Hi,
i got myself a HTC Velocity in Australia. It is still running on the Stock Gingerbread. From what i found out yet, there is no ICS rom with German language included.
I'm wondering what about the Custom Roms based on Gingerbread like HoliRaider...?
Are they for universal use (Telstra, At&T, European, Asian Version)?
And are there different languages included?

The Dev would have to include the extra languages into the rom. And as far as i can tell i dont see any either. The Dev will usualy specifiy but it doesnt hurt to do backups and try to flash it. Trial and error.
My ROM has a ton of languages, including those that no other ROM has, you can try it.
It's based on Telstra 3.5 ROM.
Most all of the custom ROMs not using ATT source on Gingerbread have a plethora of languages offered.

Hello! i was wondering if there is any stock rom's available for download for different countries, as all of the existing rom's on samsung-firmwares have a messed up CSC (supporting all kind of languages), im especially looking for the German one, the swedish would be great aswell. Cheers
Hello All,
Why Arabic language is not supported on all new custom ROMs (For people who want to benefit of newest features offered by these ROMs)
Is it hard for developers to add it?

same problem here.
in arabaic countries you can breng your tab to a samsung center and they upgrade it with some kind of a fix where you get the arabaic/farsi/mid east
fonts back. i have the same problem with farsi font.
tip
you can download persian browser. this is an app which shows the fonts the right way. also arabic websites
Any new rom is based on a rom that was released for a world region, so they don't usually contain languages for other regions.

But the link that you posted is 2.2 firmware.
Did you know any ROM supporting Arabic for 2.3.3 firmware?
Thank you.

hey guys, I want to go s-off but i'm having an asian rom, which means I need to flash it with Goldcard and a EUR RUU.
Flashing with a EUR RUU means that I will lose all the languages I have in my phone? Is there a way I can download languages for my phone? Or at least back up my current rom so that I can install it back in later?
Thanks guys. <3
You'll have almost any language if you flash WWE version of stock ROM.
I wasn't able to get a chinese handwriting method from HTC Text Input from Asian stock ROM, but I backed up an HTC IME from it using MyPhoneExplorer... (So I'm just going to replace an HTC IME in the custom ROM i want to use with an HTC IME from Asian stock ROM)
I'm still working on it, i'll see whether it works out or not...
Hey thanks alot dude, I wanna type in chinese, that's the thing, just the keyboard will do. I have a SouthEastAsia rom but theres no option for chinese handwriting
So you're saying that I can type with chinese on the WWE Rom? hahaha if that's the case i'm gonna flash it in now!
Alas, if you want to have a Chinese user interface, you can go to the market and download "MoreLocale2". You can find ALMOST every language in it.
hi. i'm a beginner in android, and have a question. recently i did update my incredible s rom to this one:
RUU_Vivo_Gingerbread_S_HTC_WWE_2.30.405.1_Radio_20.2808.30.085AU_3805.06.03.03_M_release_199308_signed.exe
... after installation i realised that although it has arabic language as an option in languages, it doesn't support it completely, and shows separate arabic letters. i found an official arabic gingerbread rom later:
RUU_Vivo_Gingerbread_S_HTC_ARA_2.12.415.5_Radio_20.2805.30.085AU_3805.04.03.27_M_release_188261_signed.exe
but apparently, this one's a bit older. so, is it possible to install it over the other rom? will it work and should i download it? or is there another solution?
thanks in advance.

If you run Revolutionay to gain S-Off you may be able run the older RUU. The other option is once you have S-Off flash a rooted custom Rom that has the Arabic support.
I think the rom HD Revolution has full Arabic support.
Install that from clockwork and you'll be getting a great tom and full Arabic support

Hi,
i'm in Australia at the moment and bought a Telstra Velocity. At the moment it runs with the Gingerbread version but i want to update to ICS soon.
In the Gingerbread version there is no other language than English to choose. I was wondering if there are more languages in this version... can anybody tell me?
If not, is there any chance to get the German language on to that phone?
Because on the Rom it says it is just for the X710b version, so i think i can't take a rom of another Vivid/Velocity version.
I remember on the HTC Wildfire and on the HTC HD2 you could take all the roms for all the different hardware models because they don't change the radio rom?!
Why is it different on this phone? Or is it just a misunderstanding?
The ICS update for Telstra is all ready out so you can update it now. I checked mine, which is running ICS, and it only has English language option.

Yes i know that it's already out, thanks for the information about no German language included.
Is there any other way to get German language to the phone?
I'm wondering why i can't use a Custom Rom or Rom from another country/provider?
On my HD2 and Wildfire phone i could use alle the custom roms for the different hardware versions (UMTS frequencies)!
