[Q] JVH/JVB Front camera issue / fix didnt work

Hey guys,
i got the issue with the front camera picture on my stock JVH/JVB with CF-Root 3.2 and BLN 3 kernel.
It shows split screen 4 times the front cam input.
I tried damians front camera fix but it didnt fixed it. :/
What could i do ? Is there another fix?
thx for ur help i am desperate :/
ok *solved*
its the BLN kernel - waiting for samsung to fix their open source kernel.
On stock jvh with cf-root front cam is working flawless
revert to original kernel?
hello
i have find this problem from CMW CF.Root XW NEE JVH v3.2 is not compatible with BackLightNotification v3.0 to cause front camera
then i must remove BackLightNotification v3.0, then front camera is working ....
Weird !!!
Try sgs2 camera app
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA App
Ok so well i said i got it fixed but no really:
If you use the BLN kernel from the bln thread the front cam fixes out there dont work.
So i flashed fugumod bleeding kernel and got it fixed a little with the jvh camera fix .. now the front camera picture is not fourfold but rotated to the left. The aspect ratio is wrong.
PS: i tried sgs II camera app which causes fcs for me on jvo

I'm looking for a rom for my friend with the X8.
I'm using Xperia Arc (X12) Cm7, But as i understoon the devs stopped the FXP project in X8 so there might be a better rom out there.
What my friend needs :
-Stable Rom
-App2Sd
-New version (hopes for 2.3.7)
-No Random Resets
-Somethin that will make his phone run faster
-Not uses much battery. (i would say battery use - medium)
I thought about Cm7, but MiniCM looks like it's better , is it ?
is there somethin better?
what is the best Kerneral to flash with those roms ?
thanks in advance.
Choose miniCM7 with nAa kernel (everything works there)
It will make his phone faster, smoother and better
Sent from my E15i using xda premium
So This is the best option ?
Does camera fully work ?
Is it stable?
can he finally move apps 2 sd card?
does it uses much battery?
Its super stable, camera is fully working, app2sd works fine.battery usage is fine too
This is the best option
Leave thanks if I helped

[DEV HELP] Video autofocus kernel

Hi,
I have a i9000 and I9001. i9000 with custom rom have the autofocus but the i9001 dont have this feature with custom rom, but has it with latest stock rom.
I read that the camera of the two phones is the same in hardware but the difference is the driver.
(talk about in this post)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1393512
So, is there any developer who is able to integrate the autofocus in its kernel?
lgcamera app have this function

thanks for the advice, now I try this app. But it would be nice to have the stock camera fixed.
Edit: autofocus of lgcamera dont work... neither in photo mode.
Edit: Ive installed lgcamera on my i9000 and... it works, so I think we need to change the camera driver to enable autofocus in video on i9001

[Q] Bigmem libs patch - pros & cons & more

Hello,
I am using CM10.1 nightlies, with Semaphore 2.9.5 kernel.
I would like to have more RAM so I Want to install the 2.9.5s kernel BUT (here i need your help):
1. Which bigmem patch is compatible with CM10.1?
2. How can i install it? (Flash bigmem patch and then flash kernel? or restart between?)
3. Pros: I know i'll get more RAM but what is the cost? (What are the Cons? it can not be all perfect isn't it? otherwise all the ROMs will come already patched... and all the Kernels would be compatible to bigmem libs)
Thank you very much in advance.
*Sorry for bad english

The better way is to flash a ROM with all the Patches, try FISHEARS ROM or CYANAOSP ROM for Bigmem option
Secondly, If you are using BIGMEM , then it will break 720P video recording and it will go to 480P
And might increase UI response little bit, !
PS- I am not using it !

Thank you,
BUT I Would like to use semaphore because the 720p sppose to work even after (thats what i read at the Sema OP)
and i do not like to swich ROM for this...
So if someone can assist, How do i install it? and what Files do i need?
Thanks
A brief review of what i learnt about this for others who might need it
1. The bigmem patch that one needs to patch to hugemem libs is: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=30725734
2. Installation is install this zip and then install a patch-compatible Kernel as Semaphore 2.9.7s (it was recommanded to install superSU either the same time)
3. only pros...no cons.. except that it *might* break 720p video recording as anyone could tell.
any comments anyone?
I'll try this after exams when I'll have the time bacause now i'm a little timeless and if something will go wrong it will be a problem.

[Q] Semaphore 3.2.0 and BigMEM-Libs

can someone explain to me what is "BigMEM-Libs for Sema-Kernel 3.2.0s" . I saw it on another post .
when should I flash the BigMEM? after I flashed the rom and the kernel ?
1 more thing, can i flash cm 10.2 on stock 2.3.3 ?
ty .
Upgrade to 2.3.6 (it is a better base for the next steps) then flash CM 10.2
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2434225
So to your other question:
Semaphore is an other Kernel for different ROM like CM 10.2 and so on...you can flash it via Odin...
The Kernel reserves RAM when starting so you don`t have 512 MB RAM on your Android for apps and so on, instead only 360MB, for explample...
Semaphore-Kernel gives tou the ability to enable the Function "BigMEM" so you have more RAM becuase some drivers are not loaded at the beginning for example 720p video recording...
So when you enable BigMEM you`re camera will get FS (ForceClosings) then you need the BigMEMLibs (Libs like libOMX.so and so on) and for all that you have to use not the "normal" Semaphore-Kernel, but the Sema-Kernel "s"
Bigmem
When the kernel boots, it reserves some RAM to be used by some drivers (video, capture, JPG) for DMA (Direct Memory Access). In Linux kernel this reservation have to be done only during boot. It was found that using less reserved memory for video capture, the kernel can operate normally without issue with the only regretion that 720p video recording is not possible. Enabling this option will leave ~13MB more available RAM.

Hope i can help you a little ...
