STILL doesn't recognize your X8, then, uninstall it AGAIN, and start the above described process AGAIN. It WILL eventually work!

this the problem with my xperia x8:
Help me please
I have a Brick Xperia X8, my Xperia Stuck on "Sony Ericsson" after I turn on my device. my Xperia has been rooted for GingerDX . i was already using GINGERDX V22. but when i tried to install GINGERDX V28 it got screwed up :crying: and my xperia stuck in "Sony Ericsson" after I do full wipe and format system(because i already done many install and uninstall application).
if I charge my xperia through original charger, it only stuck on "Sony Ericsson" and the LED not flame.
I have tried using SEUS, PCC and Flashtool, but my Xperia cannot response while connecting usb cable and press back button. the program keep requesting for connecting usb cable and press back button. but the LED green is on
The Big Problem is " My Xperia won't response after the program request for connecting usb cable and press back button" that command always like that, even I connect usb cable to my phone and press back button. either in SEUS, PCC, Flashtool even in S1toll.i have tried mutiple install/uninstall of USB drivers....nothing works.tried in both windows XP and Windows 7.i cant think my day without my x8
I have tried to use Reelock bootloader(S1tool), but my xperia could not response too. either I click Identity, Flash or Restore. I have tried Gordon's Gate to reset my usb port, but my computer always hang when I connected USB cable and press back button.
Please, what can I do to save my Xperia X8......when i'm connecting my x8 to pc via USB the green light is on. so i hope x8 is not fully dead:angel::angel:.
one more imp note i must mention: when i m connecting my phone in flash mode(i.e turn off x8...hold back button and plug in usb) phone is not detected....but strangely...when my x8 is stuck at 'sony ericssion' at dat time if i m connecting my phone to pc PCC pops up with message'x8 connected' but nothing happens after that...plz plzz plzz save my phone!!!!!!!this is my very first post in XDA:fingers-crossed::fingers-crossed::fingers-crossed::fingers-crossed::fingers-crossed:

Well this is my first post here.
To be very short this is not a totally new problem. This is a combination of many problems that has made me totally helpless.
I had rooted my device using x8toolbox beta4, and installed a Gingerxperia V21 custom ROM.
After that i tried unlocking the bootloader, but flashtools continuously kept saying that my device was in MTP mode and strange enough there was no option in my phone's settings to change it.
So I went back to x8toolbox planning on installing the stock ROM back, when i saw busybox installer within.
I installed busybox 1.19.0 and then i asked x8toolbox to check the digitizer on my phone, AND THERE IT STARTED REBOOTING OVE AND OVER.
So now my phone can't connect to my pc for PCC repair or flashtools as MTP mode can't be switched off (and my phone won't turn on for the sd card to be read). And i am stuck with the Sony Ericsson Logo.
Please help me.....thanks in advance.
U have soft bricked your x8.
U can reset your x8 to original 2.1 with the help of following steps.
It's easy. Do it and rooted your phone again
forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1570523
Officially corp via W8
Or just try Flashtool
i think your problem is flashing driver.. try to install on /flashtool/drivers/ the name of drivers is gordon gate.. but if your have a same problem after installed drivers, check your drivers on my computer/drivers.. or try for flashing on other computer..

Thanks for your answer..... But as I said my phone is still in MTP mode and doesn't seem to snap out of it. As i plug in my phone it turns on the green light and then starts rebooting as usual. Is it my driver 's issue? or is it just the mtp mode?? flashtool also says the same thing..:crying:

Then I downloaded the stock sony xperia z ftf image, placed it in Flashtool's firmware folder, then flashed it (flash device > flash mode).

If you still can enter custom recovery, you only need flash rom and (with) suitable kernel.
If not, you need Flashtool.
- make sure you have the newest version of flashtool and driver
- connect your phone to pc.
- when computer show error about usb not recognized, go to computer management - device manager. Find something in universal serial bus controller list that have yellow triangle and exclamation mark. right click and remove it
- disconnect your phone then reboot your pc
- install flashtool and driver, reboot pc again
- connect your phone to pc. Now, it should detect your phone.
- do flashing procedure
