Rebooting, SD card? - Galaxy Note GT-N7000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

My note started rebooting every 10-15 minutes while on my belt clip, noticed because my BT started beeping, connecting, beeping, connecting.
Took the battery out for a few minutes, still did it.
What appeared to fix it was to pull, install, pull, install the SD card & sim card about a dozen times?
I noticed once when it rebooted, that it appeared to hand on "media scan SD card".
Dirty connection???

HTC TyTn II does not boot

Hi!
I first noticed this problem yesterday. After turning the device off, I had trouble turning it back on again. It booted, but before showing the Windows Mobile logo, it "crashed" (went black) and rebooted again.
It kept doing this, so I unplugged the battery for a minute, put it back in, plugged in the power cord and then it was fine.
This afternoon I turned my phone off, and right after that tried to turn it on again. No way...
It starts, and the backlight is at 100%. After 2 seconds it shows "smart mobility". 5 seconds later it shows R/G/D with numbers in the right bottom corner. Then after 10 seconds the backlight dims, and nothing happens at all.
I tried charing the battery fully before trying again. I had it both connected to a low power source (USB) and a 220V socket. I removed the battery several times, and tried to reset the device too. I also tried to start w/o battery, but it refuses. I also tried starting with and without MiniSD card and SIM. No difference.
No custom ROM installed. The device worked fine for more than 2 years now. Never had any trouble like this.
Now what?

I didn't read your whole post, but, try another battery.

Have you try a hard reset to this point. or re-flashing your device
No, since that would make me lose my text messages. And I hoped you had an idea.

Try another battery then, as ChumleEx recommends. If not, then you will need to perform a hard reset or reflash

My SD card is not available

After I unplug my phone from the computer (I had it plugged in for charging) the music app(s) complain that my SD card is currently mounted and therefore unavailable so it cannot be accessed for music, etc. All I do is plug in the USB cable and let it sit for charging, then unplug when needed. In fact, I've been doing this for months, but only one week ago I'm seeing this SD card issue. To resolve it, I have to restart my phone.

[Q] Can't turn on!

Hi,
I can't seem to turn on my rooter Nook Color without connecting it to the USB. I tried pressing the power button for 2 seconds and longer and waited atleast 2 mins each time but nothing happened.
But as soon as I connect USB (connected to Mac), and press power, the led turns green and after a few seconds it turns on.
I wonder why can't I startup Nook without USB? Is it a "tethered" root?
after you rooted with auto noot you must format your usb card, dismount and then format it. after that, it will turn on just fine. I had that issue too.
You can also just remove the autonooter sdcard and put in a blank one.
I had this problem too. And I didn't have the auto-nooter SD card installed either (completely different SD card installed).
But I did find that if I held the home and power buttoms together for a few seconds it would then come on without the USB power.
It was like this for a couple days after rooting. Then oddly yesterday (about 3 days after rooting I think) it suddenly would start powering on normally with only the power button pressed.

Intense phone crash, won't fully work

Yesterday, my phone just shut off. It wouldn't boot back up after multiple attempts. Finally, it booted back into CM7, but I was missing half of my applications and my SD card wouldn't finish checking. After reinstalling everything twice (the first round didn't work), my phone still won't get past error checking the SD card and the battery will no longer fully charge. Regardless of how long it's plugged in, it doesn't get past the mid-50% mark. Ideas? THoughts?
When you did the reinstall did you do a system wipe? If not I would try that. Now has the phones suffered any physical damage (drop, water, etc)?

[Q] HELP: Galaxy Note Stuck At Media Scanning

Very strange. I took some photos earlier during the day. When I got home, I connected my unrooted Galaxy Note to my Mac with USB debugging mode on and mounted the USB and SD card drives on my desktop. I copied the photos on to my desktop.
Next I ejected the two drives and disconnected the USB connection on my Note. I unplugged the USB cable and the usual "Media Scanning" started.
Normally, the "Media Scanning", "Preparing USB Storage" and "Preparing SD Card" notices would just run for a couple of seconds then your phone will be ready again.
This time though it just kept on running "Media Scanning" and got stuck at that point. I tried opening Gallery, but it would force close. Same thing with Camera.
I clicked on the My Files application and it sees all the contents of both the USB and SD card fine, but the "Media Scanning" thing doesn't want to stop.
Here are the steps I've tried:
1. Rebooted the phone.
2. Disabled USB debugging.
3. Unmounted the SD card, turned phone off, removed SD card. Put it back on.
4. Removed the battery for about five minutes.
5. Went to the "Gallery" application and cleared data.
No luck. Can anyone help me?
check it again, where it stucks exactly, during scanning pull down notification area n watch
System storage OR
USB storage OR
SD card
If it is SD card, remove SD card, scan with antivirus On PC, if not works try format it.
It seems to be stuck at "Media Scanning" and doesn't say if it's USB or SD. I tried connecting it again to my Mac and the two drives mount just fine.
If I copy and paste the contents of both to my Mac, format both drives, and paste the contents back to the phone, you think that would work?
Still i am suspecting Sd card error, have you try it removing Ext card ?
just remove ext Sd card n watch if error occurs or not
Yes I unmounted and ejected it and put it back on, no luck...
I mean to say you just remove SD card, n reboot device without Ext SD card.
Whats your capacity and SD card class? Mine's 8gb, class 4. I have lots of photos and at times when i transfer large files over (>1gb) and total used space is >4gb, my media will scan for at least 10 minutes, longest i'd have to wait was 30minutes.
Try leaving your phone untouched and battery more than 80% if possible because scanning would cause it to run at max clock freq and it drains battery pretty fast while getting hot at the same time. If you'd like, let it charge, altho it might be hotter.
Mine hit 48deg cel normally when this happens. Wanted to ask if anyone else experienced this?
